So as I was going to get about my third or fourth soda today I began to wonder. How many cans of soda do CAG's drink in a day.

I responded in the 2-4 cans a day because that is what I drink if no one tells me to stop but usually I only drink 1 or 2 because if I drink more then 2 my mom gets on my case.
I haven't had a soda in about 3 years.
Oh my god, get this person a soda NOW! lol I go crazy if I go a day without soda.

I used to drink about a can or two a day, which is a lot. I dont buy soda at home any more. I only drink it when I go out for dinner, because i've kept a streak going of having a coke or pepsi every time I go out for dinner. So maybe two a week? I drink mostly iced tea or vitamin water.

On average one can a day. I usually have it with one meal and have water at the other meal though somedays I don't have any soda but when I go to a fastfood place with free refills, I usually have the equivalent of 3 - 4 cans (diet coke)

I put zero because the only time I have sodea is when I'm drinking a Jack/Diet Coke. Other than that, I'm drinking water, tea(iced, green, lemon, etc...), juice, or coffee.

I stopped about two months ago.

i drink at least 3 20 oz. bottles and then like 3 cans when i get home plus some from the 2 liter i have here as well. of course it is all mountain dew too.

Depends on the day, more than one on the weekend though... hey, it's better than alcohol.

I used to drink about 4 liter bottles a day. Now,i scale down to one can a day.All that high frutose corn syrup is very unhealthy for your body since your body have hard time metabolizing it

I used to drink around 7 cans a day around 4 years ago...since i'm a poor college student now, I tend to only drink it when it offered to me for free.

Waiting....waiting....waiting.......who will post the dyed organ stuff? It has to happen. Someone needs to graph topic trends on CAG. It would be interesting to see. Chicks, tales from the shitter, pop/soda, video game deals, spam, and sports. I think that would be the correct rankings.

Me? I drink less and less as I age. I now like Coke Zero, so I drink mostly that, but I seem to be drinking more beer lately. I find if I drink 3 or 4 beers (Heinekens, St. Pauli Girl, Fosters, etc.) and then a Coke Zero (or any pop), I will become very smoothed out. In a good way.

Also, I couldn't see any voting #s or %s after I voted.

I probably drink about 1 a week if I get a value meal at some fast food place. Don't drink it at home except on rare occasions when I buy some sort of cream soda or something.

i only drink soft drinks when i either:

1) use a coupon at a fast food place and it requires that you purchase a drink

or

2) go to a party or some place where there is no water/juice to drink

When I was 19-20, my friend and I drank at least a 2-liter a day. During the late nights of working on Doom WADs (which was every night), we would go through a case.

I have the occasional can, but never get it when at a restaurant. That shit is about as bad for you as it can get. It's probably healthier to drink 12oz of corn oil.

Been drinking soda somewhere between 1-2 liters a day now for years. I feel like crap if I dont (I feel like an idiot saying that about soda but its true.) Im pretty sure its the sugar more than caffiene, Ive subbed it out for iced tea and a few other drinks and did well without soda. I love it too much to give up though :).

as long as you lead an active lifestyle and are healthy then how are sodas bad for you?

i mean... milk is bad for you, bottled water is bad for you, water from the tap is bad for you...

what the fuck is i suppose to drank?

I gave up soda 7 years ago when I first considered Mormonism as a true religion, because they don't drink coffee and tea, supposedly for the caffeine. It seemed to make sense to me that if caffeine was bad, I should stop with soda, too. But almost no Mormons abstain from soda, because the passage in their scriptures that condemns coffee and tea only references "hot drinks." But the only way to explain that as not being completely insane is to say it's talking about caffeine and not the temperature of the liquid.

....

I gave up on Mormonism soon thereafter, but never went back to soda, except for special occasions: having a tomato pie in Trenton all but demands birch beer, or when I'm yearning one of the aforementioned, random creme sodas at home, etc.

Last year I started drinking carbonated water at the behest of my girlfriend, and I'd almost be happy never drinking Coke etc. again. You get the fizziness and it mixes really well with fruit juice or almost anything you can imagine, except ice cream. I thought that would work well and I tried it once. It didn't. The water is way too bitter.

2-3 diet cokes a day. I tried to quit but caffeine headaches hurt like hell.

This is why I drink, and eat whatever I want. Everything is bad for you even good stuff.

To much tap water you supposed to get kidney stones. Bottled water isn't even pure its tap water. TO much protein hurts you whole body. to much vegetables and no meat can make you sick from lack of protein. etc etc.

So I said fuck it all, and eat and drink as I please.

I used to drink 2-4 cans a day, but now I'm starting to scale back. I generally only have one a day, but a lot of times I have none, and sometimes I have two.
Yeah, eat and drink whatever you want and get diabeties.
Indeed. High fructose corn syrup is awful for you, because it requires insulin to metabolise but doesn't have a huge effect on your blood sugar, so it's just putting a lot of extra strain on your metabolism for nothing and contributes to insulin resistance, as does the massive amounts of sugar if it isn't diet soda.

Someone mentioned a lack of meat resulting in protein deficiency, but in my experience that isn't true so long as you know where to get protein in plant foods. I've been vegan for 3 years now and I'm the healthiest I've ever been!

You dont win friends with salad...

...I drink Iced Tea...and water...

Yeah well I agree with you PKRipp3r but when you are addicted to soda and start gaining weight it is better to drink diet then give it up.

In fact I drink all diet soda except for maybe one regular soda a week at a resturant.

The only time I ever drink soda is when I'm at a restaurant or something. A lot of the time, I'll just get water, but sometimes I feel like a pop. I go 2-3 months between sodas.

About three years ago I just decided one day that I wouldn't drink any more pop and switch to just water. Looking back, it is probably the best thing I ever did.

this is true

luckily the stuff goes right through me

Over the summer i went at least 3 months with none but I've gone back to 1 day. I lost a lot of weight when i wasnt drinking any so I could drink more, but I like to drink a good amount of water as well.

honestly i used to be able to drain a 2 liter and then some easily in a day . i didnt drink soda everyday but ebough days that yeah its a hell of alot of soda. i havent touched the stuff in over 2 or 3 months now and aside from when im up late and could use a pick me up i dont miss it. maybe pepsi a little bit and especially pepsi blue but there splenty fof healthier alternatives out there.

long story short im on this health kick and in doing this i cut out alot of sugars soda being the number one addiction of mine that and dark chocolate. ive replaced the sodas with sugar free fruit juices and i really dont miss soda much at all. same thign with milk i switch to soy milk and i love the stuff. btw any of you lookin to switch to soy try the 8th continent brand that stuff is awesome. especially the chocolate milk.

I've had like a case of ginger ale in the last 3 days because apparently it helps me when Im sick. I've been drinking water too.

You should try Fresca. Good stuff, I believe it has a bit of aspartame and natural flavor in it as a sugar replacement. I think its 0 calories etc, and it tastes awesome. Ive been trying to phase out coke and drink mostly fresca to maybe lose a couple pounds.

I might drink a soda every two weeks... Sometimes I get the random craving for a cherry coke, but thats about it. I drink about a gallon of water a day and some OJ or coffee.

Maybe an average of one a day, I usually go through a 2-liter over the weekend with some help, but normally drink water during the week.

I try to limit myself to no more than one can a day. Some days I won't drink any, and sometimes (Taco Bell or O"Charley's) I'll have 3 or 4 refills. I am susceptible to kidney stones so I have to drink lots of water to keep everything flushed out. I'll drink caffeine free mt dew at night so I can sleep, but i can't make myself drink diet dew, it just doesn't taste good.
