That's actually out of character for Myke and was really just an off the cuff remark.
Eh. I don't know if it's that out of character for me, but I digress.
As for Ace-of-War, has your political allegience blinded you to the original reason this thread exists? If you want to chide people for making irreverent comments, then fine; I'll take my lumps. I'll also be the sixth or seventh person in line, easily, only taking the remarks on this thread into account.
Now, if you want to change the dialogue in the versus forum, you're going about it the wrong way. There seem to be a few techniques the handful (well, partial handful) of righties (or those just seeking to either balance the thread - elprincipe - or just be devil's advocates to the nth degree - bmulligan). Other than those two techniques, there is the PittsburghAfterDark, in which one quote is used as the foundation for an entire line of thinking, or an entire article cut and paste from Drudge, Limbaugh, or Free Republic. Also, if you go down this lane, be certain to use all your hyperbolic powers in the thread title, and offer little of your own insight in the first post. Subsequent posts in the same thread typically involve calling people "dumbass."
Or, you can take your approach, which is to single people out for intellectual shortsightedness (despite its abundance), and leave with the ironic consequence of having proffered nothing of substance in return. Be certain to convince yourself that the other person is actually worked up about your bland statements, and not, for instance, thinking about putting the chicken in the oven, or doing some leveling up in CastleVania: Harmony of Dissonance (y'know, just as a hypothetical). Subsequent comments to this line of thinking shall involve you pointing out just how much you've given me something resembling "what-for."
You can mix and match; just see the aforementioned Three Dollar Hooker for some intermediate techniques. If you actually want to raise my blood pressue, as well as my interest and attention (instead of me constantly reminding myself to put my Belgian Ales on ice, and look up their ratings/tasting notes, just as another hypothetical), then study under bmulligan. We have out moments, and then we don't; however, he consistently succeeds, far and beyond anyone in this forum, at managing to antagonize me.
Thus far, your trite techniques leave me half sleepy, and half keeping up with the laundry list of things to do until the evening comes. You're giving yourself a lot of credit that you don't deserve credit for. I'll let this be the last response to you in this thread. Instead, I'll let you make up a topic of something that you find to be relevant, interesting, and not previously discussed in this forum (well, in the past four weeks; the vs forums repeats itself like a menstrual cycle sometimes). Here's some help, in the event you need it: none of the righties have brought up Coretta Scott King's funeral yet (though PAD's signature, I believe, shows the phoenetic humor he found in Joseph Lowery).
Which reminds me, I should pick up some old Amos n' Andy videos for him for Valentine's Day. He'll love them, certainly.
