Since everyone is asking for people to get them one when they can't find one on their own, let's try to keep the requests to this thread here:

HP.com states that they are trying to fulfill orders and may have leftover stock

Also, more information on orders placed through HP.com
As of the 23th, your best bet is HP restocking if you dont have a pad.

There is also Newegg but we may have to see.

Dear webOS developer:

We have opened the next chapter for webOS, and we understand that you must have many questions. Yesterday we announced that we will focus on the future of webOS as a software platform but we will no longer be producing webOS devices. While this was a difficult decision, it's one that will strengthen our ability to focus on further innovating with webOS as we forge our path forward. Throughout this journey, our developers will continue to be a vital part of the future of webOS.

We will continue to support, innovate and develop the webOS App Catalog. Our intent is to enhance our merchandising and presentation of your great products and to continue to build our webOS app ecosystem.

As many of you are aware, we are currently scheduled to hold many developer events around the world. We are planning to continue with these events, however, due to the recent announcements; the nature of them will change. These updates will be posted on our events registration site this coming week. We are eager to present to you the updated strategy for webOS and to hear your feedback.

Lastly, I wish to express our sincere appreciation for your ongoing support for webOS and the many teams responsible for it here at HP. This is a particularly dynamic time in the mobile industry and sometimes tough decisions need to be made about not only what to do, but also what not to do. This has been one of those times. Together with our great webOS developer community, we are confident that we will meet the challenges ahead and build momentum for optimal success.

We will be communicating with you frequently over the next few weeks and we look forward to hearing from you throughout this process.

Thanks for your support

Richard Kerris
VP webOS Developer Relations

It may be a futile, doomed effort, but they aren't killing and totally orphaning the Touchpad. Yeah, it's going to be limited, but it's ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS! A 9.7" tablet with Gorilla Glass screen for a C-note. Hell, I'm gonna get one just cuz! There's a Kindle app, so BAM!!! $100 eReader!
Seller might have struck a deal with HP to pick up the stock. Looks to be a big IT reseller. Needless to say, in for one.
that'd be my guess

Office Depot and Office Max both cancelled my orders. Office Max told me they were not for sale and Office Depot cancelled my online order (in store pickup) because they didn't pull them. They basically said once the doors opened people bought them and that was it :( even though my order was in last night. Oh well...looks like I missed this one
I think I may have had success with the HP Small Business store online. It took a while, but I got all the way to the Submit Order page, reloaded a few times after it errored out on me, then got to the Proccessing Page...and it errored again. However, it shows that my credit card was charged for the amount that I submitted so I think I got one for me and my mom. My mom is legally blind so having bigger icons that she can touch will help her out a ton. Great price if all goes well! :)
whats the link?

i logged into my account to check my order today and the status was "Deleted-Created in Error"

uhhhh i didn't create it in error you dicks.
OMG it timed out as it was processing my Credit Card information! DOH :bomb:
It did that to me too. Just be patient and keep reloading. I finally got it to go through on both the processing and confirmation pages...which I printed out for good measure. Good luck!

ordered one for my gf from the ebay seller. i was so disappointed after coming home empty handed from walmart, target, and best buy but only $20 more is very reasonable. thanks guys!

I contacted Overstock and was told:
"Due to the fact that we did not directly purchase our stock from HP and we purchase overstocked items from other companies, the liquidation price does not apply to us at this time. We are looking into if we can offer this price to our customers but as of right now we are not able to and can't guarantee if we will be able to or not."

That's really funny if they in fact did buy their stock from someone other than HP...looks like these will likely remain in 'overstock.'

Added any price adjustment is only offered in store credit...
in before it's over 9000 haha
Won't get that high, check the stock...total stock was just over 6000. Seems it's sold out now actually.
I'd love to see the guys face when he sees 5k+ orders for the things, Here's hoping it's legit as I bit on one
He's gonna be very busy for a week. Or three.

Couldn't remember my paypal password, right as i got it to work, it said the items were already purchased by another user :( damn i just have no luck getting my hands on this damn thing. i almost bought one when they first came out too but i hadda pay tuition :/ dammit haha

I grabbed a 16 gig from that seller online. Hope they manage to ship them out in a timely manner, and chose the bill me later feature so even if this guy was scamming everyone itll be nothing outta pocket and no waiting for a refund.

It would make sense for this seller to have a huge stock though if he has a relationship with HP. If HP just got 200k back from Best Buy they are gonna be looking to unload them and cant possible fill that many orders themselves.

Time to start packing orders lol. glad I got in for one
Datavis is a very big electronics seller in NY; they'll have the stock. Best Buy themselves had over 250k.
Was a little worried but with your info and the feedback seems to be legit

some perspective here 6K tablets @ $20 markup, not counting fees he just made ~$120K in the last 20 minutes if this seller got them at the 100 price point....

Now thats a good come up for a small business. It also makes you wonder how much of the Market share on tablets Apple would have if someone came out with a decent competitor at a $99-$150 price point

Radio shack updated the price in-store. Anybody that bought this online like I suggested will be able to PM this in all likelihood (as long as the website stock ships out and there's no last minute corporate memo to not honor the new price). The website is oos as of now.

Remember with eBay fees + shipping, it's probably a bit less than 120k. That being said, they're a Diamondseller, so significant fee discounts and the like. They did great for a half an hour's work...and like 3 weeks of fulfilling orders

of course if he got them @ the $500 price point, he just lost ~$2 million in 20 minutes selling them at the reduced price....

Now to keep an eye out for one of the wireless charging docks to drop in price

Mine says itll be here between the 23rd and 28th anything else will not be tolerated lol

Also I would thing the accessories for this will also be dropping like crazy as well so I want a case and a nice charger

Ebay & PP fee ~12-17% so he either break even or make $6 each.

I'm sure if he made a deal with hp to move 6000 units , he didn't pay 99 for them.

If legit (or I guess even if not), great payday for this seller.

Thanks for that ebay link - I've been interested in checking out a tablet, and $125 is a great price since I probably won't be able to get to a B&M store to even try and get one.
