It may be a futile, doomed effort, but they aren't killing and totally orphaning the Touchpad. Yeah, it's going to be limited, but it's ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS! A 9.7" tablet with Gorilla Glass screen for a C-note. Hell, I'm gonna get one just cuz! There's a Kindle app, so BAM!!! $100 eReader!

Went through HP SMS. Never got confirmation. Site would just load and hang during the loading sequence after I entered my card info. I refreshed after it hung for over 20 minutes but still never got confirmation. Now my card shows 2 pending charges. Do you think at least order will go through? And how long until i get an email?
 
I ordered mines from Best Buy (32GB) around 8:10am. I got an order confirmation and my card was charged. Now, I'm just playing the waiting game for my delivery confirmation. I got it mainly for my father, who's birthday was Friday. Until then, I'll keep playing on my iPad 2.

Backspace and refresh is what I did. kept at it for over an hr. all the way up until CC verification. Its a process but hopefully it be worth it.

I've never put this much time into any deal and come away with nothing. I have been SO close so many times over the past 36 hours. Insanely frustrating.
 
With all this madness related to the HP TP firesale, I just realized that I haven't looked at video game deals here on CAG since Friday night! I managed to snag a 32 GB from BB.com before it was OOS. Before that I finally got through HP SMB and ordered a 32 GB. At the order confirmation page, I took a screenshot right away because I had a bad feeling that I wouldn't be able to get back to that page. It paid off since the page crashed a couple of minutes later. So I have an order # and a customer #. When I input the order # on the order status page, I keep getting "no order found." My CC hasn't been charged yet by HP. I also haven't received an email confirmation from HP. I wonder if that order went through?
 
Well, today was a semi-success. We headed down to BB this morning around 10am, getting there at 10:15 with only one guy standing at the door. Luckily, he wasn't there for the Touchpad. He had taken an early bus because he thought that BB opened at 10a. As we were walking to the door, I noticed one car that had a small family sitting in it. After a minute or two, they got out came joined us in "line."

We all chatted a bit, about this and that, and he mentioned he heard it from SD. He had set out to get two 16GB, one for him and one for his wife (I'm assuming). On our way down, my GF and I debated getting a 32 for me and a 16GB for our daughter, who is going to have a hands-on iPad lab in school this year.

More people start lining up until there are maybe 20 or so people, and then the Assistant Manager comes out and says that there are only two left, both 32GB. Since we were first in line, we had first dibs, and at first we said we would take them. But my guilty side came out and I offered the other 32GB to the family we were talking to. At first they seemed reluctant but after insisting, they took it.

Surprisingly, people were fairly civil.

Once we got in side, as expected, they really tried pushing the overpriced accessories on us. Why pay $80 for a charger that will be on clearance for a fraction in 2 weeks?

With that, I'm done with this business. I've wasted far too much time. We each have one, for both the business and for whatever else (porn? :lol: kidding)

Hopefully the fact HP's site changed to "sold out" is a good sign that they were indeed "in stock" earlier in the day. I'm dreading a cancellation email...

if I do get one (fingers crossed) I'd use it to watch online movies. I just cancelled my netflix sub so this is the next best thing
 
Some person on my local Craigslist is trying to sell a 32GB for $375. Good thing I posted a warning above it to let people know about the sale and that there are places where one could find them cheaper. Got to love people that try to rip off others that aren't knowledgeable.

Try using Opera with Turbo turned on. I kept getting error messages as well, and combinations of back and reload seemed to get my order through. I did not receive an email confirmation, but the order is tied to my online profile/order status and the charge shows as pending on my Amex. Hope that is able to help some of you out.
 
Tempted by google shopping telling me it's in stock at all the bb's in my area. However, the bb in stock link posted like 20 pages ago shows unavailable.

I was able to pick a 16GB model @ Best Buy (Hato Rey, PR) this morning.

Got there 10 minutes before they opened, they had around 10 from both models, you where only able to get 1 per person.

Question is, now what? lol

Honestly at this late on hunt the only hopes are backordered items and newegg whenever they decide to drop it. Or some random ebay seller who gets desperate >.>
 
I powered through and got an order in for the 32GB on the HP Small and Medium business site. It happened just after midnight this morning. My CC company called this morning to double-check the charges, and they noted an additional 400 charge from HP. Thankfully it was declined, but the single was approved. So watch out if you're pushing through the site in multiple tabs or browsers.

Also, as long as this one doesn't get canceled, I may have an extra 16GB on the way. I might sell it to a CAGer if it arrives.
 
Wouldn't mind one of these, but don't feel like driving around looking for one. If i had been around for the Amazon lightning deal, definitely would have ordered. Just bought a netbook from TRU the other week , so don't exactly need it so just as well I didn't find one.
 
to those who have or gonna get theirs soon,just a heads up there is a update for the tablet. The bastard took a while to finally download but does help the performance better.
 
i'm sure they have more than a few at newegg. they haven't dropped the price yet but do you guys think they will? i've never purchased through newegg before. should i make an account in advance in case they do drop the price?

Yeah, I'm still trying to figure out why people are going bat-crazy for these when the netbooks were available at TRU for an even better deal...??? Is there something I'm missing here?
 
My Costco had them yesterday, refused to sell (voted on it). Went this morning, guy fresh of vacation checked their computer for stock levels and it said "discontinued - no sale" and showed 0 for inventory levels in the store. YMMV

anyone think it would be worth it to order off of newegg now and just get them to adjust the price once it drops? I called earlier today and they said that the price has been sent in for approval but the earliest it will get approved is monday.
