Dear webOS developer:

We have opened the next chapter for webOS, and we understand that you must have many questions. Yesterday we announced that we will focus on the future of webOS as a software platform but we will no longer be producing webOS devices. While this was a difficult decision, it's one that will strengthen our ability to focus on further innovating with webOS as we forge our path forward. Throughout this journey, our developers will continue to be a vital part of the future of webOS.

We will continue to support, innovate and develop the webOS App Catalog. Our intent is to enhance our merchandising and presentation of your great products and to continue to build our webOS app ecosystem.

As many of you are aware, we are currently scheduled to hold many developer events around the world. We are planning to continue with these events, however, due to the recent announcements; the nature of them will change. These updates will be posted on our events registration site this coming week. We are eager to present to you the updated strategy for webOS and to hear your feedback.

Lastly, I wish to express our sincere appreciation for your ongoing support for webOS and the many teams responsible for it here at HP. This is a particularly dynamic time in the mobile industry and sometimes tough decisions need to be made about not only what to do, but also what not to do. This has been one of those times. Together with our great webOS developer community, we are confident that we will meet the challenges ahead and build momentum for optimal success.

We will be communicating with you frequently over the next few weeks and we look forward to hearing from you throughout this process.

Thanks for your support

It may be a futile, doomed effort, but they aren't killing and totally orphaning the Touchpad. Yeah, it's going to be limited, but it's ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS! A 9.7" tablet with Gorilla Glass screen for a C-note. Hell, I'm gonna get one just cuz! There's a Kindle app, so BAM!!! $100 eReader!

Ordered a 32gb one this morning for my parents off Best Buy and ended up missing all of the 16gb ones. Thanks for the onSale link, grabbed a 16gb for myself. Only problem is NY sales tax is killer on Amazon.

Hoping my Datavision order ships tomorrow. Already got confirmation and everything, just hoping they arent too overwhelmed at the 6,378 that they sold within a matter of like an hour yesterday. At least I've been reassured by others that its a good company that does these kind of liquidations fairly often so I'd think they know how to handle it.

My 32GB order from onSale is already marked as "Shipping Soon," but the 16GB I ordered a couple minutes later during (what I supposed could be called) the first re-stock is still "Not Yet Shipped." I also haven't received a confirmation email for the 16GB order. I was considering cancelling the individual orders in favor of making a new combined order to save a couple bucks on shipping, but I guess that's out of the question now. Plus...don't want to risk grabbing defeat from the jaws of victory after this whole weekend hunting.

EDIT: Oh, there's my confirmation email! ...And updated order status on Amazon. Great, now I can stop worrying about these tablets and go back to wasting my time on Sims Social instead of working on El Shaddai..

I have a quick question. I was one of the unlucky few who refreshed on the SMB website and finished the transactions even after the website had the "CURRENTLY OUT OF STOCK" image up. I looked at my order status and I have two orders stating "We are unable to process your order, please contact a representative at ##########"

Is it safe to assume that I will not be charged? Because I might as well buy it from Amazon seeing how its much more hassle free.
my order is shipping soon already and I can not cancel for Onsale
Same, best of luck to all of us lol
Who is having buyer remorse? I think i spent too much money on this
No need for remorse. You could always sell it to someone else.

Having pre-buyer's remorse.
Had a 32gb in cart and decided against it. For some reason the extra 50 bucks was enough to stop me.
If someone told me I could install something else on it, or it supported Chrome, I'd probably jump on it.

I was weighing the options between the 16 and 32 and I came to the conclusion that while I would have buyer's remorse at 160-something after tax and ship, 115 isn't so bad.
I'm planning on buying the most expensive iPad 3, so this needs to be as cheap as possible.

Agreed, $99 + tax, hard to have any remorse on this. That's like buying two games, and I buy enough games as is.

And yes, just sell it on eBay for $199 in a month if you don't want it! :)

I got the exact same thing, and thats how I took it. I'm still going to call them tomorrow and make sure that was cancelled though, I don't want 5 of them at all.

Ive been using my 32 gig Touchpad for a bit and its really awesome. Due to my experience with it, i ordered another 16 gig from amazon, thats how impressed i was with it. WebOS has crap for apps, but the facebook app on it is amazing, and the browser uses hardware acceleration and is quite nice. Angry Birds HD is also quite nice on it. Once Android is ported over this thing will be the ultimate tab.
I think someone just recently posted a way to check if the order went through on one of the last pages but if you ordered from HP small business and didn't receive a confirmation yet and your card was charged then the way I found to check it is through this link.

http://h71016.www7.hp.com/dstore/dc...Action=OrderStatus&oi=E9CED&BEID=19701&SBLID=

As long as you know the login you created to order you can login and check if your order is there. That is how I found mine, mine is processing, so it may be cancelled and I saw my card was charged as well, chances are if it was charged an order has been created. Now good luck getting to the page because it has been on and off working I hope this helps.

So, I just checked this link, and it says no order history found, but still had an authorization from HP on my bank account, think it doesn't really exist?

anyone else get this?

EDIT: as well as ordering a 16gig fron onsale on amazon, any idea on how to cancel from hp, when it claims the order doesn't even exist?

How easy do you think it'll be to cancel from the SMB website? Unfortunately, there's no "cancel order button" from what I can see.

Really hope this Onsale from Amz works, ordered two. Curious that they listed it the way they did through but I assume it is the HP Touchpad. Thanks OP if this works.
Who is having buyer remorse? I think i spent too much money on this
~$115 can not really cause me buyers remorse. Think about it, an 8GB iPod Nano starts at $150 MSRP.

EDIT: Ordered with no trouble and then told my brother and sister about it. They had to click add to cart a number of times and restart the order because it said out of stock. Mine says shipping soon. I hope they all go through...

Both Touchpads from OnSale are showing as IN STOCK for me on Amazon. I may hedge my bets and spend $70 something outta pocket after burning up my last $33 n change in AMZ cred on one of theirs.;)

Yeah same here, but I heard the cancellation process for HP is hell. Worse case scenario I sell all the tablets for a profit, so yeah no buyer's remorse :applause:

I ordered another one from Onsale via Amazon for $155 after shipping just in case my HP order is cancelled. If all of my orders go through, I would be happy to sell my 16GB to a CAG at cost plus shipping. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it though.
Who is having buyer remorse? I think i spent too much money on this
I wish I snagged a 16gb rather than a 32gb, but as for the product itself....zero buyers remorse.

Its a solid, albeit not spectacular tablet. Lacking apps at the moment. But there are dev teams working already on porting Android over, and when that happens, this will turn into an amazing device.

I pushed my order through after the 'Currently out of stock' notice went live. I printed my order confirmation, but have received no email. Also, I can't find my order when I look it up using the 'Order Status' link on the website (https://h20497.www2.hp.com/os/public.tcl). My order number, according to my confirmation, is seven numerical digits (#######) - is that what I should be using?

Want to know if this order is actually going to work!

It might still exist however what type of authorization is it? Was it for $1.00? Or was it for the full cost and $1.00? If it is both then an order probably exists but for some reason their system is so backed up it hasn't been reflected and if you want to be sure I would call them because if no such order exists and there is an authorization for the full I would make sure they don't charge you unless somehow it ships and you do get it of course. But if there is only a $1.00 authorization I'd be inclined to believe they attempted to make an order but something went wrong (what went wrong I have no idea their servers are getting hammered) and you more than likely will not be charged but I would certainly give them a call either way at their number for small business orders its 1-866-625-0242, for home and office it is 1-888-345-5409. Best of luck to you I hope you get it sorted!

On a side note I'm really shocked that with the sheer volume of orders and all the issues with their servers and cancellations I would think they should just take their sales severs off-line, unrealistic I suppose but the amount of hours the reps for the customer service will have to put in to handle the mess their servers have made is going to be enormous.

EDIT: By the way I would give those numbers a call to cancel but they are only open Monday through Friday so it will have to wait till tomorrow I think its like 8am to 8pm or something in that neighborhood for hours.
