It may be a futile, doomed effort, but they aren't killing and totally orphaning the Touchpad. Yeah, it's going to be limited, but it's ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS! A 9.7" tablet with Gorilla Glass screen for a C-note. Hell, I'm gonna get one just cuz! There's a Kindle app, so BAM!!! $100 eReader!

They're all being sold by 3rd Party stores, the only fulfilled by Amazon, which is also a 3rd party store, is selling for 2 grand.

Yes that's what I was watching. The 32GB deal seems dead for right now though no changes since I last posted.

Use check4change on them and hope I guess. To do that click on the 36 new from XXX link and then monitor any change to the amount being sold. Once check4change goes off check it and hope Amazon is selling one. That's probably not very clear but that's how I'm watching different sites for any new stock. For amazon it's easier if you can at least get them in your cart even if theyre "saved for later". In that case just monitor any changes to the "currently unavailable" line.
 
It is a spreadsheet made by a poster that said he was a Best Buy employee last night. he said that he knew BB stores would be getting more this week and that if people told him their store #s, he would look in their system and tell them if their store is getting more this week.

The spreadsheet is a result of his researching the stores people asked him about only, not every store in the US

My Office Depot order just changed from "3 Days Delivery Pending" to "In Process". I'm taking that as a good thing. F* Yea! Hopefully it arrive on time too! Things are coming up Milhouse!

If this is true, BB will or should run an ad and maximize the effort and marketing. It will get a ton of people in the stores and create some free marketing as well. They have enough time to create an ad for it and get the hype going and offer some other deals as well to really get maximum coverage, marketing...customers and business.

Look for campers and the news stations if it happens...

I agree it is ONLY because of the low price. Those tech minded people out there will know better to pay more for such a limited device and those non techie types who are diving in are only doing so because of the price. Non techies will not buy "second-hand" from a stranger especially at a price they are not comfortable with. Those types will go to the B and M stores if they want to pay more and will go with a better reliable piece.

I hope all those idiots who ordered many get what they deserve ... NADDA.

My kmart 32 just shipped but the price hasn't adjusted from when I talked to cs. Anyone have any idea how long it usually takes for a price adjustment?
 
I keep seeing some seller/someone sending the 16gig for $200ish on Amazon. If you want to spend another $100, that looks like the route to go on Amazon. I think eBay auctions are still around $300+
 
Only one BB in my area shows them coming in and it's out of the way for me. Besides, I should be all set with what I've got coming in. No need to gank a B&M unit from someone who needs one.

they just recycle old numbers by account. you'll see it was delivered like 2010. It'll update tonight.

Has anyone seen any 'silicone' style back cases or anywhere that sells a rubberized skin? I can't find one for the life of me (and I've googled, so don't give me a "can't you google it?"). The back of this tablet needs a little texture...

HP often reuses old tracking numbers. My order shipped yesterday with a used number as well. Wait a few hours and it will update to your current info. It's on the way :)
 
UPS and FedEx only have a finite number of tracking numbers they can use and eventually, they do get recycled. Until the new package with the recycled tracking number gets scanned for the first time, it'll show the old tracking information.

Wait a day after you see the shipping notification and you should see the tracking number show the right information for your shipment.

Edit: Oh, my free stuff got shipped, but my HP is in the warehouse. Better than pending. Muwahaha.

If/when I get one, I plan on taking mine to a store and trying on a few iPad1 skins to see what fits well. You can also take a low-risk chance with the Griffin Flexskin on Amazon. They have them as low as $3 FSSS.

Weird, I just got another order confirmation from HP (Ordered Saturday afternoon from Small Business). This order is for the same items, placed the same day, but shipping is now free. When I go to check my status I still only have the one order (with shipping cost) bur when I click to see it says the order number can't be found. Wondering if that order got "cancelled" and replaced with one with free shipping, and the site is just slow to update with this? Card still hasn't been "fully" charged yet but I suppose a second confirmation is better than a cancellation.

I used the 15% off and got a 16gb for $92~ shipped. Either that rumor about the coupons being invalid for these was false, or the company is just too damn bogged down to enforce it.

I just want to know it shipped so I can stop being paranoid about the order being cancelled or something. Argh.
 
Just got back from a Best Buy that someone earlier said had them....store 147 in cary, nc. After being told they didn't have them, i sat in the parking lot for a few mins and watched 3 employees sneak out to the parking lot with whole cases of them and put them in friends car. Went back in and said i wanted a touchpad and that i know they had them. Tried to say they didnt have any again. I said i saw employees sneaking them out....."oh, well we did get some in today....let me see if we have any left." Of course he came back and said they didnt....how convenient. Said they sold em all earlier. As i was leaving, i saw another employee with another whole case of them.

Probably gonna be alot of this going on at stores that do get them.

I worked there for a few years.... and trucks come in on a couple of different days, but DELIVERIES come everyday. The quantities that are listed could very well come in on a daily run from UPS which happens all the time.
 
Anyone who gets an extra and is feeling generous id be willing to make an offer. I waited in line saturday to no avail and have been tied to google shopper/ telephone all weekend. I live in a highly saturated area so these went in minutes or in most cases employees already purchased or had them on hold. I was trying to grab one to replace my gf broken vaio. Dont want to invest anymore in sony products if I can avoid it.

i never received an email regarding cancellation or confirmation. i woke up one day and i saw a tracking number.
