It may be a futile, doomed effort, but they aren't killing and totally orphaning the Touchpad. Yeah, it's going to be limited, but it's ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS! A 9.7" tablet with Gorilla Glass screen for a C-note. Hell, I'm gonna get one just cuz! There's a Kindle app, so BAM!!! $100 eReader!

Onsale is a joke. I ordered an extra touchpad for my bro. They've yet to update shipping. Also on their Facebook page they've started banning and deleting comments that place them in a negative light. Truth be told what they did is illegal (take any sort of business law level 2 or 3 course as an accounting major and you'll learn this). Online retailers can't charge your credit card till the item leaves the ware house. At that point accountings revenue recognition kicks in and they can say they made a sale. I'm thinking they won't give refunds back for a week or two just to bloat up their Income Statement or use the inflow of cash as a very short term intreats free loan (once again very illegal). By now they know how many units they have in stock. At this point they're dragging their feet being dicks. I wouldn't buy anything from Onsale, MacMall, or PCMall after this event (PC/Mac mall being onsale's parent company).

I'm in Chicago.. when it happened my wife asked me on AIM if I felt an earthquake "right now"... I said I hadn't.. then checked the news and, sure enough, the earthquake had JUST happened and was breaking news... so, yeah... felt a bit in Chicago too.. reports about it being felt in WI as well.

Supposedly some are getting them that had overnight shipping without even a shipping notice, so you may not know until it shows up or your money is refunded.
 
I felt the earthquake in my brooklyn apt. I seriously thought my room got poltergeisted or something because only my desk and monitor started to rock, nothing else in the room did. Weirded me out a bit

Where on earth is the video player in this tablet? I can't find one in the apps or in the app store (which doesn't cost money). This seems unlikely to me.

Just got a shipping confirmation for my 32GB I ordered at about 8:10AM EST from bestbuy.com on Sunday. Awesome. Was worried it wasn't coming after I got my order in comparatively late with them and other CAGs posting that they received their confirmations yesterday.

This and the 16GB I got from the Amazon lightning deal to give to my mom or dad and I am happy.

I have charges from Onsale pending, and charges from Insight also pending. Both orders went through, but if I actually get something, who knows.

This actually worked for me. Turns ouyt it was shipped yesterday and is set to arrive tomorrow. It's at Olive Branch, MS on its way to my home. Hopefully this is accurate because I didn't get any tracking information from HP. I ordered from HP Academy on Friday night.

iPad has a sensor there to do the auto-dim feature. That's what you're seeing. Friend of mine tried to convince himself that would work for the facetime cam on his iPad 2. Needless to say, did not work.

Just like when I was a kid and I went from GB color to GB advance, and those bastards didn't put a power cord recepticle on the fucking thing! had to buy the "adapter" which was a battery pack without a battery

My company I work for uses Insight as a vendor. They are very legit, but I usually don't buy stuff from them cause their stuff is expensive lol.

Still waiting for word from OnSale about the one I ordered for my mom.
 
I just scored an official HP TouchPad case and wireless keyboard for $53 w/ tax at Office Depot :whee:(last one in stock for both items.)

Note - if you're going to try to get one or the other in-store you need to tell the clerk it's on clearance and ask him to look up the price online. That's what he did for me.
 
Maybe I am just paranoid but I did get a UPS tracking number from Best Buy around 8 pm EST yesterday but as of 3:44 pm EST the tracking number still does not work on UPS's website. Should I be concerned?
 
So my K-mart order is officially cancelled. :(

I wouldn't be as upset if they didn't lie to me repeatedly when I called to ask about my order. And when I finally found out it wasn't going to be fulfilled, they could have tried harder than just telling me "There's nothing I can do".

Not having an up-to-date inventory is pretty disappointing and frankly, unprofessional.

I won't be shopping at k-mart anymore. I don't care how good their gaming coupons are.

No, it wont update until UPS physically picks up the package.
