Since everyone is asking for people to get them one when they can't find one on their own, let's try to keep the requests to this thread here:

Dear webOS developer:

We have opened the next chapter for webOS, and we understand that you must have many questions. Yesterday we announced that we will focus on the future of webOS as a software platform but we will no longer be producing webOS devices. While this was a difficult decision, it's one that will strengthen our ability to focus on further innovating with webOS as we forge our path forward. Throughout this journey, our developers will continue to be a vital part of the future of webOS.

We will continue to support, innovate and develop the webOS App Catalog. Our intent is to enhance our merchandising and presentation of your great products and to continue to build our webOS app ecosystem.

As many of you are aware, we are currently scheduled to hold many developer events around the world. We are planning to continue with these events, however, due to the recent announcements; the nature of them will change. These updates will be posted on our events registration site this coming week. We are eager to present to you the updated strategy for webOS and to hear your feedback.

Lastly, I wish to express our sincere appreciation for your ongoing support for webOS and the many teams responsible for it here at HP. This is a particularly dynamic time in the mobile industry and sometimes tough decisions need to be made about not only what to do, but also what not to do. This has been one of those times. Together with our great webOS developer community, we are confident that we will meet the challenges ahead and build momentum for optimal success.

We will be communicating with you frequently over the next few weeks and we look forward to hearing from you throughout this process.

Thanks for your support

It may be a futile, doomed effort, but they aren't killing and totally orphaning the Touchpad. Yeah, it's going to be limited, but it's ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS! A 9.7" tablet with Gorilla Glass screen for a C-note. Hell, I'm gonna get one just cuz! There's a Kindle app, so BAM!!! $100 eReader!

I think going to Best Buy Sunday was my best move. Looks like nothing but cancellations from online retailers honestly now. Hope you guys the best of luck! They are worth the cash!

Went by Office Depot to pick up an HP case. They had none on the shelves but had a few sat away on hold. I told the guy, "on hold? If I knew stores did that for on sale/clearance items I would've did that shit days ago!" I proceeded to try and locate it to purchase with no luck.

Note: I don't have a tablet...yet.

Haha, damn dude. And YOU were the one who first posted the lower price. I'm starting to think my estimate of them even having 10 touchpads in stock was a bit generous. That's ing ridiculous. People were ordering from them for a good 3 hours, and now they're going to claim they were sold out in less than 4 minutes. What a ing joke.

LOL, I know, right? Sorry I wasted everyone's time. Seriously these people are some of the worst of the worst...it's one thing if you oversell, but at least CANCEL the orders. Why were they confirmed in the first place? Why did it take days for them to figure it out?

They have no excuse. Amazon has retailers set their inventory to a certain amount, retailers also have to confirm the orders -- they obviously struck out on BOTH counts.

They fucking suck, is pretty much all there is to say.
Bestbuy.com has the touchstone and case back in stock. $39.99 for touchstone, $24.99 for case.
Bought the TouchStone with in store pickup.... but the case is actually cheaper on Amazon right now because no stores by me have it for pickup.
Amazon also did PM....Kmart also did PM...Buy also did PM...Sears...forgot others
To every order though? Even for those that got it at launch?

onFail finally sent me a cancellation e-mail... way after everybody else, apparently. They can't even do that right, it seems.
I think going to Best Buy Sunday was my best move.
It was my best move too. But my worst move? Not buying two of them.

Sharing it with the wife sucks!!!

I believe the difference here is Newegg is price adjusting anyone who EVER bought the Touchpad, even the ones who bought it when it came out 2 months ago. That is pretty great.

Damn it just got my cancellation order fuck onsale i hope they go out of business cuz of this bunch of basterds amazon credit back already atleast
Hey - I came up with a new idea. Pick up that phone book at look the electronics companies in your area. Maybe they might have some? Who knows!
Tried that. The few stores that had it said they were sending the items back to HP.

Their reseller rating is pretty good (8.48/10 in the last 6 months) so I'm sure they're not a terrible company in general, but they really handled this situation pretty poorly.

Oh god, QFT! Took the words right out of my mouth!
The few stores that had it said they were sending the items back to HP.
We can only hope that this is true (for as many stores as possible). It would make for a much bigger restock when HP does finally update their site. The more stores sending them back, the better our chances.

a few bb's around here had about 100 that were intransit to the store. This prompted a line of about 150 people trying to get their hands on one. So some people got them but a bunch of people were out of luck

So much for my insight order. 1 hour ago it was being processed, now there is no record of my order. Still have not received a cancellation email.

Very true, but these situations are when it counts and like I said in my review... being upfront or ending it asap would have been best. However not changing status (according to comments) and giving us very little idea past "trying" (which what does that even mean?) we were SOL.

walked into frys today and the greeter gave me a piece of paper that says frys will price match any competitors price online.

i found the touchstone for 49.99 and the case for 24.99...i told the csr that office depot and best buy had them for 39.99/19.99 and he price adjusted them on the spot and printed out an invoice for me to bring to the cashier.

frys price matching poilcy ftw. also, if you buy something from frys and find it in stock/for sale elsewhere cheaper within 30 days, they'll refund you 110% of the difference.

Is their a limit to how many you can get from say a Best Buy? My wife and I want one and then my mom's birthday is coming up so thought this would make a nice little gift

Its a good thing this came around my birthday so I had plenty of money to spend on it. This fucking "sale" has cost me around $250 now...

$150 for the Touchpad
$70 for the keyboard and touchstone (just ordered on Best Buy)
$30 for the case on Amazon a few days ago

On the other hand, I have a VERY kick-ass tablet set up now...

Same here. Although the charges have not yet posted to my account, I'll be happier when they aren't there at all.

HP SMB is playing with my heart. Earlier my order status was cancelled, now I have an email confirmation that is has shipped? At this point I'll believe it when it's in my hands.

Isnt it $40 + $35 + tax = $80ish?
just got my onSale via Amazon cancellation notice. :(
They are starting to roll out the cancellation notices now, family member got one earlier this morning.

Too bad you can only rate the merchant as 1 star. It should be zero. ;)

Probably already posted sorry but Bestbuy.com has accessories for sale right now. You might have to do in store pick up or ship to store but theyre pretty good prices.

Plus I think it's 15% off for ordering 3 accessories or 20% off with 4

HP Case 24.99

HP Inductive Charger 39.99

Edit I see it's already in the OP :)

I'm a little worried.

I ordered from HP SBM on Saturday. 1 32GB Touchpad.
It took about 4 hours refreshing the database errors but finally got an order complete page.
No email until the next night, late.
That email was promising, Confirmation, order numbers, freight line, etc.

It is now Wed, and no other emails.
The online status says it should have shipped yesterday.
I don't mind waiting if I knew I was getting one.
Has anyone that ordered through SBM get cancelled?

Can someone check the best buy locator for me for zip code 15238? When I try to use it, it just goes to a blank screen.
Can someone check the best buy locator for me for zip code 15238? When I try to use it, it just goes to a blank screen.
for...?

I just bought HP stock today. If I make enough money off it to make up for the difference of buying on eBay, I might actually stoop to the humiliating level of paying a hoarder.
Can someone check the best buy locator for me for zip code 15238? When I try to use it, it just goes to a blank screen.
Bring it up again in a new window and try again, or navigate back to the original page before you tried to do the search, and run it again.

I've run into that issue, and going back to the original page or doing it up again in a new window works without issue for me.
