Dear webOS developer:

We have opened the next chapter for webOS, and we understand that you must have many questions. Yesterday we announced that we will focus on the future of webOS as a software platform but we will no longer be producing webOS devices. While this was a difficult decision, it's one that will strengthen our ability to focus on further innovating with webOS as we forge our path forward. Throughout this journey, our developers will continue to be a vital part of the future of webOS.

We will continue to support, innovate and develop the webOS App Catalog. Our intent is to enhance our merchandising and presentation of your great products and to continue to build our webOS app ecosystem.

As many of you are aware, we are currently scheduled to hold many developer events around the world. We are planning to continue with these events, however, due to the recent announcements; the nature of them will change. These updates will be posted on our events registration site this coming week. We are eager to present to you the updated strategy for webOS and to hear your feedback.

Lastly, I wish to express our sincere appreciation for your ongoing support for webOS and the many teams responsible for it here at HP. This is a particularly dynamic time in the mobile industry and sometimes tough decisions need to be made about not only what to do, but also what not to do. This has been one of those times. Together with our great webOS developer community, we are confident that we will meet the challenges ahead and build momentum for optimal success.

We will be communicating with you frequently over the next few weeks and we look forward to hearing from you throughout this process.

Thanks for your support

Richard Kerris
VP webOS Developer Relations

It may be a futile, doomed effort, but they aren't killing and totally orphaning the Touchpad. Yeah, it's going to be limited, but it's ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS! A 9.7" tablet with Gorilla Glass screen for a C-note. Hell, I'm gonna get one just cuz! There's a Kindle app, so BAM!!! $100 eReader!

I didn't know you're a Pittsburgher too! :whee:

All stores say Unavailable, to answer your question.

Niles OH is the only location that shows IN STORE ONLY. But doesnt mean much. Call ahead or drive if close by

Just PM'd best buys price for the touchstone charging dock via staples chat. Ended up getting the dock w/ 1 day shipping (which is free) for $43 after being credited for $43 via price match.

Pretty good deal and fast shipping if you are looking for one. Otherwise buying 3 of the docks and getting them for 50% off +20% for buying 3 is the best deal I think.

Yes I am haha. Thanks for looking. I figured as much. I just have a feeling I won't be getting one of these.

So placed an order for: Charging dock + Keyboard + Case = $91 on BB

Which is cheaper than buying Charging dock $43 on BB and $40 keyboard on Amazon right? :D

If you buy the Touchpad keyboard, case, and touchstone from bestbuy.com there's an extra 15 percent off. Bought all 3 for $91 including tax, which was around the same price I paid for the Tablet from HP EPP. so $180 for a sweet setup, not bad.

well hopefully hp gets more and isnt taken down super fast so i can get one trying since this started still coming up empty pretty sad

My bb had some 32GB earlier today, so of course they showed on tracker couple hours later. Went in anyway, and they're expecting some 16gb 1's later. Wish me luck!

I would not go by that inventory tracker! I know of a few stores where I live that received their shipment but are not selling until tomorrow morning. This was around 12pm and the inventory tracker still shows unavailable for those places.

if hp starts taking more orders before they ship the ones they already have orders for (namely mine) i'm going to be rather upset with them as a company

However, if they come through, I will be sure to praise them :) When did you order yours?
I'm a little worried.

I ordered from HP SBM on Saturday. 1 32GB Touchpad.
It took about 4 hours refreshing the database errors but finally got an order complete page.
No email until the next night, late.
That email was promising, Confirmation, order numbers, freight line, etc.

It is now Wed, and no other emails.
The online status says it should have shipped yesterday.
I don't mind waiting if I knew I was getting one.
Has anyone that ordered through SBM get cancelled?
While I did get the one I ordered for my gf (via bestbuy online), the one I was going to claim as my own was ordered from HP SBM. I got the same type of info you did although my initial ordering went at a lot smoother than yours did (took maybe 3 quick tries to place the order). I haven't been cancelled but I'm not holding my breath either. However, I do have a feeling that most people who really want one will get one at the $100 price. I don't really have anything to go on, but I think HP is just holding back whatever stock they have in reserve until they can clear up all the confusion with the last sale. Once everyone has either gotten a "shipped" or "cancelled" message, that's when they'll sell whatever stock is left. If they did it before that, people in our boat would probably just order another one on the chance we were going to get cancelled. It would be a mess.

Thanks OnSale for taking my two orders, locking up my credit card funds for 3 days, and then cancelling both of my orders! I'll be sure to use you in the future! :bouncy::applause:

crossing my fingers that Datavision is ahead of schedule and gets mine out the door tomorrow. Does anyone know if a blue tooth mouse would work on this?

Theres a lot of ifs involved, but if this gets Android, and Android gets Onlive, and you can use a BT mouse and Keyboard that would be pretty sweet to be able to use it for Onlive. Luckily I got the new Deus Ex to keep me busy til it comes, it really is a very good game.

Ugh..the 1st of my 2 touchpads from HP's store is supposed to be here today according to FedEx tracking. But tracking has not updated since last night. Usually it arrives at the local FedEx and moves to out for delivery...

Probably got stolen by someone at FedEx lol
I would argue that the Ipad isn't 5x better then the Touchpad, so from a value proposition, the Ipad wouldn't be better.
From a purely economical standpoint, of course it's not better. The iPad I got was a gift and I never even considered buying one. Who on here wants to pay full price for anything? All the sh*t we use now will soon be replaced with something "better." That is part of the balance that is kept between market progress and consumerism. The Touchpad will still be dead weight faster than any other current tablet out there.
Very true, but these situations are when it counts and like I said in my review... being upfront or ending it asap would have been best. However not changing status (according to comments) and giving us very little idea past "trying" (which what does that even mean?) we were SOL.
This. Way to dick me around onsale (More like NOsale) and keep me and others in limbo with charges on hold when I could have had an opportunity to get one elsewhere, now there's nowhere else to get one at that price.

Where exactly can you leave negative feedback on their seller page, I noticed a couple on amazon but not sure of how to do it?

FYI (excuse if so \meone already posted this, besides what is one more post among thousands, lol)

As I was going to check on my order I went into the main page ofHP SMB section and read this notice:

"Thank you for your interest in the HP TouchPad

Onsale is a joke. I placed my order through them right away and they still cancelled it. How many did they have like 100? We should all tank their rating on Amazon. Complete garbage.

Eh, we'll see, depends if they can get Android ported to it or not. If that comes through, it will have a pretty good life ahead of it.:)

On sale Tag line "for smart shoppers"...in ur face .when they can sell same stuff on ebay.i wonder how many real order they actually fulfilled .i think amazon should release they number so it can be fair for em and to us as customers too .On sale cancelled my order too after three days .

prices on ebay seem to have gone up, probably with all the OnSale cancellations. glad i jumped ship when i did , still paid over $200 which is embarrassing.

onSale doesn't get your CC info. You pay Amazon, Amazon pays onSale.

Just got my OnSale order canceled and my brother and sister did as well. Motherfuckers. I wouldn't be this mad if they would have cancelled them quickly. Let's ruin their fucking reputation guys!

Please leave cheap ass gamer.

I just have bad luck today. Headed home to visit family in Palm Springs from LA. Store in Palm Desert frees up stock. Went down there. Head over to customer service desk. Line of about 15 people. Think my chances are decent. Guy in front of me buys 2...and that's it. One guy, 2 touchpads. What the balls Best Buy? That's twice today.
Please leave cheap ass gamer.
I did get it over 50% off the original msrp of 1 week ago, and I sure tried to do better.

I did get the Touchstone on sale though, so i got that going for me, which is nice.

My on sale Order was cancelled as well, no surprise but I'm happy I woke up at the right for bb online order for one 32 gb tablet. Anyone know any good screen proffers from eBay or amazon?
Went by Office Depot to pick up an HP case. They had none on the shelves but had a few sat away on hold. I told the guy, "on hold? If I knew stores did that for on sale/clearance items I would've did that shit days ago!" I proceeded to try and locate it to purchase with no luck.

Note: I don't have a tablet...yet.
Same sh*t happened to me and I went out of my way to get them. Turns out they weren't picked up and I was right there with my friggin' money!
Eh, we'll see, depends if they can get Android ported to it or not. If that comes through, it will have a pretty good life ahead of it.:)
I'm pretty sure Android will get ported, and it can be flashed now with some know-how (kinda liking WebOS better myself). But, either way, that's for more experienced users and there won't be any hardware support outside of the warranty, which I can only assume HP will honor.
Thank God i STUCK with OD :D
Me too!

So every store in my area showed up as available on best buy tracker. Sped all the way to the closest one and no go and they say they've been told they won't be getting more.

does anyone know if all the Onsale cancellation notices are out? I don't have my hopes high but it still would give some piece of mind because I dont have an email yet.

But anyway I got a kmart 32 arriving tmrw but the damn thing hasn't price adjusted yet.

Great deal! I'd really take advantage of this if I were you guys! I only need one though.

Hyperlink not working...$250 for 2 16GB TouchPads! No joke!

EDIT: Link doesn't work. Look up New Sealed HP TouchPad 16GB and click on the first one :D.
