It may be a futile, doomed effort, but they aren't killing and totally orphaning the Touchpad. Yeah, it's going to be limited, but it's ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS! A 9.7" tablet with Gorilla Glass screen for a C-note. Hell, I'm gonna get one just cuz! There's a Kindle app, so BAM!!! $100 eReader!

Well if its truly out of stock then it looks like i wont be getting a touchpad, as I doubt that I'll be able to score one at Best Buy tomorrow.
 
Did it just change again? For a moment it went back to the Coming Soon logo. Now, it is back with the OOS button. Does check4change work on images?
 
Got my 32 gig at walmart B&M @ 3am when all of this fiasco started, and my 16 gig from amazon/onsale for my little sister shipped tuesday and is enroute. I wish i was done looking for these things, but my brother, cousins, etc all want one, so im looking around but its near impossible nowadays.

My 32GB was waiting for me when I got home tonight.

I immediately set to updating / disable logging / overclocking. Man, what a difference after using the default settings on the wife's all week.

Between the overclocking, the disable to the logging, and the increased touch sensitivity and smoothness installed, it feels like a night and day improvement to me. Virtually all the hanging, lag and pauses are gone.
 
I just checked my Best Buy thats close to me and it list both as IN STORE ONLY, while the other best buy that are farther away says unavailable. Does that show they would have some before I go up there for nothing?
 
Is there any risk to overheating with overclocking? The only concern I saw people have with it was battery life (which didn't seem to be a huge factor). I just wouldn't want to burn my TouchPad up if I ever get one, but that extra speed...

Looks like there are at least a couple of stores in Richmond that are showing stock, as well as DC...

Best Buys, that is... If I didn't have one on the way from Amazon, I'd probably drive the 45 minutes to the store that showing 16s and 32s in stock.

Only because i ordered it Friday from HP, got my paper yesterday.... Last thing i can buy for a while though.

I've been using mine to stream jazz and blues musics, read news using various apps, play Angry Birds, check e-mail/IMs/etc

Also, ebooks, pdfs, and powerpoints for studying and what not.

This day is going to kill me, lol. I hate sitting around the house waiting for a package to come. I wish they would deliver my Tablet before I went on my trip, lol. I'll be listening for that doorbell though.

My understanding is that Ubuntu actually runs inside a card. You must have a blutooth keyboard though.


Glad to hear people are getting theirs patched up and overclocked. Mine is running at 1.7Ghz and it screams.
 
I only went to 1.5 on both cores, because I always have to temper my paranoia of running a system hot with my desire for speed. I love that the subtitle in Gov'nah changed to Ludicrous Speed when I overclocked it, though. :D

Yea, I just ordered one and they cancelled it, seemingly hours before I started reading cancellations for other people. IDK if there was any rhyme or reason for it- for all I know orders were filled alphabetically or cheapest to ship first. It certainly wasn't FIFO fulfillment.
