It may be a futile, doomed effort, but they aren't killing and totally orphaning the Touchpad. Yeah, it's going to be limited, but it's ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS! A 9.7" tablet with Gorilla Glass screen for a C-note. Hell, I'm gonna get one just cuz! There's a Kindle app, so BAM!!! $100 eReader!

Finally getting my touchpad. Got my 32 gig from the HP site and according to fedex the estimated delivery time is tomorrow. Hope its in the morning since i work in the afternoon and nobody home to accept it. I have. My other 2 orders are still being processed though. Hope they go through soon.

lol yesterday it was the fucking manager who straight up came outside and told everyone they had no more and would not be accepting any shipments. i totally tried to stare him down today but he was runnin all over the place and then disappeared in the back, and his spikey haired lackey who called us all stupid for not being able to read the out of stock sign yesterday was the one who was handing out the claim tickets today. perhaps its time to call best buy cs.

Someone on SD's posted that they got off the phone with HP and they claimed they're most likely gonna keep manufacturing these until the end of September. I don't believe that. And if that's true, I wouldnt believe the price would still be $99/150, but we'll see.
Also, when I got off the phone with CS to cancel my order of accessorizes cuz my touchpad order didnt go through, they tried to talk me out of by stating they would be getting a lot more Touchpads in by Friday. I shouldve used it to my advantage to ask if there would be a limit per customer, but I didnt. Doh!
 
For you guys getting yours today, be sure to check out the Angry Birds easter egg.

Flip it so the orientation has the USB port on the left, and instead of pushing up to close an app, pull it back like a slingshot.

The only thing I don't like so far is the actual lack of apps. The WebOS is amazing for sure (my first experience with it) but I'd go back to the cumbersome Android in a second for the increased app load.

Well that, and the fact that media support kinda sucks. You have to get a 3rd party program to play all movie types but the thing doesn't run great. I've just been sucking it up and converting all my stuff since it then runs smooth.
 
even though my hp smb order received that mass cancellation email yesterday (hence my gallavanting to san jose best buys), i got a confirmation email today and the payment is still pending on my credit card acct. in addition to that, when i check the order status, the tp is marked as backordered. weird huh?
 
Went to two Best Buys this morning, both said the Touchpads weren't in stock; however, thirty minutes later when I call, after I had finally reached work, they told me they have them in stock... And now they are officially out of stock.

Hope my P.C. Richards order comes to the store tomorrow. Ordered that first thing Saturday morning in the store when the sale went live. As I mentioned before, they told me I could of picked it up this past Tuesday, but when I went in they said they are not sure when the shipment was coming in or it even is at all... Really hoping they get it tomorrow.
 
how are you guys getting the stock checker of BB to work? either that or all the BBs in palm beach are sold out.....thank god my orders from amazon and Hp shipped.

At this point, I think I'm just going to stop caring for the most part. If I can grab one from HP's site, fantastic. But I'm not going to go out of my way to drive to BB for the low chance of getting one. I don't care that much in the first place, but it would be nice to have if I could grab it.

Yes, it could be fake. And if its real its obviously up to date; what else would it be? It is what it is; a list of shipment on new trucks. Thats if its real. At this point im sure a lot of people are just trolling us.

Yes you do have to sign up for skype (I didn't have an acct. established either) but you can do it right from the touchpad, it takes 10 seconds, and it's free for the purpose of just accessing the dialer.

ProTip: Set up an account on a PC/Mac at skype.com FIRST. Don't try to create one through the Touchpad.

Then just sign in on the touchpad.

I was trying to create an account for 10 minutes & got frustrated, then did that & had minimal logging in less than a minute.

I am still hunting all over looking for one for my GF & am so burnt out on this it's ridiculous.

I only played Deus Ex for an hour or so since Tuesday!

Not saying whether it's real or not, but assuming a directory of Best Buy stores exists somewhere (I'm sure it does) it would not be a massive undertaking to tack on two columns.
