fuck the people hating on this game.

I don't really know what people were expecting. It's 12 years in the making. I don't understand why people were thinking it'd be a 10/10 genre-changing blockbuster. It's a nostalgia filled current gen Duke game. It doesn't feel dated. The level design is fun so far from the 2 hours I've played. The humor is still funny - One loading screen tip said "Take less damage to avoid getting killed" and at one point Duke tries to open a door only for a robot voice to say "Red keycard required" only for Duke to say "Red keycard? fuck that" as he pulls the doors apart. The graphics aren't going to be in competition with BF3, but they're certainly not terrible.

I don't love the 2-weapon limit, but so far I'd say I'm easily getting my money's worth.

What difficulty are you playing on? There's a couple of points I've wasted a lot of time on... (playing on hard) :(

Here's my thoughts:
Shut the fuck up, Trashkan
Finally got around to beating Killzone 3 :whee:
Send it to me, dude. :bouncy:

But no boot melee? Come on! I'll still get it when it's cheaper, I really want to play through it.

Child of Eden is so good. Gonna go back and play it some more.

Does CoE take pictures of you jumping around like a monkey and post it to facebook like Kinect Adventures (or whatever Kinect title that was)?

Morning, OTT.
Somebody buy my Dreamcast games off of me.
What do you have?
fuck, I forgot that The Fellowship of the Ring Extended was in theaters tonight.
Not playing in my area. /sad

What game should I clear next from my collection?
Nah, but I think I've shown white men can jump.
First day of work in Hanover. A bit nervous since it'll be all new people for me, but also a little bit annoyed that other than when I go in today, I know nothing else about my work schedule.

I am excited to read about Paul Anderson's The Master, the cast looks solid but I wonder if the cult's Hollywood legal machine and "star power" will shut it down.

What do you got in there, Maklershelter?

I really want to purchase Skyrim when it comes out, but I don't think I would ever finish it. It looks like one of those games where I would do every possible thing and then get burnt out on it before I actually beat it.

Wow.
If that's up to date, I'm surprised you haven't beaten God of War collection but you've beat #3. Frosty will tell you Darksiders is really good, MGS4 is awesome if you like the series and Fallout 3 was awesome.

I bought that for $4.95 at Target after I read about the easy 1k 'cheezes in 3 minutes.

Ahahaha.... Gears of Effect 3 is a reality:

ME3 multiplayer details leak [BioWare Responds - Changes No Multiplayer Stance] #1
Courtesy of deathberry

http://tbreak.com/megamers/29135/new...layer-details/

seems to be true. May be it's the reason of delay.

Quote:
Additionally, our source also detailed some parts of the multiplayer campaign. Here’s what we’ve been told:

The game will feature a Horde style multiplayer mode with “crap loads” of maps.
It will also have the regular modes such as Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Capture the Flag.
The Horde mode will have objectives like Capture The Flag, King of the Hill, and simple shoot-to-kill ‘waves’ as well.
Up to four players can play cooperatively in the Horde mode.
Maps are “fairly small” but well designed.
Players can choose from 6 different classes, or use a prebuilt one’s. Our source didn’t confirm what those classes were, but we reckon all those from ME2 will be present.
There will be a level cap of 60.
Some of the enemies were confirmed as well: Geth, Marauders, Husks, and a new enemy type called Brutes. The source described them as insanely “huge ass”.
The game will also feature a ‘multiplayer store’. The store will carry upgrades for weapons, etc. and other items.
Players will be able to buy said upgrades and items by earning in-game money based on their performance in the multiplayer. Our source wasn’t sure if the in-game money can be earned via the single player campaign as well, “but I doubt it. Seems like the (singleplayer and multiplayer) modes will be separate.”

Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. No need for multiplayer in Mass Effect.

Mak, play Condemned: Criminal Origins.

Sounds kinda cool but games like Uncharted and Mass Effect don't need this. Although I guess what does it matter .. its not like they're gonna charge more for a mp mode. So more bang for the buck.

That pretty much sums up all of my feelings. Having a ton of fun so far, and I laughed quite a bit when it made fun of Gears' big "emotional" moment.
Morning, OTT.

What do you have?
NBA2K
Sydney 2000
Ultimate Fighting Championship
Sega GT
Japanese version of Seaman

You can have all of them for $2 plus whatever it costs to ship them.

Well I have finally played the first truly worthwhile game on my 3DS.

Link's Awakening!

Hopefully I'll beat it, I got stuck in LttP. The only Zelda game I ever beat was Minish Cap...

Minish Cap is one of the few Zelda games I never played. Link's Awakening was one of my favorite games. fucking Windfish egg haunted my dreams as a child.

Fairly "easy' day on my first day at the new store. Was just setting up pegoramas or whatever they're called. I think being on "vacation" for two weeks made me rusty though. I do feel tired now.

I played that, I played Phantom Hourglass for a while but stopped for some reason, and I played LttP for a while. Other than that I've only played small amount of TP. And now Link's Awakening.

I think I played all of them from NES to N64, including Gameboy games before the colored ones came out (yeah, I said it). After that, I missed out on any that may have been on the Gamecube and even though my little sister has a Twilight Princess upstairs with a wii she never plays I haven't taken the initiative to play it.

I have but it wasn't my thing. At least what I saw wasn't. I understand that one of the creators is a CAG.

Battle Los Angeles is out on blu-ray already? I thought that was coming out this summer. I'm out of it.

No...way...

Archer is a lot like Frisky Dingo from Adult Swim. Same artistic style, same humor and a lot of the same voice actors I think. You have to pick it up from episode one to get a lot of the jokes though so to pick it up half way through makes it seem stupid. ...Even though it is really stupid.

The organ player in Vancouver is way better than the one in Boston. I really want Vancouver to pull their shit together and win this one.

I must've missed that part?
I laughed my ass off at the poke at Halo though... "Power armor is for pussies."

Right after that area you meet a EDF grunt with a bandana that looks strikingly similar to a (normally proportioned) Marcus. He apologizes for being late and blames it on having to help "his whiney partner find his wife or something" complete with snide tone.

Just beat the Queen and taking a break. Trying to get the Gunslinger achievement while playing through on hard. Fucking hard as hell always keeping the pistol as one of your weapons.

I think I remember what you're talking about now...

It can be -- I had to drop the gold gun on the Queen boss fight and pick it up as I ran up to get the QTE activator.

A lot of the humor in this game is pretty amusing. I love Duke spouting one liners when you get a headshot and whatnot.

I can't stop watching Nazi stuff from WWII as of late. I guess as a grade schooler it was just something I had to learn and I just didn't take it seriously enough for it to hit home and now it's just fucking unreal. All the color images from Nazi Germany make it look like something out of a movie but show just how easy it was to get swept up in once they took power.

I bought myself a Razr Onza TE today.

While it does not feel as heavy as a regular 360 controller, the features on it are great. I love how the analog sticks can be customized to be either loosely or tight to my liking. The DPad is a great improvement over the regular dpad. The triggers don't feel as satisfying as the 360 ones, but I think it's something I can get used to over time. The ABXY buttons light up (Which I think is cool but unnecessary) and are more touch sensitive than the 360 controller's. Not sure If I like this since it makes it feel cheap and I feel the buttons might get harder to press overtime due to wear and tear. The addition of 2 remappable buttons are great. I can finally drop shot in COD with it feeling entirely awkward or changing the controller mappings I'm used to. I think it's well worth the price for what they give you.

Hopefully in the future they have a wireless version with more customizable buttons. As of right now, I could not map the R3(click in) stick nor the directions on the DPad on the remappable buttons. I'm sure they'll implement this into future controllers if this one is successful enough.

I'm going to not smoke and stay anxious today.

Anyone uppins play Far Cry 2? I started it last night but I'm feeling iffy about it. I just saw its 15 hours to play through and I'm not sure I want to dedicate that time to something like this. Everything about it seems clunky and antiquated. I know its not that old but it feels like an xbox 1 or ps2 attempt at the first open world game.

You know what I just realized? Apparently the store I went to to check for Vanquish was the wrong store. I was at Target Galleria, not York West. Sonuva...

I am a big proponent of that game. Easily one of my favorite open world games, the possibilities are endless. I will admit it feels clunky and some of the design choices are absolute dick (I'm looking at you malaria and security checkpoints) but I loved the setting. Some days I'd just hop into a jeep and drive across the savannah at sunrise.

Once you really get into the open nature of the missions it gets a lot more fun. Taking out convoys with IEDs or using fire propagation to torch a field of enemies is incredibly satisfying and beats the hell out of "shoot guys until there aren't guys to shoot" that every other FPS goes through.

Well I'll give it another 2 or 3 hours and if it doesn't get me by then I'm done.

Besides the security checkpoints and malaria, I found the core game is actually really fun. The whole open world in a FPS really works because it opens your possibilities on offering different ways to approach a mission and firefight.
