So... I saw the thread with Sims 2 for PC used at $14.99... it got me thinking, what if EB is FINALLY clearancing all their used PC games? Sure enough, they are.. the prices got changed around April 6th, here is what I personally got:

Swat 4 - $7.99
Neverwinter Nights Platinum Edition - $14.99
Alpha Centauri - 99 cents
Master of Orion 2 - 99 cents
Divine Divinity - $2.99
Septerra Core - 99 cents
Thief 2 - 99 cents

What I saw:

Neverwinter Nights - $4.99
NWN: Hordes of Underdark - $1.99
Beyond Divinity - $2.99
Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge - 99 cents
Dungeon Siege 2 - Pretty sure it was under $15
Sims 2 - $14.99

The rule is the prices are anywhere from 99 cents to $14.99...newer PC games that are $34.99 used (Sims 2, NWN Platinum) rang up $14.99. Some games had the stickers changed, some didn't, but this isn't YMMV, this is nation wide on all these games.

Also, the older the game, the cheaper the price.

Happy hunting! I'm going to hit up another 3 EB's on the way home ;)

PS Don't go looking for anything like F.E.A.R, since EB stopped taking used PC games months ago.

3) If a situation arises when the customer thinks the marked prices are still correct, but the real prices are much lower, then the employee can usually add in a pre-order and still end up with a lower total price then the marked one. The customer is just happy that the price is lower than expected and pays without a hitch. This is one of the easiest ways to raise your pre-order totals.
This one I can personally vouch for; I bought a preowned game and they gave me the 10% off discount when I didn't even have the card. They tacked on a GPG, but I didn't care since the discount covered the cost of it, and the clerks are otherwise cool guys.

So do all of these used PC games come with the box/manuals or is it YMMV on how they are sold? I.e. Box + Manuals, Box No Manuals, Jewel Case, etc?
So do all of these used PC games come with the box/manuals or is it YMMV on how they are sold? I.e. Box + Manuals, Box No Manuals, Jewel Case, etc?
YMMV on how they were traded in.

My Swat 4 and Neverwinter Nights Platinum came in their original boxes, with manuals, jewel cases, everything.

All the other games came cd only, some in jewel cases, some in slipcovers. Hitman had the original jewel case.

At all the stores I've been to, the newer games have been complete, while the older ones are CD only.

Remember to do a bit of digging, like always.

The EB nearest my college had complete crap for the most part...but in the piles of the Army Men War Chest and Madden 2001 was one copy of KOTOR, in two slimline jewel cases that were taped together.

It's going to be worth my time and the $6 it cost me. :)

Picked up Unreal Tournament 2004 and Syberia for $2.99 each. Even if I only get to play a few games of UT online I'd say it's worth it.

I've got a huge list of about 20 games to post up that I scored today and alot of games I just saw and figured CAG would be interested... gonna do the main ones from memory and go back through later to add the rest.

Command and Conquer Generals: Deluxe Edition - $2.99
LOTR: Battle for Middle Earth - $7.99
Thief 3 - $4.99
Myst IV: Revelation - $9.99
Command and Conquer Red Alert 2 - 99 cents
SiN - 99 cents
SiN: Wages of SiN (expansion) - $1.99
Sid Meier's Pirates! - $11.99
Hitman Contracts - $5.99
Mafia - $5.99
Enclave - 99 cents
Revenant - 99 cents
Splinter Cell - 99 cents
Splinter Cell: Pandora Tommorrow - $4.99
Tron 2.0 - $2.99
Zeus - 99 cents
Knights of the Old Republic - $4.99

Wow... am I the only one who cares about this sale? I picked up at another EB -

Command and Conquer Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge expansion - 99 cents
S.W.A.T 2 - 99 cents
Soldier of Fortune - 99 cents

And I saw, tried to buy, but they couldn't find the games:

Jedi Knight III: Jedi Academy - $4.99
Max Payne - $1.99
Baldur's Gate - $2.99

And some extra prices:

X2: The Threat - $7.99
Full Throttle - $9.99 (kinda pricey... is it worth getting for $10??)
I think you're the only one with an EB, or multiple EBs as the case may be, that still sells PC games unfortunately.
I think so... some EB's only had 15 - 20 PC games, while others had 50 - 100, easily... hell, I think one EB had about 200, for some reason.

I pretty much managed to find every awesome game I was missing from the last 5 or so years for 99 cents, though.

Yea, I was happy with what I found, but I also had to sift through a lot of CRAP... dozens of copies of EA Sports game '03 and '04, Deer Hunter, $5 copies of Counterstrike/Half-Life (why this is more expensive than games like Unreal Tournament 2004 is beyond me) and other chaff. I'd be willing to bet a lot of others were just as "lucky" and got discouraged by most of the crap and didn't waste their time looking at every game.

The only reason I found C&C:Yuri's Revenge is because I read the price sticker... the rest of the case was empty and had no other markings on it.

I just got really lucky, it's how I found a good 6 or 7 of my games.
I also had to sift through a lot of CRAP... Deer Hunter...
For the record, the original Deer Hunter was more of a commercial success (in terms of production budget vs. net profit) than most triple-A titles.
Full Throttle - $9.99 (kinda pricey... is it worth getting for $10??)
Yeah, thats kinda pricey, but worth it IMO. Especially b/c you really can't find them anymore. I love those old Lucasarts games and am actually pretty disappointed I never bought that one or the later Monkey Island games, I own all the other ones, aside from The Dig I think.

I wish my EB had as many PC games as yours does, and my GS doesn't even sell them anymore. They put out some new ones the other day but didn't get to check them out as I was with the girl and went just to trade in on that deal.

First, Full Throttle is absolutely worth $10. The only downside to the game is its length. The upsides are too numerous to list, but overall it's definitely my favorite adventure game.

Second, if anybody sees Deus Ex: Invisible War, PASS!!! I just bought it yesterday for $3.18, installed it today, and found out (too late) that the game runs terribly even on a system with double the recommended specs.

Basically, I can play Doom 3 alright with some tweaking, Half-Life 2 and other Source engine games quite well, but Deus Ex runs horribly even at the lowest resolution and settings.

And, supposedly, the game sucks anyway.

Is it worth $3.18? Probably. Is it worth your time? Probably not.

Deus Ex: IW was crappily coded, hence the computer problems. I don't know of anyone who could run it smoothly on PC. Glad I didn't pay more than $1 for it :D

I actually ran DE:IW fine.

anyway, I found Silent Hunter 3 for 7.99. Picked it up, brought it home and....found out it had Starforce. Looked for a workaround for half an hour, got back in the car and took it right back to the store.

Damnit, that game looked sweet too.

you didnt open it right? i wonder if starforce is a plausible reason to return it after opening

No, I didn't open it. When I was reading the back in the store I saw that Ubi published it and there was a little box in the corner saying "This software may be incompatible with some CDRWs, DVDRWs and Virtual Drives." I still picked it up but made sure to do some homework on it before I cracked it open.
I actually ran DE:IW fine.
Ditto whay he said. I got DE:IW when it was first released, and it ran well enough. Furthermore, the community-released add-on texture packs really enhance the graphics tremendously. The DE:IW soundtrack is great as well.

Had the hype surrounding the game's release not been so, well, "hyped", it would have been considered a decent game judged on its own merits. (The same could be said for Thief: Dark Shadows.)

Am I the only person around who's EB's still had used PC games? I picked up even MORE deals today!!

Morrowind: Game of the Year Edition - $8.99
Baldur's Gate 2: Throne of Bhaal (Expansion) - 99 cents
Shogo: Mobile Armored Division - 99 cents

The Longest Journey - $0.95

Original 4-disc version. Not original packaging.

I've been searching for that for a while. I eventually just downloaded it and have been enjoying the crap out of it. Now, I have a legit copy. Woot.

I also picked up Bang: Gunship Elite for $2.XX. I've played the Dreamcast version, so I knew what I was getting in to. Pretty cool.

OSS this deal My EB 'Got rid of' all there used PC games a few days ago so buy quick (and if someone could pick me up a couple of games PM me I'll pay cash or trade.

RAWR. I want to find a Longest Journey. I picked up Jack the Ripper today for $2.80. I love Adventure Games, so I hope it's a decent buy. If not, thanks to EB/GS's new return policy, I can return it. No more of that "if you open it you have to keep it" crap.

Yeah, all my local EBs either shipped their stuff back to corporate or shipped them to another store. After calling about 10 places, finding the 3 used game depots and nitpicking them over, I'm done. All I got was a copy of Rise of Nations for 6.99 and a Day of Defeat for 3.99. Still haven't gotten around to RoN, lol.

You sir, are a lucky bastard. :D If you happen upon an Arcanum, I would gladly purchase as many whores as you would like.

I know where one is, but I don't know the price of it, I might be in that area tommorrow.

I can't make any promises, though, since this EB was missing about half the games I brought up to buy, so it might not even be there.

If you've got Paypal, hit me up with a PM.

As I'd mentioned earlier in the thread, Arcanum is $2.99. (that copy I'm keeping for myself)

I just got back home from college, and I don't know what happened, but my mall's EB's giant wall o' PC games shrunk down to one little cart. Both sides full, and only the bottom row of one had used titles. I only wound up getting Duke Nukem Manhattan Project and Syberia there, though I have (but never completed) the Xbox version.

Then I go to an EBGames close to my house and they have signage up for Buy 3, Get 2 Free on the used PC games. Didn't see anything about that at the mall store, but it wasn't like I found enough there anyway. So that's an extra little YMMV deal that you may want to look into.
Why are these places getting rid of their used PC games? Sorry, I'm out of the loop...
EB stopped taking in used PC games after it was announced that they were merging with Gamestop, since Gamestop doesn't buy/sell used PC games.
SiN: Wages of SiN (expansion) - $1.99
Ha! I got you beat. I only paid $0.87 for Wages of SiN at EB shortly after it was released.

I had a pretty decent haul today, between the PC games and the recent GS/EB price drops. All this from the University Square EB in University Heights.

Morrowind (PH) XBox - $4.99
Top Spin/NCAA Football 2005 XBox - $2.99
Jet Set Radio Future/Sega GT XBox - $0.99
Madden 2002 GC - $0.99
Dreamcast Lightgun - $7.99

Starcraft - $0.99
Brood War - $0.99
ended up getting these two free as part of the B3G2 that this store was running
Counterstrike - $5.99
007 Nightfire - $0.99
Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring - $5.99 (needed a 5th game)

The rest of the PC section was pretty empty save for a copy of Pirates and a few copies of Sacred ($12.99).

I hate you J/K lol my store got rid of all there used games no sale.

EDIT: if some one finds starcraft and Rise of nations Throne&patriot please pick me up one. I'll buy/trade for it

Wow, this is the sale that keeps on giving for me. One of the EB's near my girlfriend's house a few towns over keeps getting restocked on PC games... I find something new everytime I go over there. Today's awesome find:

Dungeon Siege: Legends of Aranna (Expansion pack and full game) - $4.99
Ooooooooo, restocks?

Time to make another run.
It's just this one store, for some reason, out of all of them. I know for a fact DS: Legends of Aranna wasn't there before because I would have snatched it months ago when I dug through their pile.

I remember hearing when I visited a bunch of different stores earlier in the sale that stores where used PC games didn't sell as well would be sending stock to stores where they did.

found the Sims 2 down at the Capital Mall in Olympia, too bad i'm no longer really a fan of the game. it was probably dirt cheap.

I went to this magic EB that keeps on getting restocks... not alot new this time, but I did managed to snag Freedom Fighters for 99 cents.

I've always wanted to try it, I'm not gonna pass it up for a dollar.

Good find. I played Freedom Fighters more than Warcraft 3, Rise of Nations, Brood War, and numerous others that people have listed here.

Not that it's all-out better, mind you...It's just a very pick-up-and-play action game. Great music too.

Id love swat 4, if you find a copy of it would you mind picking it up for me, I can send you over something in exchange or a lovely check. PM me anyone who is willing.
