Humble Bundle Thread

What's the general consensus with Humble Jumbo Bundle 6? I kinda want Magicka 2 and the 10% off humble bundle is okay but everything else I'm not so sure.
  • Oceanhorn is supposedly one of the better Zelda clones, but it's still a Zelda clone and those are not historically very good. (It does have a score by Nobuo Uematsu, though, so, you know, if that's your thing... but no soundtrack included. Ugh.)
  • Shadowrun Chronicles is the shitty offshoot of the new Shadowrun games.
  • I know nothing of Warmachine Tactics.
  • Shadowrun Dragonfall is supposed to be really good if you like turn-based strategic RPG combat.
  • Dreamfall Chapters is probably going to bundled to death within a year.
  • Magicka 2 is... well, it's Magicka 2. You already know if you want it or not.
  • And humble high tier is humble high tier, forget that noise.
On a related note, does anybody know if the monthly coupon is available at the low, low price of a penny, or do they actually make you cough up a buck like they do for Steam keys?

You need to pay at least a buck for the monthly coupon, still saves you $0.20 plus some free games though!

I might have to do that, or wait for next monthly bundle. I don't want stick of truth, This War of Mine is nice. But I doubt that there will be a good game I want with the hidden ones. Too much of a gamble this month, Feb and March were insta buys with Alien Isolation and ARK. What you guys think?

I think The Longest Journey was bundled only once or twice, and has a different publisher. Dreamfall: The Longest Journey was never bundled. I don't see why you'd think Dreamfall Chapters will be bundled to death.

Also, I thought you died. y u no post for so long

Oh, wait, I was confusing Dreamfall with Syberia. It has been a long time.

I've been in Singapore the last ~three months, and haven't really had the energy to follow deals, so I've just been fakecagging the hell out of life.

I gotta admit, it feels pretty good.

Got that job with imgur or whatever company it was that was recruiting people for training in Singapore for three months before letting them work from anywhere in the world? Don't really remember the company, but I definitely saw the advertisement somewhere and thought about it. I think I posted the huge-ass picture from their website on here in December.

I'm actually between jobs and decided to visit family here, but now I wish it was whatever that was. Curse you, adblock.

I suppose they're going to skip all the Bjorn son of Fjorn son of Thorn son of Gorn son of Ford bits. The LOTR books had a fuckton of padding.
Why aren't you asking the important question?

WILL THERE BE FLAC SOUNDTRACKS????? OR AT LEAST REMUTE CHIPTUNE RENDERINGS OF SUCH WHILE HE'S IN HIS BUBBLE BATH????

RIP Humble Weekly bundle.

With Humble Indie Bundle 16, we added a second bundle to our main page, and we plan to follow that schedule going forward: offering a new two-week-long bundle every week. Starting today, we will complete the transition with a new tab layout for our site.

In an effort to make bundling even simpler, we now have two handy tabs: “Games” and “Books.” Under those two tabs, you can find the different game and book bundles.

While this does mean it’s time to bid farewell to our friend, the Humble Weekly Bundle, we’ll continue to have have week-long bundles from time to time as special promotions.

We invite you to click around a bit to get a feel for the new tabs. We know there might be a small adjustment period, but maybe you can pass the time by sipping on some, um, Tab?

Thank you for your support, and keep checking in for more bundles!

From the Humble blog: "While this does mean it’s time to bid farewell to our friend, the Humble Weekly Bundle, we’ll continue to have have week-long bundles from time to time as special promotions."

He spends ages describing something that would be best left to a friggin addendum. I can recognize the man's astounding work at creating a believable universe, but most of that is still boring as fuck.
I disagree on all parts of that, though I recognize that boring is subjective. Tolkien wrote as a scholar, and by nature his writing has a scholarly tone. I maintain that tone is an essential part of what makes his work as compelling as it is.

Couple of things:

1) Humble supposedly switched TT with RotK because it was a "mistake". They've pulled this shit before though, so.

B) The audiobook versions of the books are actually radio plays. But not even the good ones from the BBC in the 80s, but the shitty ones from NPR in the 70s. I imagine many of you will be disappointed.

Charlie) I don't mind the weekly going away. The weeklys were introduced/good because the main bundle was so infrequent. Now we basically have at least 1 a month, if not more. Hopefully the average bundle quality will rise with this change (we've had some pretty good back to back bundles).

I think Humble could benefit from spreading itself less thin, but this, combined with the support layoffs, and how hard they're pushing the Monthlys (which I'm sure the axing of the Weeklys has something to do with) are probably indicators that things aren't going great over there outside of the Monthly subs..

I knew they were going to say that and I believe that about as much as I believe the story about LostNumber's brother having a meltdown on his account.

They were seeing what they could get away with and when people called them on their shittiness they backed off and played ignorant of any ill intent.

In fact all they've been doing for some time now is 'experimenting' with different pricing models and they've admitted as such in the past. This was just another experiment and I guess they found a line they shouldn't cross now. :p

Shameless copy of my comment from the steam thread, but

Just letting everyone know that the Humble Jumbo 16 games are available on tremor, Grey Goo is pretty expensive at 4300 coins but seems better than paying $12 for the entire bundle only for that game. Dreamfall is also available for about 1200 coins too

http://www.tremorgam...php?action=shop
how much is 4300 coins in real life money?

I am debating whether to start Tremorbro or just find someone who want to split Tier 3 at a fair price

Hahaha... Well it use to kind of be a standard that 900 coins= 1 real US dollar, but Tremor has gotten strange lately. You can now buy tremorcoins with paypal for around 550-625 coins per dollar, but that is a fuck ing rip off.

The thing is, while 4300 coins is roughly $4.75 according to the original standard, it'll take you quite some time to gain all that coin unless you buy stuff through offers or if you register yourself (or John Smith right down the street at 123 Ave) for "giveaways". I use to be a big tremor nut and got like 45,000 coins through offers alone in less than a month, but thinking back on it, that was kind of a big waste of time. Unless you want to wear out your mouse buttons and stay up late to get good games, I would suggest just getting games from group buys. I am assuming many people here though have hoards of coins just sitting around though lol.

Eh, I value coins as 1:1 (dollars:coins). Math is hard so I don't care if tremor wants to value them differently.

... Humble has only ever had that one game music bundle, hasn't it? The one with the Valkyria Chronicles album?

Also, d'aww, you care. <3
:)

I do honestly wonder why they haven't done more music bundles. Seems like plenty of indie musicians would love the exposure a Humble Bundle would give them, and Humble has a huge customer base who would jump on cheap music bundles.

Maybe Humble doesn't want to copy Groupees and incur the wrath of Jonny Cappuccino.

I've noticed (and complained) that they seem to be including less and less music in their bundles now. Sucks for me.

Just noticed that they changed the expiration date for the monthly coupons from the Star Wars/Jumbo bundles. They now expire on May 6th.. meaning my Jumbo coupon isn't useless to me now.

I wonder how long they will keep the coupons up. Kinda surprised they haven't moved them back to BTA tier.

Basically my first thought when I saw the news on Reddit (or here, can't remember) yesterday. Good to know we'll have 2 more months of cheaper monthlies though.

Is this why you're always asking me if I need Tremor coins? :bouncy:
Spoder is keenly aware of your lack of penises, yes.

I bought an extra gift copy of the $1 tier of a bundle a week or so ago. Can I just redeem it on my account and add the keys to my notepad list of "extra keys"? If I keep it in email I will eventually forget it exists. Just wondering if it will give me the keys since I did buy the bundle non gift on my account too.

Yes, you can.

Damn, outquipped. I concede. :bouncy:

Humble's running a Team17 Build a Bundle thing up to 85% off. It's mostly the usual bundle fodder Worms crap... plus Flockers and LA Cops.

https://www.humblebundle.com/store/bundle/team17

They also have a bunch of 2K Games packs at honestly laughable marked up prices. Spec Ops The Line and The Darkness II for fifteen bucks? Hahahahahahahahahahaha

I just read something about this on the previous page...

Is everyone else getting Pay What You Want! as long as what you want to pay is $25 for the MIX Digital Preview Ticket bundle?

bah, forgot that they changed the control. Still, any reason to go more than a penny on this one? It doesn't look like they'll be adding keys for anything on this one does it?
