Humble Bundle Thread

# 2 is true but for a slightly more nuanced response--the reason is that none of these Stardock games (Galactic Civilizations X or Fallen Elemental Enchantress) have any kind of overarching story beyond the idea that other factions are present who probably want to either kill you or be your friend and "there can be only one" (so, in other words, it's basically like the Sid Meier games in that context).
well for me Civ V is better for new comers like me b/c it is more accessible unlike Civ IV or even III. I heard that Crusader King and other Paradox's grand strategy game are very hard to get into & quite complex to even begin (with their crappy tutorial) so I would like to know which one i should start on.

I'd like to grab KoFXIII from the new bundle, and I'm willing to put $1 for it... who's with me? You can keep the bonus games too! ;)

It's the best Humble in quite a while imo too.. if only I didn't own everything here except KOF and GalCiv. Why oh why did I not wait for a bundle before buying these games previously.. such a dilemma deciding whether to drop the buck/BTA for just Galciv/KOF now.

$5.02 now. Hopefully it doesn't get too high before I get home. Pretty shocked, honestly, that KOF is in there, it's the main draw for me along with Van Helsing. I think I have CKII from another bundle.

EDIT: Screw it, I pulled the trigger. I don't see the average price going down, it's a legitimately good bundle.

I've heard that too, but it's not as bad as you think. I'm a 4x/Grand Strategy noob, and have a fairly low tolerance for mysterious, fiddly menus and I found my way around easy enough. I even had a pretty good time with CK2, though I can't honestly say I mastered it.

Even if you buy the bundle exclusively for KoF, you're getting over 80% off on a game that hasn't even hit 75% off before.

Don't own any of the $1 tier so time to spend that hard earned bitcoin. Got everything but KOF from the bta, and not a fighting game player so pass on that unless the unlocks are must have (though bit tempted to see if I can trade bta for 8-ball bundle, just so I can avoid using real money).

I'm actually looking for people to split the bundle with me. I want the OST but already have the game.

I think I had a PM about 2 milliseconds after I pushed post. You can't out spoder spoderman.
lol, it's true! I've seen him playing idling games before on Steam and then respond to a post I made seconds later. I'm pretty sure there's a second monitor involved, and a refresh script.

How dare you think I'm not good enough to spoder without a second monitor and refresh script!

Personally, I think the best way to get into Crusader Kings is to treat it like an RPG or The Sims and just play the family and ignore all the conquering/politicizing etc while working thru the (shitty) interface. Just play some obscure dude in a corner of the map away from the battlelines (i.e an Irish count) so that you don't have to worry about game over.

Once you understand the UI and whatever game mechanics you picked up along the way after fiddling around a bit, you can then proceed to (to use a GOT analogue) pretend you're Tywin Lannister (since that's basically what the game is about) and work on plotting your heirs/family into thrones, assassinating children and the like and generally taking over the world.

In term of understanding Paradox's grand strategy games, I would think the EU series is actually the simplest to begin with - just march armies and conquer lands. Before long, you'll find it overly simple and wish the EU games were more complex and have the other games' mechanics in them too (i.e Victoria POPs, HOI units composition, CK families)

^ Probably.  Who knew there were people that didn't own most of the current games already.  I don't have Van Helsing but the demo didn't really appeal to me.

Nice just got a foil from Crusader Kings 2 and immediately sold it for 0.70 profit. Already getting back some of what I gave for it.

Uhh... pretty sure we have everyone to thank :p. The hell doesn't own Terraria by now?
I just traded for it a week or so ago. I know when I did so I figured it wasn't cross-platform so it wouldn't be showing up on Humble unless it was going to be in Humble Jumbo 2. So, er, yeah.

Low, $4.91, semi-stable around 4000 bundles. Though it has been a gradual price slide so far, very small fluxuations.
Now it's over $5.60. Anyone have a tab with it down near the low price? I was away all afternoon.

Yup, I'm pretty sure we put Terraria in this bundle. Sorry about that.

I was here, but stupidly watched it hit $4.80 and did nothing. (Forgot about keeping a tab open.) Now all the plebs know about the bundle and the price'll just keep going up until it reaches a stable point significantly above the low. Guess I have to wait for the bonuses and hope they suck.

It happens. To be fair, I have been the one predicting a Humble Jumbo 2 for about six months now.

There's got to be someone with a still-open tab at $4.something. Ashes?

It'll see what I can do.

Le Sigh. Were you also looking for one? (I'm a little unsure about HB's... you've bought too many bundles mechanic... it's been kicking in after two for me.)

So I ordered this earlier for $5 and the BTA must have risen above that just as I ordered as I did not get the second tier.  Do I have to now beat the current average or am I locked in to whatever it was?  If I am locked in, how do I tell what amount it was at?

Go to raise your payment by another penny and it will tell you how much more you need to add.

I definitely do not. I got the Steam links to the first three and then the DRM free download for Deadlight. Nothing else.

Are you going through the Like what we're doing? Click here to increase your order amount! link?
Indeed I am. I generally know how these things work (though it might not seem that way at the moment). I have never added to an amount before but have tons of bundles. Maybe I need to contact support and ask what's up.

Hot damn, Galactic Civ II had been on my wishlist for quite awhile, waiting for a super cheap price. Very glad to grab it through Humble. I know they're not what they once were, but I still find more value with them than with any other one.

Yeah, I know what I am doing. I have been on that page. The only message I get is the one regarding the Age of Empire games.

Edit: For those only interested in Galactic Civ. I will likely have an extra copy. Would prefer to swap it for some bundle fodder I missed or something. However, I may just toss it out later otherwise.
