Humble Bundle Thread

Meh, I hope it's The Beginner's Guide, though that debuting in a Humble isn't beyond the realm of possibility. It's a game jam award winner, and not saying game jam games can't be good, I believe Robot Roller Disco Derby was a similar situation, but I'd prefer something more polished as one of the main games. But maybe it's just one of those added bonus games, which in that case I wouldn't mind.
I got RAM from a twitter giveaway the other day. I don't really have much of a preference but I'd rather more people own RAM so we can schedule a bronight. A 1 hour long walking sim that has a super vague description doesn't seem all that appealing to me, but to each their own.

Another reason I think it'll be RAM is that the publisher has bundled all of their games multiple times (Ittle Dew, Card City Nights, MURI, Bob Came in Pieces).

Humble's countdown seems ahead of the actual time. Windows clock reads 12:51, but Humble's countdown is 5:40 as of this second.

I'm equally interested in next month's headliner.

Glad I skipped this monthly, those unlocks are really meh for me except possibly the jackbox pack.

I might be in for Soma though, been on my wishlist awhile.

Yea Id say August may be weakest to date. I have slight interest in Planet of the Eyes and Starward Rogue, lesser in Poi. It all feels like Bundle Stars or Gala level quality.

The rest of it is kinda blech espc Final Cut since that was free if you owned VH3.

SOMA makes it tempting for me to subscribe for the first time.

I could see Hamble putting STASIS in the same bundle as SOMA to make a sci-fi horror double whammy.

I'm interested in Van Helsing Final Cut so I may try to swing a trade for that one, but otherwise a very meh lineup.

Yuck. Wish I had skipped this one. I guess I would be happy with it if I didn't have VH Final Cut though.

August monthly:

Van Helsing Final Cut

Jackbox Party Pack 2

Poi

Planet of the Eyes

Starward Rogue

Random Access Murder

September unlock:

SOMA
Man, you guys are a complaining bunch. The COD Pack, Jackbox Party Pack and Van Helsing Final Cut make this a great bundle and I haven't even looked at the other ones. Funny too, considering a lot of you were fakeybroing Van Helsing III to get Final Cut "free" and now it's just a meh unlock because of it.

Definitely subbing early for SOMA, been waiting on a deal and almost bit on it multiple times. The rest of the bundle can be from Digital Homicide and I'll still consider September a win.

I believe that with non headline unlocks such as Wasteland 2 and The Forest being included in bundles past, our expectations have been set pretty high. The Black Ops 3 starter pack is fairly weak as a headliner, but would be alright otherwise.

I wanted Starward and Planet of the Eyes so not too bad.  Weakest bundle so far for me but mostly because I have Final Cut already.  I haven't played it though, might throw the extra at a friend and make him play the game too.  Soma is a good unlock for next month though.

Its all in the eye of the beholder. I base it purely on the quality of games and what I owned/dont own already.

If you already owned BLOPSIII, the COD thing was a wash, but it was possible to make some money back. VHIII wasnt needed to be fakey'd to get Final Cut free. It was in a Steam bundle thing and was very cheap (VHIII) to get if owned the first 2.

While the rest of the games aren't necessary "trash" out of hand, they aren't very enticing on first glance. One positive is that I own none of them, so thats a win just to start. I dont foresee many of these games getting a lot on the trade market outside the initial rush.

I agree about September though. Have wanted Soma since day one, so was easy to decision to early sub.

Definitely subbing for next month. Soma is on my brother's wishlist even though I have zero interest in it. Probably just save it and give him that + something else off his wishlist at the next gift giving opportunity.

I'm sure he'll be very happy.

Mine is just strange. Not gaming deal website account hyjacking strange. If I ever go mental breakdown mode you can rest assured. It is me.

First monthly I am really disappointed in. Best game of the bunch, Jackbox, I already have. Van Helsing is nothing more than a +1 because I have no interest in it. Haven't heard of much else. BLOPs iii is probably the only thing i'll get use out of.

As for Soma, I bought it during the "summer sale". (You're welcome).

I like Jackbox for what it is as I remember playing the original You Dont Know Jack, but no online multiplayer (I know functionally its not easy to do) really hurts it for me. I have no desire to watch a stream to play it.

thanks GilbyFox!

Wanted Jackbox a lot and didn't fall into the VH Final Cut trap so that's another +1 for me.

This is another good bundle if you rarely buy anything else. I'm a happy camper.

:whee:

Do you have them all? cause FC includes the three games.

Moreover: If you have them all why didn't you claimed your free copy of FC when the promo was still on?.
No I don't have all of them. Thanks for answering my question. Since it is called "Van Helsing- Final Cut" I assumed it meant the final version for Van Helsing #1.

Yeah Jackbox is pointless if you're not willing to stream it or watch a stream. It's really fun if you do, but I'm not a streamer so it'd just be a +1 for me that'd never be played.

Are you sure about the VHIII thing? I'm pretty sure it wasn't $2 cheap when people were buying it to get Final Cut. And that's assuming you own I and II.

I agree about the eye of the beholder thing, which is why I don't go around complaining about The Forest and Rocket League monthly being crap just because I already owned those two. I mean, I get it, there's really no AAA blockbuster here (because COD is only partially included) and no huge indie hits either, though Jackbox Party Pack 2 is no slouch. So I don't expect people to be super jazzed about this one.

I mean, I really hate to play Gilby. Seriously, hate, hate, hate to do it, but you have to keep things in perspective. Indiegala and Bundlestars advertise how their bundles are 95% off retail or a little more and the Humble Monthlies average around 90-93% off retail. So the savings are actually very comparable in value. It's just that with other sites you tend to get 1-2 quality game with a bunch of $5 and less trash that probably should be free. Here you get mostly a consistent quality of games that you won't want to kill yourself playing if you choose to do that with your time.

It was like $4 in GabenBux for VHIII, which allowed Final Cut to be gotten free. So the average works out to about that.

I'm pretty sure Van Helsing 3 was around $5. Actually, $5.10. Not that I checked my order history. That's just from memory since obviously I waited for it to be bundled.

Thanks again GilbyFox, with a touch of MysterD.....tell us about yur Mom's VRAMs!!!

Van Helsing isn't a bad addition, but it makes the overall bundle weak when it and COD are the standout titles. I have no interest in upgrading COD and I already own VH so this bundle clearly wasn't meant for me. I did grab Planet of the Eyes and Poi from a split though, so I can't complain too much. SOMA being next month's headliner makes up for what this bundle lacks.

I believe Bah or Weiler would be better to answer that question. I can tell you about their moms VRAMs, but I don't kiss and tell.

Yea, you're right, I didnt look it up, so about $2.55 average for III and Final Cut each. Eh.
Well, that's sort of a misleading comparison. It was $5 because Final Cut makes III individually useless.

Fox's mom uses onboard intel video for her VRAMS. Its as crappy as you would suspect from her.
