Humble Bundle Thread

Yeah. It was in the third tier of a Humble bundle, but that third tier was at a really tempting price, making it a small premium over the BTA. I recall Fox talking up that tier quite a bit here.
I reckon more got PA on Steam directly. It was 85% off summer sale 14. I remember seeing a LOT of people get it then. I remember thinking there was a glitch the day that went onsale b/c so many got it. This is the first time its been in a relatively inexpensive tier.

I'll also counterpoint the "Oh no it has DLC" arguments to Stronghold Keeper. Its a massive game and the DLC is relatively cheap even not on sale and surely will go onsale now that its been bundled. There's also plenty of people with hours into the game stating its unneeded to enjoy it. I get it if you're a nerd who has to own everything before you'll consider installing anything, but for a sub-$5 bundle entry fee, its a good grab IMO. If you dont like the game you're not going to want to bother with the DLC anyway.

IMO this is a good bundle unless you own a lot of it already. Punch Club was also not free to the masses. It was a specific freebie that you had to get lucky to get in the first place. Its also TinyBuilds best selling game of all time and while it undoubtedly will be in other bundles, I wouldnt bet on it going free any time soon. It all depends on if you plan on playing it soon and how much interest you have in doing so. Tinybuild have made some really entertaining games the past few years.

Goddamnit, I suffered through the horror of multiple disappointing sale discounts after skipping that bundle. Let me have this one moment!
Prison Architect was in the $10 tier of HIB #12 on September 9, 2014. It has been 742 days since that bundle launched. I had a BTA of $6.75 for HIB #12 and will assume the same for you. That's a $3.25 cost for Prison Architect in that bundle.

Today's bundle has Prison Architect in the BTA tier (lowest was ~$4.40). Assuming two unlocks for next week it would be 5 games at a $3.40 cost above the $1 tier, which is $0.68 per BTA game.

People who didn't buy Prison Architect in HIB #12 saved $2.57 over roughly two years, or about 2.4 cents per week (not accounting for inflation).

If Prison Architect had been in a $15 tier the wait might have been worth it. In my professional opinion the people who bought the $10 tier of HIB #12 and those who skipped it are all morans regardless.

So basically, time is money.

Pretty much this. When I looked back, I felt really wrong, because I haven't got that $10 tier. It was one of the best major humble bundle after HiB V. If I recall correctly I had spent relatively large amount of money on some other bundles earlier, so those $10 looked steep. $10 for a bundle is always somewhat pricy.

Anyway, I should have got it. I did want them all. Over those two years I managed to get all of those games from trades, but it wasn't particularly cheap or easy.

Gilby'ing away the bundles that make up a dull day
F5 and waste the hours in a pitiful way.
Posting around on cheap ass gamer or group buys.
Waiting for someone or something to offer a trade.

Tired of lurking on the forum watching bots redeem the keys.
You are old and life is short and there's no time to play today.
And then one day you find the +1 quest is now behind you.
Someone said y no wen free, now you're missing DLC.

Anyone getting the BTA tier but not the Miscreated tier? I only want Miscreated, so hopefully someone can help me out.

EDIT - Thanks Xealot42!

I don't remember what I paid for Prison Architect, but I've played it for 41 hours. It's fun as hell and you're missing out if you're even remotely interested in that type of game.

I'm also probably going to buy the BTA of this bundle because I want Punch Club and -- kinda -- want Stronghold 2. No, I didn't get it for free. I'm probably going to play one of them and enjoy them and I won't remember how much I paid for them.

There. I said it. :shame:

Want everything through BTA except Prison Architect which I have already. Anyone want just that?
Only if I seen this post sooner since I bought the bundle for that and roller coaster tycoon 2.

No reason to keep my RC2 cds now that I got from the book fair.

When I seen the option to add 4.99+ for Miscreated Early Access I just laughed.

Miscreated is such an awful $10 tier game, Humble must have gotten lazy, surely they could've chosen something better.
They must be trying to get rid of left over keys for that awful game.

I have 95 hrs, my ex has 98 hours and she isn't even a gamer. I'd say it's totally worth paying the 2cents a week or whatever poor person amount, and they've updated a bunch since I last played. I'm honestly considering BTAing to have a copy to give away.

I think it's one of the few successful titles to leave Early Access, the only other one I can think of is Don't Starve.

Devil Daggers ended up being a surprising gem I would play once in awhile

One of the few games I wished I paid full price.

If you plan on playing RCT2, I highly recommend getting OpenRTC2.

https://openrct2.org/

It makes it run on modern systems, and even includes multiplayer.

I did. Supposedly someone got a key for paying 1 cent, but of course I paid a dollar so I can't confirm if that's true.
I have both a bundle page at $1, and one for a penny. The $1 page has a key, the penny one does not.

Now, this could be because the $1 page is claimed by my account and the penny one is not, but I doubt it.

Not sure why there's so much hate for Miscreated.  It's actually a decent top tier title.  It's been really stingy with the discounts (especially until recently) and this is the first bundle it's in.  While it is another zombie survival game, it's one of the better ones and one of the ones with a pretty solid playerbase compared to others.  I'm sure eventually it'll be in a cheaper bundle, but I don't anticipate that for a while considering how long it took for this initial round of deeper discounts and bundle.

I got Prison Architect from trading just now, so I'm just looking for Roller Coaster Tycoon 2. If anyone has an extra, I can get you something from Tremor.

How does it compare to 7 days to die? Admittedly I went wtf when I saw Miscreated was top tier. it seemed like a relatively unknown EA survival game. That is never a good sign. To be fair I get about as excited about EA survival games as you get about ARPGs.

Hmmm, interesting question. 7DTD is king and for good reason. From what I've played of both, the zombies in 7DTD can be a bit more aggressive. Miscreated feels more focused on looting while 7DTD has more crafting, though the Miscreated devs said they are expanding on the crafting elements as the game goes along. Have not tried base building in either (well a little in 7DTD but that was mostly DFG) so can't speak to that. If zombie survival is not your thing, I think you'll be fine with just 7DTD, but if you like zombie survival games they are different enough where they are each worth playing. The looting is way better/more plentiful in Miscreated.

Count me among the uneducated about Open World Survival Games. It's just not my thing, and I lump them all together -- no questions asked. If I even think I'm going to have to play the game on a server with/against a bunch of snotty-nosed kids that live on it 24/7 breaking my stuff and lying in wait to kill me the moment I spawn in the world, I lose all interest.

I'm sure it's a fine game for fans of the genre. However, from the look of the BTA, I'd say most people feel apathetic towards Miscreated. Humble seems to offer those a lot, so there must be something to it. This one just didn't click with people for whatever reason.

I think Humble offers them a lot because those snot-nosed kids that live on it 24/7 need people playing that they're able to kill the moment they spawn and go around and break their stuff. Because noone actually WANTS to pay for that, but having the people at the bottom of the food chain is necessary for the game to actually have anything going on (Because it has no actual endgame), the dev and publisher basically need to give away copies of the game at some point just to bolster their userbase numbers.

You can play the game on a private server so if you just want to be the only person in the game or have a few friends join that's not an issue. Thats the best way to play anyways, so that nobody else loots all the good stuff.

What Reds said. Yeah, stuff like Rust can be a troll fest depending on the server, but even that one was pretty decent when the bros played it in a public server. We had a few kill on sight people and I killed a few sleeping players, but the best stuff I got was random looting of the world. Other games like The Forest, 7 Days to Die, and this one don't rely on the PvP aspects if you don't want to. I play Miscreated on a random server and enjoy creeping around and looting while trying to avoid the zombies. It's a admittedly weird genre, but if it's what you like this is one of the more enjoyable ones.

Did someone say open world survival game with fuck ing Dinosaurs? Someone here said there was a steam group and CAG server for ARK.

Apparently tomorrow is going to be "Clickteam Fusion 2.5, exporters, games & more". So engine to make games and a couple games that were made using said engine. Bleh, might still buy if I can send money to local animal rescue though.

Edit: Bah, beat me by a few seconds!

I predict this bundle will have Five Nights at Freddy's on the top tier to make the BTA go high.

I predict that all of the games included will be crap, and I don't need to use my psychic powers to call that one. Yes, what we really needed was another game-maker bundle. Did you guys put your prototypes into EA from the last one yet?!
