I completely understand why they have partnered with Pewdiepie.  Whether you like his videos or not (which the large portion of people in this thread seem to not), he is extremely popular on YouTube.  He also reaches a young audience of a lot of tweens and teens with his low brow humour.  I can see that it might not mesh well with most on this board (I am admittingly not a fan either) but it works.  This young audience might not know about the game bundles and after going to buy the Pewdiepie bundle to get the games he has played before, they might check out other bundles including the current EA one.

That being said, the good thing about the Humble Bundle is the custom split.  Anyone not a fan of him are free to fully support the developers or the Humble tip if they don't want to support him (admittingly it's not him personally getting the money, but a charity he is involved with).  I personally just left the default split this time.

I don't care who they partner with, if we get good bundles I'm all for it.  This is a great bundle of games and I didn't have any of these yet so I BTA.

They guy sounds like a total douche, but I don't think that's any reason to spit on charity:water. Having access to a clean supply of drinking water is literally a matter of life and death in some parts of the world. This is a serious and legitimate charity, folks.

weird, i just bought this ($1) and I had to do the captcha. i thought that was only for 1 cent purchases. did humble change their policy or something?
I haaaate captchas. I'm signed into my Humble account AND paying $1, but I still get denied because I can't read the stupid half-English half-gibberish properly.

I enjoyed watching PewDiePie play McPixel, the game will make sense to me now that I've seen an idiot play it :)

I've never understood the point of captchas. If humans and bots can't read them, then who can?!

Hilarious seeing all the Pewdiepie hate in here. I won't even argue whether his contributions are worthwhile, but to have 12 million subscribers (2nd most on YouTube) must mean you're doing something right. The guy is making a living playing video games. Any of you fuckers in here would throw yourselves at the chance to do the same. Not going to hate on a guy for marketing himself and finding success.
Actually I wouldn't. The stuff I work on has real impact on the world..

No, it just means there are a lot of dummies out there.
TRUE FACT: 50% of people are below average.

Kinda scary.

Depends on what you mean by average. In the colloquial meaning (arithmetic mean), this is definitely not (always) true.
The sample size is more than large enough (7.104 billion for a normal distribution) for what I'm saying to be true. Go level up your probability skills and try again. =)

well that's disappointing, was really hoping for Dead Space 2. Not complaining or anything since the bundle was/is great, but it would have been nice to have the whole trilogy :whistle2:(

EDIT: whoops, wrong thread :headache:

My guess is, the dev for whatever was planned for this week's deal decided that it would be better to push it back a bit so they were not directly competing with the Origin bundle. Only question is, did every upcoming weekly deal get pushed back a week (I'm assuming that they have 5 or 6 weeks planned ahead), or did this week's deal have to go back to the end of the line?

Only Humble & the devs involved know for sure, I guess.

This probably wont help you but, for everyone else, I copped 2 games from Amazon last year that were very, very cheap due to a discount + coupon that many of us had.

This claptrap isn't worth reading BUT I didn't want to delete it when I found out:
The EA Bundle inspired me to wring out my countless accounts and collect any non-Steam codes or DRM-free downloads. Checking my Amazon game library hadn't crossed my MIND in months and I wasn't sure what was in it. Among others:

Purchases:

Dead Space 2 on 1/12/2012 was $5 and after a $5 coupon it was obviously free. This wasn't a Steam code.

and

Bulletstorm on 1/20/2012 was $6.99 and after a $5 coupon it was clearly $1.99. This wasn't a Steam code either.

tl;dr

That's what your girl said when I showed her the kanji tats on my and then asked her if she spoke Japanese -- she said "yeah" but she it.

DAT ABSTRACT:

I discovered that Bulletstorm and Deadspace 2 display Origin keys now. Bulletstorm's DRM is GFWL at Amazon and its page lacks any mention of Origin whatsoever. Dead Space 2 's page mentions Origin but only requires it for online services; my account offers a non-Origin download as well as the key.

I'm 99% HIV positive that these games didn't provide an Origin key until after I bought them, played them for a bit, and totally forgot about 'em.

check for lumps, mahfuckers!

I think the next big developer humble bundle will be from Square Enix. All of their games (Hitman, Deus Ex, Sleeping Dogs, etc.) are already dirt cheap so it would make sense to bundle them up to make some easy money.

Is there anyone who doesn't have those already?

So, this was sent to me in an email from paradox this morning.

kg9s.jpg

It could be a full fledged bundle, but it seems likley to me that it's this week's Weekly deal. Which is why I'm posting this here.

A tip of the hat to Warreni for mentioning it first in the Humble Origin thread.

SE should do a PC port ALL of their Final Fantasy games that ain't on the PC from FF1 to FF13-2 and do a FF Humble Bundle. ;)

EDIT:

They can port Final Fantasy Tactics + Chrono Trigger + Chrono Cross while they're at it, too.

You know, I almost think it would be a mistake for them to include Magicka at this point. Does anyone that wants it really not have it? I would definitely view it as a "wasted" slot.

Going by that photo, I guess we'll get Warlock, The Showdown Effect, War of the Roses, Dungeonland, and Magicka. I hope there are several more as I have 3 of the 5.

I suppose Showdown Effect and Dungeonland look interesting enough to throw some cash at the bundle.

um what next humble weekly of aaa now next up is ea humblle weekly for week after this week

I'd do $1 for Dungeonland -- hopefully they're separate keys so I can give stuff away but I'm thinking probably not since Paradox knows a bajillion people own dupes of their games.

It's funny that the paradox guy mentions that the BTA price will be about $6.. when the deal hasn't gone live yet.
I'm sure Magicka is going to get people dropping mad cash

If Crusader Kings II is the only other BTA game, is it worth it? I haven't looked into it but remember seeing it on sale pretty much every other week (well it's a paradox game...), but I've seen a few people say good things about it.

Of course they had to slip Magicka in there. Kinda LOL that it's in the BTA tier though. Because, you know, everyone who might have wanted it hasn't had a bajillion chances to get it cheap before now.

I don't think it has been cheaper than $9.99 on Steam, so $6 would be a good deal. The best deal last year was an Amazon $10 bundle that included CK2 and other games.
