What does the F2P mode offer?
From the Steam Forum Thread:

War of the Roses Demo is now listed in ”Free to play”

This is purely a change in the placement of the game on Steams's Store. There are no changes made to the game or how it’s sold other than that the free version (previously known as War of the Roses Demo) is now just War of the Roses. If you purchased War of the Roses: Kingmaker, everything will continue as before. Nothing has changed in the packaging or what you get with the various versions.

So here is how it looks now:

War of the Roses (F2P) contains 4 base locked profiles and the Conquest + Team Death Match game modes.

War of the Roses: Kingmaker contains all game modes (Conquest, TDM, Pitched Battle, and Assault) and the ability to customize additional character profiles, Coat of Arms, and Battlegrounds.

To confirm whether or not you have the Kingmaker edition, right click the game in your Steam library and select "View Downloadable content".

Anyone know someone who dropped $125 for the full bundle so we can laugh at them get more info on these "20 soundtracks"?
Apparently only three people have gone over $125 so far:

1. Edward Snowden $200.00
2. :) $180.00
3. Wil Sylvince $150.00

It must be getting lonely in Russia...

Leviathan: Warships is an asynchronous naval tactical turn-based strategy game. You read that right. Plan out your moves and anticipate those of your enemies on the high seas. Then, watch as your plans play out in single-player campaign, co-op, and versus modes.

"Ship just got real."

So, seeing people talk about past Amazon bundles reminded me that I've bought a few in my day. I went back to check and see if I had any unredeemed keys from one of those bundles, and it looks like I never redeemed the War of the Roses keys. The keys listed on my Amazon key page are as follows:

War of the Roses - House of York Deluxe Edition
War of the Roses: House of Lancaster Armor Set DLC
War of the Roses: House of York Armor Set DLC

I also bought the Paradox bundle earlier, so now I have 2 sets of Kingmaker keys. Not a big problem since I have 2 steam accounts. But I need to know if the keys from Amazon equal the key that I got from the Humble bundle. Because if they aren't the exact same thing, I'd prefer to have the superior version on my main account. Anybody know if there is any difference?

So what does Europa Universalis III Complete include exactly? Because I already own it  but there's some DLC I don't own, but it's looking like that DLC isn't part of EU3 Complete, but that doesn't sound very complete to me.

Is this the Swedish definition of Complete, like Gamersgate used the Swedish definition of Permanent which in fact means not Permanent?

It's a dollar so I'm not going to complain too much but yeah

EU3 Complete is the new name for what was called EU3 Chronicles. Don't know why on the name change. It includes the base game and the two content expansions. It includes none of the cosmetic stuff.

Er, no. I think that's wrong.

EU3 Complete has EU3 and two earlier expansions. EU3 Chronicles had that plus the other two listed story DLC--Heir to the Throne and Divine Wind. I have those two from the EU3 Chronicles key from whatever Indiegala it was in. EU3 Chronicles is not now available on Steam.

EU3 Complete was released after the first 2 DLCs (Napoleon & Nomine). EU3 Chronicles has that plus the 2 post-Complete DLCs (Heir to the Throne & Divine Wind). It's a similar situation to the upcoming Borderlands 2 GOTY and Borderlands 2 GOTYier versions.

Well "Game of the Year" and "Gold" you can at least wiggle out of being complete (even though obviously that's what gamers have come to expect over the years) but I think it's it but much to wiggle out of Complete being complete.

But like I said, they're Swedes. :dunce:

Ha! I didn't even notice that it was "complete" until you pointed it out. My mind processed it as Europa Universalis III Chronicles.

Those cheap bastards.

It's already been answered above, but it doesn't include 2 expansion packs (Heir to the Throne & Divine Wind). Divine Wind is the last of the expansions, and as I understand it, DW radically alters much of the game's mechanics. So much so, that if you have a game in progress before adding the expansion, that game save will no longer work once you add Divine Wind. So if you get suckered into buying the rest of the expansions, make sure you don't have a game in progress

The rest of the stuff is that you'd be missing is useless crap along the lines of the portrait packs DLC with Crusader Kings II.

EDIT: It just dawned on me how hypocritical it is for me to call the folks at Paradox cheap bastards when I only paid a buck for this bundle. lol

I also bought that Amazon bundle during the holidays and redeemed those keys. Note that the House of York Deluxe Edition already contains the House of York Armor Set, so you won't need that key. If you redeem the first two keys in that list, you should have four entries in your DLC list for War of the Roses:

  • War of the Roses - Deluxe Edition
  • War of the Roses - House of Lancaster
  • War of the Roses: House of York Armor Set
  • War of the Roses: Kingmaker
I did this a while ago (before the Kingmaker update) but those keys should still give you the same items. Also, if you redeem them now, you *might* get an alpha key for War of the Vikings but keep in mind that it disappears by the end of the weekend, I believe.

So it sounds like I should use the Amazon keys on my main account.

Thanks a lot man.

EDIT: And I just redeemed both keys on each account. The Humble key only lists "Kingmaker" under the DLC section. So that is clearly the inferior version. So if anybody else out there finds themselves in a position of needing to choose between one of the keys from an Amazon bundle and the one from the Humble bundle, go with the Amazon key.

Played Dungeonland a couple of hours and I'm surprised it flopped.  It's basically a 3D with a few unlockables and a mode where you can play as the Dungeon Master.

In for $1. I already have CK II and Magicka (both from indie and Amazon bundles), and I'm only really interested in Dungeonland since Showdown and Leviathan are both MP games, and Kingmaker is just some DLC for a F2P game.
Wait... what?? Leviathan's store page lists a singleplayer component. Is this inaccurate? Say it ain't so!

There is a single player campaign. I've beaten a few missions up until an escort mission pissed me off.

I enjoyed Dungeonland with a couple good buddies. We enjoyed taking turns as Dungeon Master the most.  It's a good with friends game that's fairly quick to play a session or two.  Especially if you have a friend that gets a kick out of being the bad guy :).  I never played it during what sounded like a buggy Paradox launch, but it's had several patches that it played fine enough. I think there were some multiplayer connecting quirks here and there, but I really love the premise of the game.  Kind of wish another developer would take the concept further and add a hell of a lot more polish.

It's kind of sad that you can immediately tell if a Paradox game was not successful if it doesn't have a shit ton of DLC.

I did because, let's face it, Gauntlet wasn't anything profound. A great game for its time but a format that's easily aped.
Ah in that respect, sure. I doubt it has aged that well. (I'm also thinking of similar parallels for [customspoiler="Into the Eagle" s Nest']http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wNLBcx1EZe[/customspoiler].)

Was kind of interested in CK2 if the average dropped to under $5, but a locked average? fuck that noise. They would have raised a lot more money with a moving average than locking it up, with Magicka to boot.

Oh wait...CK2 has cards? I'm in.
This. Except the "cards, I'm in" bit. I'm out.

Seriously. I don't know anything about any of these games except for what the trailers shown... er, show.

The only game I'm genuinely interested in is Crusader Kings II. Something about being a king sending an assassin to kill your brother, who is also a king of his own land, and taking control of his land, army, and wife as a result is intriguing. :whistle2:k

But I paid $5 for the Humble Origin Bundle and I definitely find that bundle to have a much greater perceived value than this one and have no intention of paying more. Especially when I'm not even sure if I'll even care about any of these games. Not to mention my current computer probably can't even run them (just like my problem with the Humble Origin Bundle) and so I wouldn't even get to play these games, that I'm not sure I'll even like, until sometime next year when I finally upgrade.

A locked Beat-The-Average is, well rather off-putting.

My friends and I have also had a great time playing Dungeonland.  The DM mode is excellent, although it can be difficult to connect sometimes.  Although at first glance it seems light on content, the three classes and their sub-classes play quite differently.  If you enjoy Smash TV, Gauntlet, or laughing at your friends' failures, donate a $1+ and give it a shot!

If it's like those games, I'm totally in. (Already bought)

If it is like those games, hey, what the f..k, I may even think about playing it some day

I can't tell if I'm dismayed or impressed by how much some of you guys value $5.
Be impressed. For a few dollars more, CKII can be had with A LOT of DLC. Magicka will soon be free. War of Roses is already free. And many of us already own Showdown Effect from the last Humble.

Ah but a true cheapass wouldn't have bought that crappy PewDiePie bundle.

I wanted botanicula :$

I believe magicka complete is about $5 right now in amazon. If not, will be soon (too lazy to look).

BTW, I was looking at some PewDiePie videos... Maybe is just me, but I don't find it funny and don't know why people like it.

The Magicka collection on Amazon is not complete.

Bought it like every bundle. Played Dungeon land with some friends. Was fun for a bit then got old real fast considering you have to get gold to get better stuff. Also I wish it came with all the DLC

Jeez, big deal. You act like $5 for CK2 is highway robbery.
$6. Well $5.81.

And considering I bought Dead Space, Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box, Crisis 2 Maximum Edition, Dead Space 3, Medal of Honor, Mirror's Edge, Battlefield 3, The Sims 3 (with the expansions High End Loft, Late Night, and Date Night), Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 - Uprising, and Populous all for $5........... well, it kind of IS. :whistle2:?

I can't tell if I'm dismayed or impressed by how much some of you guys value $5.
Clearly you've never been to Singapore.

I don't know why, but I felt like saying that after reading your comment. :)

Be impressed. For a few dollars more, CKII can be had with A LOT of DLC. Magicka will soon be free. War of Roses is already free. And many of us already own Showdown Effect from the last Humble.
This is true. If it had some/many/most/all of the dlc included then I would be somewhat/maybe/probably/definitely more inclined to buy it.

:whistle2:k /  / :applause: / :whee:

damn, back to cag jail for me then ;)

I bought it. :(
CAG HAS A JAIL!

So is this the guy who puts you in it?

:robot:

(Yeah, I just wanted an excuse to use that smiley ;))

Well compared to the Origin Humble Bundle everything is a terrible deal.

But yeah, the fact that CK2 has a crap ton of DLC and more on the way, none of which come with this bundle, makes it seem a bit less like a deal and a bit more like a Free Low to Play game with (not so) microtransactions.

I didn't think it would be possible for someone to criticize the Paradox bundle for withholding DLC while simultaneously praising the Origin bundle.

The Sims aside, I actually think Paradox might be the one company that puts out more DLC than EA.

But yeah EA has a grinch like grip on their DLC and most of it rarely goes on sale or in bundled deals, no argument there.
