I had a Wii party on Sunday and now my shoulders hurt.....

I invited a few friends over for some pizza, football, and some Wii action on launch day. We had a four player setup going on with Wii Tennis, Wii Bowling, Red Steel, and Ultimate Alliance. We had lots of fun, but I think the rest enjoyed the Wii Sports games better than the others.

They were really impressed with the responsiveness of the new controllers. All of them said that it felt very natural, and their sweat became obvious after a few rounds of gaming. Good thing the Wii reminded us to take a break and get some fresh air outside.

The whole Wii event actually convinced my brother to get the system for her fiancee and her sisters. He said that they could use it as some sort of exercise tool and not have to think about exercising.

Anyway, I woke up this morning tired as hell. My shoulders ache and my arms are tired, but I can't wait to play some more later on today. :)

hehe, glad to hear everyone was getting into it. My wife and I played a bit last night. Despite being very tired, she was getting into a tennis quite a bit. When she's alert she'll likely completely destroy me instead of me winning one out of three games ;)

I know what you mean. I was playing Madden and I feel like I need to ice my sholder after throwing some 150 passes as Tom Brady. My mechanics need some work ;)

Before the wii came out, I told some people that their arms were gonna get tired/sore after long gaming sessions. It's similar to how your arm will get tired/sore after playing lightgun games for a long time. The larger arm muscles (shoulder/elbow) are not desinged for the same finer/precision movements as the wrist and fingers. So, they end up getting more tired.

Then again, perhaps the wii will cause some gamers to tone up a bit...lol.

That boxing game is quite a work out too. My triceps are actually quote sore today. Still haven't opened Zelda yet. Maybe tonite.

Zelda is not the workout that the others are, at least not the way I've played it thus far. It's actually easier to be more relaxed playing that game than a standard controller design allows.

Yeah with Zelda I was playing laying on the couch with my hands stretched out over my head, relaxing from all the wiis ports I played with my friend and his little cousin early yesterday. That kid was hilarous, my friend filmed him on his digital camera, hopefully i'll be able to put it up on youtube. Imagine a cross between the n64 kid, that flailing nunchuk dude, and wii boxing. He was definitly breaking a sweat.

Yeah I had a pullover on and after a few rounds of boxing I pulled it off to just the white t. I am a bit sore but according to the record keeping I sank 13+ hours into it and that is pretty good considering i had a lot going on Sunday and didnt get it started till about 2 am Sunday Morning after getting home etc...

I dont think I have gamed that long in a very long time... I just opened Zelda last night at 11 pm and then went to bed for work. I am really getting into Excite Truck for some reason..

Haha, same here...I played boxing the most and my triceps and shoulders are sore. awesome :)

I brought my Wii over to my in-laws yesterday afternoon to let them give it a test drive. My in-laws have been gamers since the Pong days but I wasn't sure they would be into the Wii or not.

After countless bowling, baseball, tennis, and boxing matches, I think they are ready to buy one once they are easy to get. My brother-in-law and his fiancee had a couple boxing matches that were hilarious.

My arms aren't sore today, but I didn't have a chance to even play it much - just Zelda last night. Zelda doesn't require much exertion at all.
