CAGiversary!
*SIGH* I'm continuously disappointed by the tone of this forum. I've never seen this number of anti-social people on any other forum before. If you think my original post is "funny", or take pleasure from attacking it, you need serious help. I am not exaggerating or being factious-you literally need medical help. You will find that hilarious too
Anyway thanks for the few that actually gave meaningful responses.
Call it what you want, I don't see any reason for someone getting upset because something nice happened to another person. Being a normal human being I assumed others would post what they've gotten recently.
Another *shrug* to that. It's a reasonable thought. Not my fault if the religious zealots go ballistic because anyone suggest they wonder which should be their main GAME PLATFORM. Geez
Good for you. If you have enough money to buy and support both consoles, go ahead. As far as which console is your "main" console, I don't know. I would say overall the 360 is better NOW, but the PS3 will be better in the future. You'd be better off making the two consoles play roles. You'll buy and play online games on the 360, and solo games with the PS3. Works out.
Nice impressions on the Falcon, I'd like to get my hands on that if/when I get RROD'd.
And yeah, the d-pad isn't great, but the 360 is fps heaven anyway, ain't like you need a spectacular d-pad.
Yeah, that's the thing that sort of makes it okay-most modern games don't actually make much use of it (though some do). You notice how crappy it is even just navigating the menu system. It blows my mind people actually play VF5 on this or Street Fighter 2. I'd take my SNES copy of the original Street Fighter 2 over the 360 version any day. If I was still into fighting games, I'd already own a Playstation 3 (come to think of it I guess I will be getting Street Fighter 4 for the PS3...)
Weirdly, one of my 360 pads-my wired one-actually DOES have a fairly solid D-Pad. Not as good as the Playstation products (or earlier pads) but it's functional. All my wireless ones have randomly required more pressure to register in a direction. Sometimes a normal amount of pressure registers, sometimes not. I hope they fix that eventually
Man don't you feel dumb. Don't you read your MS 360 FAQ before you go trashing a broken 360.
No, I don't feel dumb at all. The unit was out of warranty when I got rid of it, I got some money for it (and didn't misrepresent it), and I've got a better version of the 360 now. It's a bit quieter, should be cooler and more reliable, etc.

...Anyway, there's a bit of a bragging tone in saying "guess what I got". I suspect the reason for a separate Bragging Rights forum is because some people react so negatively to this (myself included).

You then go on to introduce some notion of "which is better, 360 or PS3" into the post while this is the microsoft gaming forum. No way that's going to go well...
