What the fuck? I bought it about 10 days ago at Best Buy (I still have the receipt) and it was factory sealed with the two strips on the top and side. The code for the map pack is inside too. Is Best Buy going to give me shit about this? I just want an exchange, obviously.

EDIT: Here it is -

Wow that's pretty weird. They shouldn't pull anything if you just want another copy of Gears.

Hopefully not. The same thing happened to me last year with NBA2k8 at TRU and they were surprisingly chill about it.

I always open my games in the parking lot, then tend to read the manual. Lol, it builds up the epicness of the game, unless it's night time. Then I can't read the manual, and will probably fall asleep in the car, or do something else.

Sucks that happened bro, although really can't see the first image. Maybe that's because it's the CDR disc, and it is shiny, xD. I wish the best of luck to you, and keep us updated on this.

I had a problem with new Wal-mart copies of GOW2 having a watery film on half of the disc. It seemed to make the game skip(slightly) so I took it back and exchanged it for another. The next copy was opened at the service desk and it had the same problem but a totally different pattern. I got a refund which was fine with me because i had already finished the SP.

Yo! OP I see you are from Jersey. So am I. Hillside. Same thing happened to me at the Target in Watchung. I could feel the weight of the game and tell that it was either empty or something like that. Took it straight to customer service and boom! No manual and a CDR where the game should be.

You think that's something, check this out. Went back to Target about 3 weeks later and was checking out the budget titles. Someone slit the sides of the games and stole over 60 PS3, 360, Wii, and PS2 games.

If I see anyone doing this ish, it is straight to the POKEY for them.

That sucks .

I was at Meijer and some lady had a copy of Army Of Two with a completely blank disc[on both sides] in the case .

I like the way those pictures enlarge and decrease when you click on them .
Is there some new way to link pics ?
Edit your title please. No need for profanity. I thank you.
yet your sig has vagina in it......

BOOTLEGGER!

Just joking but that sucks though dude. To top it off now you gotta deal with the holiday madness to try to return it. Probably since you bought it 10 days ago they are going to hassle you and make you out to be a thief. Even if you are just trying to return it for the same thing even opened. As far as they are concerned you are just someone trying to screw them out of a extra disc only copy.

I always open my stuff on the way home because i'm impatient and bored at stop lights lol. Target clearance stuff will teach you how easy it is for someone to razor knife a case barely and get get the disc out.

That blows.

At launch I opened my Gears 2 instantly since the wrapping seem fishy and it felt opened(Bought it at BB also). Lucky for me the game was there. Hopefully they'll believe you when you take the game (CDR) back. Tell us what happens when you return it, Good luck.

Yet it doesn't need to be thrown around either in front of the kids he's so worried about.
Seems every time I hear this story it's from Best Buy... what's going on?
They are shady perhaps.....

As far as I am concerned this is why the industry should move to clear packaging in which you can see the disc without having to open the package.
That blows. Did you see if there was any data, at all, on the disc?
You are not going to believe this but it was some movie I can't recognize shot in shaky cam and starring Kurt Russell. It looked like it was made in the 1980s. The disc was labeled "Deep Blue" but I checked IMDB and it definitely wasn't that. There are finger prints all over it - I'm tempted to give it to the police but I know they won't do anything about it.

it actually reminds me when I special ordered Ace Combat 6 with the joystick through Gamecrazy and it was completely new and sealed and when I got home and opened it up the game was missing...
I called them up explained the situation and they gave me a free copy of the game (well the one I paid for actually) and an additional Ace Combat faceplate for the inconvenience....

Apparently its happened more than once.
Just curious, is there anything on the disc?
I had that happen once with Star Wars Battlefront II on Xbox a while back. The disc was missing but the game was sealed. I went back to Best Buy with my receipt that evening and got my game but they treated me as if I were a liar and made a photy copy of my driver's license and said if I ever made such a claim again, they wouldn't honor it. I didn't bitch too much as I wanted to leave the store with what I paid for but if it happened again, I would be screwed.

I believe you OP and I hope you get what you purchased.

Do you mean Dark Blue?

I made the return today. The lady behind the counter didn't even open the case. It was unbelievable. I made sure to open the game before leaving the store. Look for me online!

Heh, K-mart. Let's see, I remember seeing a Sega Game Gear game there cart only, an opened Xbox Live stuff, 2 stolen games, and my copy of Radiata Stories for $4 that was missing the game. Still, had a good experience overall at that k-mart. Finding people to help you can be a pain sometimes though.

That's great. I remember a couple years ago, NCSX was selling a game in one of their daily deals or something, but instead of a game on it, there was a copy of the movie, The Patriot starring Mel Gibson. This was one of the copies they opened and so they were now selling it. Pretty funny how randomly some discs get mislabel or burned incorrectly with the wrong data.

Happened to me recently, same exact thing, opened a brand new game that was seemingly sealed factory and there was a CD-R inside. Luckily that was a game I got on a clearance and I didnt really care about, but obviously someone bought it and returned it.

I had the game sitting on my shelf for about 3 months sealed and finally went to play it and that happened lol. I didnt bother returning it, I paid less than $10 for it so I just took it as a loss.
