I need some Anti-Virus Software

If you have comcast or know someone who does, they give a free McAfee package which comes with everything you could need.

If you want a third option for a free AV, try Avira: http://www.free-av.com/
But be warned that it's technically nagware and everytime it auto updates the definitions, some stupid pop up will come up trying to sell you the premium version that features anti spyware protection as well as AV. I mainly use Avira on my work PC because of this.

If you don't mind paying, try NOD32: www.eset.com
I've been using this for about 6 months and it's been great. Real light on system resources, and even though I've been careful enough to not catch any viruses, many of the reviews I read before getting it, touted it as having one of the best detection engines out there.

2nd.

Never had a single problem since I've use it in combonation with Spybot and AdAware for ages...

Thanks everyone - I'll check out AVG and a few others mentioned. I also was told that with Verizon FIOS I can get free anti-virus software but I can't seem to find where to DL it. I guess I need to call them up...

I 100% recommend AVG free for anti virus, AVG anti spyware and Spybot, all 3 are great programs, won't slow down your computer simply by being there (much like norton or Mcafee) and are FREE!

Agreed. Avast plus Spybot plus AdAware = Win.

I'd still have to recommend Kaspersky as the best AV out there, although it's not free. If you wanna pay for it/can get it somehow... get Kaspersky. Otherwise, AVG works great for freeware.
