Wow I wish I had the money and the space I'd take most of the x-men and spiderman stuff off ya. Well good luck Comics have at least sort of bounced back in value. I know the maximum carnage stuff is worh a bit. But I'm not certain how much.

Also I'm sure Infinity Wars and X-cutioner's song are also sought after.

I never really got into D/C...but I was a big marvel fan
I never really got into D/C...but I was a big marvel fan
Same. With the exception of the Batman and Robin (grayson) characters, I never had a big pull to DC.

I had a lot of fun with some of the X-titles like gen X, and X-force and wolverine... Dead Pool, too. Then a lot of their talent seemed to jump ship, at about the same time that Marvel kept expanding their titles so you'd have to buy more and more to keep up and the pencils and writing wasn't worth it... after a while I just stopped going into the comic shops and that was that.

Kinda hate parting with some of this stuff. But I mean, I've had these for how many years, and I read them when I bought them, maybe once or twice here and there... and the past few weeks I've read most of them again while organizing them. They're just taking up space.

...Maybe I'll keep the new mutants demon bear tpb. The art is so nice. And it has Illyana.

I'm a little confused with the list, but I see Sonic the Hedgehod 0-8...can you describe what's on each of those covers for me? I would be very interested in buying them off you, but I want to see if I have them already.

For example, I think #1 is sonic on a rollercoaster.

I've seen random comic lots go for $50-$500. It depends on who wants it... it's really hard to estimate it.

One thing you can do is find a local comic shop, call them, and ask if they'd give you a trade-in estimate on your collection if you email them a list. They might not do it but it's worth a try. My local shop does it... the manager even goes to homes with very large collections (but he charges a fee for that) to give estimations.

Man going through your list brings back such nostalgia. Me and my sister spent a fortune on comics back in the day (especially X-Men, WildCATS, Gen 13, and Generation X). You must have been into the collector aspect as well seeing as how you got all the variants of X-Men #1 and Cable #1. I was also suckered into buying crap comics like Secret Defenders #1 because it had the foil cover. :D
I know the maximum carnage stuff is worh a bit. But I'm not certain how much.
Those are barely worth cover price. They're pretty common, but it is hard to find them all together in the same place. I'm still missing a few issues.

Looks like you were into the mutants around the same time I was. I got back into them for awhile there then stopped again since I didn't have the time to read them anymore.

Spawn 9 used to be worth a little something, I'm not sure if it's held it's value. One of the issues of Uncanny X-Men, two-sixty-something, has Wolverine, Cap and Black Widow on the cover. If you have that one it still has some value.

I wouldn't bother calling Dr. No's. They only really take Golden and Silver Age books.

Sorry to say, but almost everything you have is "worthless" due to the incredible amount of overprinting from that time period. Companies printed far too many comics.

Listing them on eBay honestly would be more trouble than it's worth. A comic shop, if they even wanted them, would probably give you 10 cents to a quarter per book and sell them in their 50 cent bin.

Not sure how the rules are where you live, but you may be able to donate the comics and write off the cover price as a donation for next year's taxes.

You can check with libraries, hospitals, orphanages, etc. and ask if they'd be interested in taking some or all as a donation. Write up a receipt listing the dollar value (total cover price) and have them sign it when you drop it off. Then you can use that as a donation on your taxes.

But check with the laws and/or tax preparers in your area.

If you lived near a comic shop you could get rid of the whole thing. Since most of those comics came from the "90s" bubble, you won't be making your retirement with them. If you want to get rid of the whole lot at once, I would try Craigslist. If you are near a comic convention, you might want to think about renting a table and sell them there too.

I know there's a comic shop in woodstock, but I hardly ever go out there, and that's the only comic shop I know of around here. I checked their 'want list' and they're not buying anything I have.

And they don't have an email addy for me to send my list to to ask for an estimate. Which is why I'm asking y'all. I just want an idea of what I could sell them for on Craigslist. If I ask $X, I don't want to be way over, but I don't want to way undersell them either.
I'm a little confused with the list, but I see Sonic the Hedgehod 0-8...can you describe what's on each of those covers for me? I would be very interested in buying them off you, but I want to see if I have them already.

0 has Robotnik coming out of a tv in the... hang on, I'll take a picture of them in a second for you. Gotta just find my camera first.
I'll buy some stuff off of you depending on your shipping and whether or not you're looking for full value on those or going slightly CAG.

www.comicspriceguide.com is a good place
Well, I can fit quite a few in a Priorty Flat rate box for like $9 (flat rate plus DC). And I'm looking to get rid of them more than anything. Tell me the titles/numbers you're looking at and what you think is a fair price.
Sorry to say, but almost everything you have is "worthless" due to the incredible amount of overprinting from that time period. Companies printed far too many comics.
Yup. Hence the dreaded bubble I mentioned. Ah well. My big brother had some great silver age comics which were worth a bit. He gave them to goodwill back in the late 70s/ early 80s.

Not sure how the rules are where you live, but you may be able to donate the comics and write off the cover price as a donation for next year's taxes.
Truth be told, when it comes down to it, I donate a lot of stuff each month, and never take the write-off. My taxes could be helped by that, but I'm sorta wierd.
Jesus says not to give to be known for it, but just to do it because it helps someone. So when I drop stuff off at Goodwill, that's the end of it for me. *shrugs*

Anyway, I gotta go dig for my camera.

I'm a 90s bubble victim too! :p

I looooooved the books from that time period though. I'm only recently finding stories worthwhile again today and most of those from indies, odly enough.

I also got stacks and stacks and piles upon more stacks of comic-based trading cards. Mostly Marvel. Those certainly held their value.

EDIT: ooookay. At comicpriceguide.com, it's helped me organize a bit. Apparantly issues 0, 1 & 3 are from a mini run. Issues 2, 5, 7 & 8 are from an ongoing series.

SONIC THE HEDGEHOG (1992-1993, 2003)
issue....cpg value...my asking price
0.........$33.............$16.50
1.........$35.............$17.50
3.........$25.............$12.50

SONIC THE HEDGEHOG (1993-Current)
2........$25..............$12.50
5........$18..............$9
7........$17..............$8.50
8........$18..............$9

Anyone wanting to buy all of these in one fell swoop, lemme know and we'll work something out.

The early Sonics may be worth a few bucks, unfortuanetely, most of your comics arents quarter bin or less. The cool thing is that you have full sets, raises the value a little, and the Infinity Gauntlet stories is one of the best crossovers marvel ever did. (just Infinity Gauntlet, War and everything after were awful). The Gauntlet main issues should be worth something because marvel references the event often (Illuminati #3). XMen 136 is your best book, I think (Cyclops holding Phoenix on the cover), and I would definitely consider buying a few lots if the price is right. I have many of the later 80s early 90s bubble too, and it sux to see how bad the quality of stories are (I loved them when I bought them as a kid).

I remember those sonic comics. I was really into Sonic when those were coming out. I got several of those still, though I don't think I have the earliest ones.
and the Infinity Gauntlet stories is one of the best crossovers marvel ever did. (just Infinity Gauntlet, War and everything after were awful).
Tell me about it. I wound up more and more upset at marvel for the number of titles they dragged in to the story, and more and more upset at myself for being suckered into buying them just to have the complete deal.

XMen 136 is your best book, I think (Cyclops holding Phoenix on the cover),
It's funny, as I was going through them all, how often Scott or Alex were on the covers, holding Jean, Charles, Lorna, or Madelyne 'dead' in their arms. The best type issue in that line would be Wolvie holding Mariko (wolverine 57) imo.

and I would definitely consider buying a few lots if the price is right.
Just hit me with your wish lists and some sort of an offer. I lowball others all the time, so go ahead and lowball me. We go from there.
too bad ya don't have Beavis and Butthead comics - those were the bomb diggity
I did. Sadly they were swiped by the dreaded ex.

I honestly think you could fetch some really decent money on eBay from lotting together the entire arcs that you have. It's not that easy to find complete stories.

Funny looking through your collection I see we had almost the same taste, I sold a collection like that on ebay with about 80 percent of the same tittles and trust me Haggar is right, I should have not even bothered, taken them to the local library or something and just dropped them off.

The Uncanny X-men Titles should be decent lot to sell on ebay, the others maybe not, I can't tell on the DC stuff because I only read Impulse.

One of the issues of Uncanny X-Men, two-sixty-something, has Wolverine, Cap and Black Widow on the cover. If you have that one it still has some value.

I always see that in comic stores for $40-50, while Comic Buyer's Guide says it's worth $3.

There is a lot of stuff I would be interested in.

I am always buying comics. Althought most of the 90's stuff I wouldn't be interested in, if you are looking to sell some to me for a decent price PM me maybe we can work a deal.
There is a lot of stuff I would be interested in.
Wahoo. Just give me a list and what you think a fair price would be.
if you are looking to sell some to me for a decent price PM me maybe we can work a deal.
PM'ed.

Folks, I'd like to get estimates on what you think I could CraigsList some sets, specific issues, or the whole set for. BUT if there's an issue or a run you're intersted in, just hit me with your wishlist and an offer (or tradelist). If you don't want to post in here, just PM me.

Bump.

You put a lot of work into this thread! I'm in the same situation you are...have a bunch of 90's era comics and need to clear them out for storage purposes!

Good luck!

Sorry but I'm still sorting through all those Marvel trading cards I won from your eBay auction a while back. Nothing for me right now.
Sorry but I'm still sorting through all those Marvel trading cards I won from your eBay auction a while back. Nothing for me right now.
ha! I was wondering if you'd wander in here. =)
www.comicspriceguide.com is a good place
Thanks for the link, red flare. I finally figured out how to get some sort of value for these.

I think I'll just ask about half of what they say a value is. So when they say the value of Uncanny Xmen Annual is $16, I'm good with $8. That would be way better than eBay would fetch me, and hopefully be a good deal for anyone wanting to pick up titles at a better price than the shops offer.

And as djkunai can attest, I can fit a LOT into a USPS priority flat rate box, getting you a decent shipping price and decent shipping speed. (otherwise it's expensive because their weight stacks up pretty quickly.) So if you're looking for a bunch, this should work out.

If you're looking for anything close to the value from a guide, Ebay them.

Otherwise, I'd be interested in a lot and live not that far away. PM me.
are these comics bagged and boarded?
Of course.

If someone is looking to buy a good number and I can squeeze a few extra in a priority flat rate box, I can take the boards out for shipping. Unless you'd rather not do that. No problems either way. I just thought I'd mention that possibility.
If you're looking for anything close to the value from a guide, Ebay them.

Otherwise, I'd be interested in a lot and live not that far away. PM me.
Now that I figured out comicspriceguide.com, any issues anyone is interested in, I'm asking half of their listed price. If that's a mistake on my part, I'll either lower or raise that percentage accordingly.

I'm PMing you in a sec. =)

I don't mean to bump this thread, but I need to contact MrNEWZ.

1) thanks so much for your help so far
2) your inbox is full and I can't reply

Cleaned out the inbox/etc. I apparently haven't been cleaning out my sent items (done). Sent you some PMs, including what from your list is not on my "master list of stuff I own".

Get back to me.

id liek to know what youd want for your infinity war and infinity crusade as well as all your generation x comics. and your gen 13 stuff ( i could use those to replace some that got damaged in my collection as well as fill in the gaps with the variant covers. your collection reminds me alot of mine the only dc stuff i ever got into was batman and it was around the time of the whole breaking of the bat thing by bane.

id say keep them though if you arent really sure you ant to sell them ive come close to selling off all of mine on diff occasions due to money woes or swearing up and down im done with comics and as far as getting into them again i am as long as i stay away from comic book stores but who knows what the future holds.

just dont sell them to comic shops they tend to pay more very little of what the comics are worth and deal more in bulk. get some decent storage cabinets and lock them up and pass them down to your kids in a few years and then mabe by then they will be even worth more or at least they will enjoy them as much as you did.

As a few people pointed out Comics from the 90's are tough to move. Let me put my 2 cents in as a fellow Atlanta Cag with tons of comics I am trying to dump before I move.

What I have done to move some of my older comics is put together lots and sold/traded them off to people who I knew collected still. There is still a large number of collectors in ATL, but the price has to be right.

I broke my issues into several main character lots - Uncanny, Wolverine, Other X books, Amazing Spiderman, Other Spiderman, Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, Daredevil, Valiant, Avengers, Misc DC, Misc Marvel, and everything else. Suprising Green Lantern, Daredevil, and, Avengers were the first thing anyone jumped on.

The Uncanny X-Men are the best in your lot. Still alot of collector's around for Uncanny at least. The pink background 248 is the first printing of Jim Lee's first issue, gold is 2nd printing. Jim Lee's run goes form 248-272? roughly. Gambit was introduced 266 and the first few issues with him in it are still worth some money.

Stay away from ebay. As someone pointed out 90's material is just way overproduced and the deman isn't there. If you are trading, selling local, or using Craigslist try lots to move quantities quicker. Don't bother spending much time with publishers other then marvel/dc. Image comics from the 90's were bought by specualators and don't have the loyal following of the Marvel/DC characters. The Marvel/DC issues you have would be worth breaking into several lots. The other publishers I would just lump together.

Right Now, the only issues of Uncanny X-men that I don't have and want is issues 207-209. I'm interested in Infinite War & Gauntlet but only the main issues and it seems you don't want (or really need) to break them up.

The main problem your going to have with the Image ones is that some of them are worth some money and some arent worth the paper theyre printed on.

I wish i could buy that Zero Hour lot off of you but im kinda strapped right now. If you need any help on the DC stuff hit my PM box up

Actionpotential, I haven't replied to your PM yet, because I'm hashing out a deal which came in before yours and if/when that goes through, many of the issues you're interested in will be off the list.

I believe I've PMed everyone else.

Now, if you can I need a little help with pricing two issues.
 • Detective Comics featuring Batman: 666 (numbered & autographed by Chuck Dixon, Graham Nolan and Scott Hanna)
 • Fantastic Four: 371 (all white cover, embossed, autographed by Paul Ryan)
I remember anytime my comic shop had an autographed isue on the wall, it's price was way up there. Is this still the case? Do signatures increase value much, if at all?

Not to keep begging here, but if anyone has an educated estimate on just those two issues, it'd be a tremendous help.

Well the thing with Autos is, the book, the run, and the creative team. Ive seen current runs of New Avengers signed going for 50-75 bucks but ive seen older stuff signed by Liefeld collecting dust at 25.
The Batman one I'd *guess* would fetch somewhere around 50 bucks while that FF might get around 30-40. The FF one may fetch a bit more right now if the movie does well over the next week or so. Any other questions feel free to PM me

with all that and if the price was right to rent..you could rent out space at a con and sell them. i was at the Wizard Philly Con and they were people buynig everything up...but anything that was from that era late 80s to 90s werent selling as much..gold/silver/bronze...all werent selling..i just got back in to the whole comic scene with the whole Marvel Civil War thing. anyway i may be interested in teh Gen 13 lot you have...so drop me a price and let me know..maybe we could work out a deal of some sorts......
Ive seen current runs of New Avengers signed going for 50-75 bucks but ive seen older stuff signed by Liefeld collecting dust at 25.
That's because it's Liefeld. That guy fucking sucks.
