I havent played the damn thing in a month and there doesnt seem to be any game worth waiting for. I want ebay it and then buy a gamecube. I had one a while ago and might want to get it back for RE4 and that new Zelda.

That Namco X Capcom looks good but doesnt seem to be coming state side.
What game(s) are worth waiting for?

If you haven't touched it in a month then sell it, you obviously have nothing of interest for it so why let it sit around collecting dust?

I've got one. There isn't much that intrests me that is upcoming but I am having fun picking up many oldies but goodies on the cheap. Just got XIII and Culdcept. Both 2.99 at EB and excellent games.

The only games I looking forward to is:
Shadow of the Colussus
Kingdom Hearts 2
Katamari Damacy 2
Killer 7

I still think it is my favorite system because of the great variety of games. RE 4 is also supposed to come out on PS2 but that won't be a while. The game is going to be graphically inferior but in terms of gameplay, I don't think it will matter.

Thanks Dpatel but looks like there really isnt much coming out. That Final Fantasy 12 looks terrible. I cant stand RPGs that dont have random encounters.

why don't you wait until E3 at least. You will see what Gamecube has to offer and what PS2 has to offer for the future. Then decide. It's less than a month away.

Yea. I am not interested in that game at all. I used to love FF's and always looked forward to them. The series, IMO, has gone way downhill.

Sell it now with some games and you can get up to 200$ , wait one month and ebgames is going to be selling them for 15$ , get yourself a good nintendo console, the reason why i keep my ps2 around is because i use it to watch dvd's, i don't play that shit either at all !

I don't know if you're a BF1942 fan , but a little bird told me that Battlefront: Modern Combat is already an excellent console title that's faithful to the original PC game, and it's still in Beta. Releasing in November, single player missions and online play too...

And it's NOT on Gamecube.

I know how you feel, I had my Xbox sitting around for about 2 months untouched so I just sold it, since I knew there wasnt much I wanted for it in the near future to make it worth keeping.

PS2 is what I play the most, and I also reccomend you wait until E3 before you sell it.

put it this way, I plan on getting it on launch it is so awesome. It is def. going to be the killer app for the system, and it does do a great job of recreating battlefield 1942

Yes it is pretty awesome, isn't it...?

Let me tell you something, if you think trading in your PS2 for a gamecube is a good idea than go ahead. But don't expect to be getting much playing time out of the GCN either. As a GCN owner I can tell you that it doesn't get much play either. GC only has a few great titles and good games for it are hard to come by. I have RE4 ,played and loved it, but how many times can you play the same game over and over again. The next game I'm looking foward to is Killer7 and that's a few months away and after that you'll have to wait a few more months to get your hands on Fire Emblem and then Zelda. So in a few words the gamecube avg. about 5 good games a year. While IMO the PS2 has at least 10-20 must play games every year. Just this past month you had God of War (if you like action games you owe it to yourself to play this one) and before that you had GT4, Tekken 5, Devil May Cry 3, also keep an eye on a few great RPG's such as Disgaea and Shin Megami Nocturne (if you like this game you might want to also play Digital Devil Saga). I would say keep your PS2 and buy a refurb GCN if you really want to play RE4 and Zelda.

Are you into any of Sony's first party stuff? Sly, Ratchet, Jak, and Socom will all be making reappearances.

They've also got the fps Cold Winter coming out. It doesn' t look like anything revolutionary but looks like it might have fun online play.

are you playing it?

if so, what is your name?

Maybe we could play a round or two before it ends this week (I tried to get some people on here who have it to play with me, but aside from playing with CrashSpyro once, I have not seen many CAGs playing)

my sig is bmull. I've only played 6-8 hours and I'm pretty green (i.e, a walking target) but this game really does recreate the feel of BF1942 very well. I really didn't expect such a polished game for an Alpha test.

My gamecube gets WAY more playtime than my PS2. There are plenty of great games....I think it just depends on what you like. I am pretty much aganist playing RPG's now as I played them for years and years and am now I'm officially sick to death of them. The PS2 does have some great action games like Devil May Cry, God of War, Sly so on and so forth. I also keep it around for some old PS1 games that I don't want to part with. I also have a few backlog titles that I need to play which is fine by me because I'm not jumping in head first for the next gen. If there are no games you want though for the PS2 sell it....I'm awaiting Episode III Revenge of the Sith (No gamcube love there).

If you really don't have any existing PS1 or PS2 titles you want to play.. sell it, you can always buy a PS3 in a couple of years.

But have you really gone over the list of released titles and found nothing?

The only games that seem interesting are Metal Gear 4 and Namco X Capcom.
IMO I think the PS2 was a disappointment overall. PS1 was great. All those kick ass rpgs and games like castlevania and MGS.
All i really liked on PS2 were NBA games. Final Fantasy X was the only rpg that was decent.
Xenosaga, Disgaea, Kingdom Hearts were all disappointments.
I was surprised there werent any original resident evil games released on the PS2. Those spinoff games really pissed me off.

Maybe ill come back to PS2 in time for Metal Gear 4 or PS3.
I've had all 3 systems and I just think that I had the most fun with the cube.

I'd sell it, there are too few games coming out. So i'd sell it, save the money for a next-gen system. I would also wait for comfirmation of the backwards compatibility of the PS3

I don't mind posts like this. If you don't like it, don't read it LOL

But all that aisde, I am kinda having the same problem because all I do is play on XBOX Live (bearpaw 62 if anyone is interested). I did however just ebay quite a few old titles for really cheap, so to me that make the PS2 worth keeping around.

I would love to say get rid of the PS2, there are better systems out there but the PS2 is such a popular system to developers. Just about EVERYTHING goes to it... cutting the PS2 out of your collection cuts out so many games (and sometimes, whole genres. Where else are you going to find Katamari or a system wholly blessed with RPGS - when you include PS1 games?

I would love to say get rid of it, but i just can't lol. Trade in games and get a 'cube
