ICO for PS2 (OOS again) at GS.com for $34.99

Got my copy today. Came with a case but no manual. Disc has the "blue" back and while it showed a bit of wear it was, overall, in very good condition. Threw it in the PS3 and it started up with no problems.

I'm happy. I'll play it later. I loved Shadow of the Colossus so looking forward to this.

took me long enough to find this.... but yeah, 5 copies of ICO are in stock as of right now at Gamestop.com. i bought 1, 5 left. If I can restrain from hoarding, so can you El Hoardo! Have at it.

$28.68 shipped! I was going to save all my credit for the B2G1, but I couldn't resist... (4 left)

EDIT: Coincidentally, three stores around me (the closest is 45 minutes away) have this showing as in stock... wtf? I guess it's good to know I've got an option if the one I get from GS.com is crappy...

I seen a porno with Son Doobiest.

I got it for around $25~ from a store close to us with employee discount. Game, Manual, Case... in pretty good condition.

So, how much is a sealed copy of this worth then? Got someone to pick one up for me for like $5ish at the kmart clearence years ago and never got around to trying it, lol.

ebay says about $120-135 for new and sealed

Looks like I've got one at the GS nearest work, and one nearest home. May have to get one of those held.

I would wait for Last Guardian to release and then put yours on ebay for $250 shipped. Let it sit till it sells. It is next to impossible to find Ico still sealed so some collector will eventually buy it.

PS2 games with a "blue" back are CD-ROMS.
Saw one at a gamestop tonight complete but it said $39.99 now. Guess it will be $50 next week.
no. the $39.99 price is the in-store price. $34.99 is the online price. GS offers a lower price for certain games online so the can add traffic and sales to there web-site. i seriously doubt that this game will be $50 next week.

I got a copy a few months ago at a local pawn shop for $10. Funny thing, it had come from a Gamestop! Can't believe it goes for this price. I loved it, but all the friends I lent it too said it was awful. *shrug* More for me.

Damn, I can't believe pay this! I see new copies of ICO for $20 at Sears all the time, Wal-Mart in my area uses to have copies in their cheap bin too.

 Feel like grabbing a copy for me? :D

It took quite some time for me to find a copy of ICO in stock at a Gamestop and by the time I did they freakin' raised the price to $40.

you should go pick them up they'll be worth a fortune when last guardian comes out

Aaaaaaaaaand it is. :bomb:

Man, lucky I grabbed this game from eBay before the last guardian was announced. Since then it seems ICO has become harder to find and more expensive...I bought mine for ~$20.

Haha, wish I could say I was surprised . . .

And good luck with those stores around you that are listed as having copies in-stock. I've been to about 10 stores now that listed it as in-stock on the website, and out of those only one has actually had it (in terrible condition). I'm not saying that it's not possible, but GameStop's website seems to be . . . um, less than accurate with this one.

Seriously? I'll pay you extra if you can get me a copy. Or 2...Let me know.

I'm not sure what you mean by this. Are you saying they're fakes? Every copy I've ever seen has had a blue back.

No, they aren't fakes. They are supposed to have blue backs.

He's saying they aren't DVDs and are CDs.

Yeah pick me up a copy as well.

The original ones I think were the blue disc CD-ROMs. There are apparently black disc (DVD-ROM) ones too. I've only ever seen the blue also though so I don't really know if they were reprinted on the DVD-ROMs or what.

Edit: If there's black ones they may have been for some other region.

Let's not start any rumors now. All copies of ICO are blue compact discs. It was never reprinted on a DVD. The older games that took up less space than a DVD were put on this format. However, certain PS2's sometimes had hard time reading blue discs for some reason.

Maybe it's the PAL version that's black?

Which is the version that's got packing tape all over the top? B/c that's the one that I just got...

Pretty sure that's the rare ebay trailer park special edition.

Here's the PAL version disc:

The top is black, the bottom is silver. People really shouldn't be getting confused by this, though. All U.S. versions are blue and look like this:

Ouch...and here I was thinking I'm unlucky because one of my local Gamestops has 2 complete copies (albeit at the raised $39.99) but they are in "good" condition which isn't good enough for me to drop that much on another copy.

Definitely the best game I've ever had the pleasure of playing. I lusted after this game for a number of years, until finally (and luckily) stumbling upon a pristine collector's copy at my local GameStop (for $20). Upon leaving the store, I was given a hero's send-off by other customers: "ICO is such an awesome game, man! You're going to love it!" "Nice find! Killer deal on that copy! You'll love it!" Completely and utterly worth paying artificially-inflated prices, in my opinion.

Man, now I feel like calling off of work and playing through it again...

Either way, Sony needs to get on releasing a remastered collection of the Team ICO games on the PS3. If we could get some grown-up artwork this time around, I'd appreciate it. Because, despite being the best video game ever conceived, ICO has some NES-Mega Man-quality box art.

Good luck to anyone still trying to track down a copy.

Yeah, I'm returning my ghetto copy.
I was so excited. I've been looking for this game since I played Shadow of the Colossus.

I bought this game new in 2002, played it for an hour or two, and gave up on it. I got so annoyed, trying to drag the little girl around. What a pain! I definitely wished I had kept it though, I'd like to try it again.

Its back in Stock again. (For a few minutes anyway). I sent back the last copy I ordered. The case was cracked and the disc was scratched to hell. It would have been different if I had paid $15 for it but it was $30- and Now I see they've raised the price- again.

looks like there's 3 left. i ordered another one and I'm taking my ghetto copy to the local store. i might as well give it another shot, i guess.

Wait.....your Sears still has new copies of Ico? Would you mind picking up extra copies for us fellow CAG's for a good price?

Haha, it's probably back in stock because they put the one that you returned back on sale. ;)
I have one brand new, sealed. My wife wants to sell it but I never played the game. Was hoping to get around it some day but I keep buying cheap games so I never have the time...
Selling a sealed copy for profit is pretty much the only way to benefit from that game. I've never understood the cult following behind ICO. I beat it a couple years ago and I found it to be one of the most boring games I've ever played.

I had a good used copy from gamestop about 2 years ago. Didn't like the beginning so I returned it. Love SotC though. Hopefully they'll package it with the new game or put it on PSN.

ANY game can be boring, it just depends on what you enjoy.
