As I understand it, the "hardcore" tourmament player community doesnt want any of the extra modes or online play, but the online play thing has more to do with lag and it not being up to their standards. They only care about competition so they have high requirements for balance, even at the cost of mainstream accessibility. Anything that takes attention away from balancing and tweaking during development is bad.

There are probably good reasons why the likes of Tekken 6, Soul Calibur 4 and Virtua Fighter 5 will remain offline.

An aside on lag, it may seem silly to bitch about a miniscule amount of frames, but those nutty tournaments players and their frames. I remember asking this Japanese guy who had placed 3rd in SC2 nationals in Japan, what the difference between American players/tournaments and Japanese ones were. He said that they dont do double elimination in Japan, and that everyone knows their frames. Some of these windows are extremely small. I believe SC2 Ivy's 5 hitter (the name escapes me) - the last hit has an input window of exactly 1 frame. 1/60th of one second. I've never done it once.

The cold sucks. Part of the reason I can't wait to move back is so I don't have to deal with the cold.

I decided to start working on the paper I am writing about Korea. I can already tell it is going to be a bitch to write even if I have already done a lot of research.
 
Wow - just beat 'Six' on Expert. Was over my friends playing co-op when i told him(he plays on easy/medium) I'd show him a crazy hard song that I can barely make %25 complete.
Of course I beat it that time. Yay. Now only Jordan eludes me, and im sure will always elude me.
 
Desert is weird like that. I was passing through Arizona on the way to L.A. in September, and though it was hot during the day, it was downright cold at night. I'm used it either being hot or cold in a somewhat even fashion

Just a tip, don't apply to a school unless you're absolutely sure that you'd be happy going there. Applying to a bunch of schools as "back-ups" isn't a good idea because you'll more than likely end up at the least desirable university. The UC system makes an effort to make sure you get accepted to at least one of your choices, so aim for the best places for you to go.

Man now I'm torn. I have a paycheck coming tomorrow plus like 50 bucks from my brother for taking care of his kid and taking his wife to the dentist. Then next Friday I get my first real paycheck. Now I can survive on the PS2 for a long time coming, but I want something new. It's either going to be a DS(Mainly for FF3 at this point), a 360(Which I believe would get the most immediate use w/ Halo 2, GoW and Call of Duty 3), or a PS3 in a few more weeks. I used to be a huge Sony fanboy, but damn if I'm not starving for some Halo 2.

Yeah, I stayed up too late again last night and slept in a couple of hours this morning so I will take the blame for that one. Anytime I open up my laptop in the morning and see that I have 25 new messages, I know something great is going down. :)
