Comparing console games vs. PC games. = Stupid.

And since when is Half-Life 2 2 years old? I bought it about a year when it was still fairly new.
 
As a CAG, your cheapness probably spreads to other facets of your life, beyond video games.

I havn't been impressed by any of the xbox360 game graphics. At least the revolutionary gameplay of games like Halo,Doom 3,Final Fantasy(Mistwalker),ghost recon,rainbow six,pd0, and splinter cell will go on and on and on for at least ten more years. With slightly better graphics to boot.

The first gen games will all suck in comparison to the games that come out in few years. Other than Halo, the other games for Xbox looked like butt.
 
that screenshot doesn't look any better than some of the action in PDZ....

ps. launch games are always the bottom of the barrel. the 360 clearly has more than enough power to run better looking games than HL2.

Doom 3 has revolutionary gameplay? I don't know about that one.
 
I don't know, why would a first generation game for a new console look worse than a PC game that was in development for 5 years with an engine built from the ground up with recommended specs that would make any PC nerd piss their pants?

I don't get it either.

PDZ has been in development for the same amount of time from the Gamecube to the Xbox now debuting on the 360. So there is your own foot in your mouth Quacky.

Yes, and each time they jump platforms they need to restart from scratch. Jumping systems is a bad thing for a game in development.

If the Xbox can run Half Life 2, what makes you think that it couldn't run and look as good on the 360 if they were given the time to devolp for it.

Oh, and next time, if you MUST compare a PC to any other game, make sure you grab a picture of the latest build of a console game, not a severely outdated build. Maybe it's just me, but I think the latest pictures look pretty good for a console.

If you wanna do HL2 vs PDZ console wise, HL2 doesn't look all that great on consoles.
 
The Perfect Dark screenshot is old. The game looks much better now. Graphics wise. I'm turned off by the gameplay from the vids that I've seen.
 
the fanboys really come outta the woodwork for console launches. Nobody expects PDZ to be the best graphics ever. It's basically an xbox game that's being beefed up for the 360. I think it'll be fun and I'll play it a lot. I think Half-Life 2 on Xbox will be fun too, can't wait to pick that one up.

I never understand why people will sit here and waste time arguing about games instead of playing them and having fun. Thanks to the OP for starting a discussion that will only serve to make everyone who participates less inteligent and wasting everyone's time. If you like PC then good for you, but don't try to convert people like its a religion or something.
 
PC Vs. Xbox 360 again?

Last I checked I was buying something that does not need to be upgraded every 2 months and does not need costly Graphics Cards, RAM, HD Space, Patches every week, Drivers, Installations, etc. If you want to discuss this, do it in the PC forum.
 
#1 that computer uses Intergrated graphics processor it'll run HL2 shitty (if even at all)
Plus you have to pay for shipping (which tiger direct charges a huge amount for)

I play tons of PC games but I see this system for what it is, a console. I'm sick of these dumbasses thinking they're so cool by making these posts.

I've gotta say that that graphics solution with that much shared ram (which is probably 166MHz or something disgustingly slow) won't play HL2 at anything we'd want to look at with any sort of decent frame rate. X200? Integrated? Ewwww.

I doubt we'll see anything for about a year that will actually harness power that you can't get on the PC. Stupid multi core coding. Then I'm sure the PC will get a better set of DirectX or OpenGL and pwn the 360.

Anyone else think the PS3 is gonna become vaporware?
 
Keep in mind i'm a hardcore pc gamer, but first off i think its hard to compare HL2 to Perfect dark Zero its two different leagues. Secondly, dont knock a game until you haven't seen it in motion. I admit that i really am not as excited about PDZ as i thought i would be, but that doesn't mean the day it comes into my store i'm not going to crack one open and try it, because motion vs. still captures can do wonders for a game. Imagine looking at F.E.A.R and saying wow screenshot looks good, but the SS doesn't capture the real beauty of that game. So IMO SS are totally useless, and if they're form EA for that matter they always doctor them anyway. Moral of the story SS suck, Gameplay (running) rules.

I'm not going to comment of the screenshots in the OP, but I will say this.... The Xbox 360's graphics are extremely unimpressive across the board. For a $300 - $400 next-gen console, it's extremely lacking, even by launch standards. Not to mention the games are now $60 MSRP, and $70 for "collector editions."

I'm still very uneasy about this next-gen. The PS3 hasn't show us anything... literally. The Revolution has yet to prove itself in any way. The Xbox 360 has been half-assed in every single catagory to the point where it feels like a slap in the face to the gamers, and is coming in an obvious rush to launch.

I honestly think the best thing to do is to wait it out, and not buy until we get a chance to see how things turn out, and see what Sony and Nintendo really bring to the table. The temptation is a bitch though.
