whoa. my brain can't handle this page.

the mega man video brought everything I know to be true into question after the Lucky Star intro made me realize that J-pop knows no bounds.

keep the bad fighting games coming...I'm going to do an article/blog entry about how I used to play anything that looked remotely like SF2 and MK when I was younger. I'll post it when it's done a while from now. I may have to do it in parts, since there's a buttload of them.

Also, I should have an xbox to go online with in a few days. I posted a want ad for one on Craig's list looking for one for $75. Got a bunch of responses and counter-offers for less. If someone offers $60, I'm golden :)

I'll be up for 3S and CvS2! Makoto ftw.

Fantastico. If you have the system and 3S this weekend or... shit anytime after I guess... lemme know.

I'm actually a real life father and my daughter knows a grip of shit about fighting games already... she learned how to hadouken and super hadouken at age 4.

The average (read: everyone) in my school questions how to block or jump. Therefore, your 4-year old daughter is playing at a Graduate level. Congrats on the prodigy.

Edit: Jekki is still the son you don't talk about. You wanted to forget, but couldn't.

Only reason I thought you were older is cause I know that you have a daughter and i assumed that you've been through school already. Most people don't mature until like late 20's these days for whatever reason so that's why I figured. Sorry if I offended you at all.

jim, don't worry about it, no offense taken... :)

I really do hope though we can all meet/hang out at EVO2007... we should CAG thread tournies for a bunch of fighting games... EVEN THE SHITY ONES!

Video tape em and take over the world...

Winner gets a Play-Asia $5 off coupon... if thats not a CAG tourney I don't know what is...
also.... someone play me in 3s
I can't freakin stand the 360 rock though, so I can't play Yun :bomb:

Yeah I thought it was out tomorrow also but the ship date is now the 25th on EB/GS website. So it might have gotten pushed back a day.

Speaking of fighters, for some odd reason I remembered this game:

kasumininja.jpg

God, it was bad.

Interestingly/Frighteningly, we already brought that ... game? up and had a video of it in action. It really is fuckin' terrible.

Well, I don't know if that was you or that was me, but there was some serious lag on one of our matches and I got signed off Live right after you won...

You're really good..I almost had you there for one round and you pulled off that amazing move with Akuma..!

By the way, you've been at this game way longer than me, any opinions on the way I play? what should I practice? what should I work on?

got an Xbox for $50. snap. picking it up tomorrow.

practice your parries kids.

I'll be online if anyone wants to kick my ass at 3S. Sarausagi, I shot a friend invite your way. I forgot how long your XBL membership was for.

To answer DomLando's question, I'll be picking up Card Fighters as well.

I think it'd be funnier to buy a Tekken 6 machine and replace the game with Primal Rage. Think of the disappointed kids.

I can almost see a tear rolling down Rolento's cheek.

Yeah now I have more matches than victories (I should be 13/13, but I'm only 12/13 :wall:)

Nah it's cool though. I just wish that I wasn't playing at like 25%. Then you'd get to see some genei-jin goodness. I tried doing some Aegis Reflector stuff but I couldn't really get it to work.

My advice to you is to broaden your horizons a bit, and to learn some basic combos and stuff. I'll be glad to play again with you whenver if you really wanna learn some stuff.

So I finally decided that I would get a PS3 over a 360, but freakin Microsoft had to go and make Panzer Dragoon Orta and Street Fighter Anniversary collection backward compatible. Funny how a little thing like that could sway my decision. I'd really like to play some of you guys in SF3 but I really want to play VF5 as well.

i wouldn't think that you could do genei-jin goodness (or badness) on XBL because of the lag...

i remember playing on an LCD against some people and they complained about the lag a ton, it wasn't that noticeable unless you played yun. and that's just tv lag.

The controller is the real impediment. Next gen, MS will send a rep to stab you in the cock if you even think about controlling a fighting game decently.

That actually happened to me once.

yeah i have tv lag, internet lag, backwards compatibility weirdness and controller impedence all working against me

Mission Valley Centre Mall :)

We had a lot of the more non mainstream fighting games in our arcades here...

Anyone want to play HSFII on XBL?
lol, too much funny talk,

but also ~2-ish pages of obscure fighting games with no mention of this:

Yeah, if I ever get a real cab, half nekkid chicks would be praying to it too.

Wonder what the wife would say about that?

Well, if it was Primal Rage...she might not be so happy.
Star Gladiator (aka Plasma Sword)
plasma_sword4.jpg

I played this once at an arcade in San Diego. It sucked.
This was definatly a step back in the series. Star Galdiator for PS1 was much better. All the clones were ridiculus.

Galaxy Fight, a very lame name but another obscure fighter that was actually pretty good. I think it's the only game where my favorite character was a chick. I liked that red-haired biker chick, Juri, she kicks high:

I'm guessing that we'll finally get Cyberbots and Powered Gear on the next Capcom Classics Collection... honestly, I hope we do get a compilation rather than seeing these games at $10 a piece on XBLA.

What about Zero Divide, anyone ever play it? I remember I wanted this badly when the ps came out but I already had Saturn

Also anyone know if Killing ZOne was bad.

I actually have a bad fighting game collection. I just picked up Dark Rift for N64 :)

Also I played Mace: The Dark Age with some friends for about a half hour the other day. That game isn't TERRIBLY bad. It's actually pretty entertaining.

Need some advice guys...Arcade Shock apparently has a very small stock of (new?) HRAP2's (the online version) for sale. These are really hard to find, but I'm wondering if I should bite the bullet and just get it, or just say screw it and stick with my Tekken 5 stick?

I remember Dark Rift! I used to fuckin' love that game back when it came out in '97. I think I played as Aaron and the guy with the sword (he holds the sword behind him for whatever reason)... I also really wanted Mace: The Dark Age, but I couldn't get it because it was rated M and my parents wouldn't let me buy it. I remember there was some code to play as a janitor which I thought was funny at the time... but looking back on it, I guess that shows where Midway's talents were (or weren't.)

Man, I had bad taste then. I realized just how bad when I got my PS1 in '98 and started playing shit like Tekken 3 and Rival Schools. Then I understood the N64's place.

Haha Dark Rift is legitimately one of the worst games ever if you go back to it... seriously try it out if you still own it. Your eyes will BLEED.

It's really up to you, if your Tekken stick is still working and if you are happy with it. Both Chac and Jim told me good things about the Tekken stick, so I went ahead and got a trade going with another CAG member. I heard the HRAP1 and 2 are good, but most people swap out the sticks/buttons. I think it's all hooked up via quick disconnects, so it shouldn't be too hard.

Guilty Gear XX AC on Wii? Playing that shit on Wii is the worst thing any fighting game fan could do. Sorry DomLando. It's coming out in Japan on PS2 at the end of May, that is all that matters. Also the fact that my friends and I can use our cade sticks for the PS2 version makes me me a little biased :)

Ballz. A friend of mine actually has that for SNES. I played about 15 minutes worth with him a couple months ago. I didn't know whether to laugh, cry or jump out his window.

Oh yeah I will be importing GG Accent Core for PS2. I would be shocked if they could make this work well for Wii. I just wish there was a way to play imports on my PS3 so I don't have to keep my modded PS2 hooked up.
