[In stock!] Final Fantasy XII for $37.99 at CircuitCity.com!

My wife pricematched at BB and she got the art book. It's about the size of a manual and looks pretty good. It's got individual pages for all the main characters and the judges. It has little bios for the characters but nothing on the judges but their names. It's probably most of the artwork from the guide but it's nice that it was free.

My local CC are filled with fucken assholes, so I just went straight to BB.

I grabbed FFXII and the art book (dvd case) and asked someone to PM. I didn't have the ad so I told them to go to CC site... they PMed for me, but I had to tell them to give me the Art book for free as I am buying the game... which they did :)

I also picked up Contact (DS) with GGC for $25, pretty sweet deal.

To sum it up: BB is  while CC is fucken shit.

Anyhow, a BIG THANK YOU to OP and the OP for the BB art book thing (couldnt find that post).
I picked up FFXII at Circuit City for $32.99

I used the 10% off any game $19.99 or higher but the CSR took off 10% from the $50 retail price.
IMO, the artbook at BB is not worth an extra $5
Where did you get the 10% coupon?
Where did you get the 10% coupon?
In last month's issue of Official Xbox Magazine.

BTW, the same 10% coupon is in the recent OXM too.

OK, thanks.
They are good as long as the ad is running. Another thing you can do to, is buy it at best buy, then price match it at customer service. Because if you buy it, then pricematch, they beat the price by 10%. So you get it for 37.99-10%.
and so buying it THEN pricematching it is also only good as long as the ad is running?

I want to go pick this up in a few hours but all of the Circuit City's are sold out. Will BB only price match if they have it in stock at CC? Or is it kind of YMMV?

Well, what the fuck. I tried ordering this through IE and Netscape, and with both, while it lets me add the item to my cart, it keeps emptying my cart right before checkout. Is this a "cookie" issue? Or is their site glitching up?

EDIT: Nevermind. The site is apparently out of stock, which is strange, because in the past, you couldn't even add a backordered/sold out item to your cart in the first place. I added a Memory Card just to see what happened, and it offered options for shipping or store pick-up where there was nothing for the game. Doing this also enabled me to be "notified" when they have it again (which will probably be for 5 minutes once more during the sale week).

I think its YMMV but the BB I went to didn't call CC to check on stock status; and when one girl was going to the other people told her not to.

They don't always bother to check though the written policies state that if the stores they call are out of stock, they won't honor the PM. When I had my FFXII PM'ed at Bestbuy, the girl didn't call the nearby CC. She just looked at my ad and brought up the discount and told me the total.

Yeah this deal was great!

$37.99 PM'd
-$5.00 GGC
-$3.00 Best Buy Bucks (I got from a friend that wasn't going to use them)
======
$29.99 + tax = $31.49 after all is said and done!

Getting a new title this amazing for $29.99 brand new is an amazing deal!

YMMV on using the GGC with a PM and using your Best Buy Bucks I bet. Luckily I usually never have a problem at my BB, it's usually my local CC that gives me trouble.

Plus I got the free Artbook at BB too! :)

I just got back from the CC off the tollway and monfort in Dallas. Online it showed as out of stock, but I went ahead anyways up there. I found the last copy on the shelf. So, you may want to check your local CC.

I thought BB does not apply the GGC with PM...they told me that it was considered double dipping.
Good pickup.

I went to BB cause CC was sold out, picked up the game and artbook and asked one of the workers where I needed to go for the price match. She looked at the game/artbook combo and said "You have to go to customer service, but you can't get the artbook if your going to price match." I said "Okay, thanks!" went over to CS where they pricematched AND gave me the artbook. Triflin' ass bitch......fuck BB people, man!

P.S. Unless you're a subscriber, buying a $10 magazine to save 10% on $37.99 is a bad idea.

Wow... you must have some really generous Best Buy manager because I know that would involve an override. Their system won't even allow 2 of those to combine. Both the GGC and the BBB discount from the base price of the item so trying to use more than 1 of those things would normally cancel out the others.

Like I said, YMMV.

I'm kind of pissed off. I went to Circuit City, they had to search for it for like 20 minutes, and then they wouldn't let me use the 10% off coupon. She says "that doesn't work with other promotions". Supposedly the system won't let you do it. I could have it for 10% off, OR the $38 price.

She was kind of mean about it, so I ended up going to Best Buy for a price match.

I don't know though. If this was a "real" FF game I'd gladly pay that much, but I'm not sure it's worth it to me for $40.

I did find out from a fellow CAG that is supports 16:9, which is cool! It doesn't even say it on the back of the box (I've noticed Playstation 2 games frequently don't list features they actually have.)

Not sure if this will help anyone, but...

I went to CC tonight to get a copy and they were out. The ever-so-helpful game guy there (and no, that was not sarcasm) informed me their trucks come in Friday and the game should be on it.

Yeah, I am about 4 hours into it and the game is great so far. It does support 16:9 and it looks great on my widescreen HDTV, especially the FMV. The art and creative city architecture and characters always impress me in FF games.

It's different than the typical FF, but it's just as possible to like the differences. Moreover, there seems to be about twice as much gameplay. I'm at over 80 hours right now myself.
My CC refused to match the price, they had like 50 copies though...bastages.
Match the price? It's in this week's ad for that price.

i would rent the game before buying. I didnt care for it and glad i didnt buy it. I rather keep the 40 bucks and pick up FF3 in 2 weeks

uh, its their own sale price this week. They dont have to match it, it should ring up that price already.

I'm not sure about this one - the last FF I loved was VII and didn't like X or X-II. Anybody have any opinion as to how XII compares?

The good: It's not like X or X-2.

The bad: It's not like FFVII either.

It's unlike any FF yet. Some will like the changes. Some will not.

It's got a bit more of an MMO style to it. There's lots of hunts, lots of looting, lots of agro, and lots of buffs. And enough exploration to give even DQ a run for its money.

Story is less romantic than most prior FF, and more sparse. A bit of a smarter story.

I think the best thingto do is simply give it a try. Maybe fnd a friend who you can at least watch for a couple minutes. Or even dump the money on the rental. If it can't be done this week, buy it from CC anyway if it's not too far out of the way. Then just bring it back if your try proves fruitless in a week or two.

Be forewarned though. Game is long as hell. First RPG (and I've been playing since FF1 and Dragon Warrior) that I'll spend more than a 100 hours on a single quest.

Well - it's a change from what I really disliked about X and X2. I've got a 20 dollar gift card so I think I'd be foolish to pass it up for 17 bucks.

Thanks for the reply!

My Circuit City was SOLD OUT, could you believe it? I was shocked myself. I blame any nearby CAGs.

Luckily, you didn't beat me.

I snagged an ad on the way out, and went to the nearby Best Buy. Couldn't find it on the shelfs there, but they had some carts laid out and lo and behold, there was ONE copy just lying there. Swoop! Mine.

Making sure how the price matching worked, I went to customer service and asked if I could get the game for this price. Sure, she said. Just present the ad. No problem, sweetie.

Glancing around, I noticed some odd DVD case called the Art Collection. It just screamed freebie, so I grabbed it and asked the nearby employee what it was, free or not? Let's go find out, he chimes.

So we walk up and ask about the art collection. He scans it, and it comes up $14.99. $15 for this? You are joking, remove that crap. But wait, out of the corner of my eyes, the employee is scanning the ad and right there it says "FREE ART BOOK". It's free! It's free! He talks to the clerk. The clerk is stumped, he must be new. He asks a higher-up, who explains how to get the ad, he types it in. Bing, a popup appears - "FREE ART BOOK WITH PURCHASE". I show him the ad, he price matches it, and I get a free art book.

Not bad, not bad at all. Though I dunno why I wanted the art book. Free stuff is good.

I felt like making a story out of this.

A short run or (especially) the DQ8 demo really doesn't do the game justice. The game continues to add new elements hours into the adventure, and there's a lot of experimentation to be done with the battle styles/gambits/etc. I'm absolutely in love with it.

Why is that a bad thing?

Looks like fry's will have the same price as CC this week. I just saw the news paper ads and stated "Low price" beside NCAA07 360 which is priced at 37.99
Why is that a bad thing?
Not bad at all. Just bad in his case, since he seemed to like VII but dislike X and X-2. I don't think VII was the best among them myself, but I do thing it was pretty solid. Over glorified, yes, but not too bad a game.

XII is pretty refreshing. The depth of the gameplay elements might even make VI look pale by comparison.

It was back in-stock pretty much all day yesterday. That's when I nabbed it. (Of course, I changed my home page to the item page, but whatever.)

I hate to say it, but if their Madden '07 (360) sale was any indication, there will be no second restocking of this game before the sale price ends. That was it. Sorry.

P.S. Don't count on notification emails from Circuit City for these sorts of deals. I got screwed with Madden because of it, and I never got an email for this game, either.

Got it at Best Buy, Circuit didn't have it in stock. Wasn't able to use a GGC but I used a RZ cert and got it for $35 after tax with art collection.

As anticipated there was indeed a restock of this title at my local CC on Friday. Nabbed a copy and am now six hours into it. Love it but, man, talk about level crawling...
