Indigo GameCubes at Target 69.99 on 6-15

Starting tomorrow, Target is going to have a temporary price cut of all Indigo colored Gamecubes for 69.99. Also, the Zelda Collection Gamecube bundles will be going 69.99 as well

Could someone who bought an indigo gamecube please post the UPC number from the box? That would be great because I need to check something...
What do you need it for?
Probably to make a UPC tag and take it to a Target to get scanned, to verify if the price is nation-wide... Good idea...
Is this the barcode on the Game Cube?
I don't know, but I dont think so... Is there one on the box?

Is this the barcode on the Game Cube?
I don't know, but I dont think so... Is there one on the box?
The box or the Game Cube. :? I don't know what the hell's going on here. :)

It's the one on the back of the box...I have the barcode for the Jet Black one, but I want to check the Indigo one.

Damn, Sorry I got back so late but here's the scoop for those of you who can still make it to Target. This price seems most definitely nationwide...Only problem is you need to get a raincheck if your Target is out of stock. So...Go here-http://www.upcdatabase.com/ and enter the UPC# 045496940010, get the barcode, print it out, and take it to your store. Go to your local Target and check the barcode on a barcode scanner just to be extra sure. Ask an employee if they have any Indigo GCN in stock, if no, show them the barcode and when they scan it it'll show up and the cheap price...Then ask for your Raincheck :D

Just as a precaution get the barcode for the UPC# 045496940027...That's for the black GCN and it will show up at the regular $99.99 price. Show it to an employee just in case they think you are trying something funny.
Will you be able to get a different color?
In most cases you should, but the employee wrote Indigo on my raincheck. But I think I could convince any cashier that he meant something else. I'm going to try to get a GBA:SP with the raicheck.

If it doesn't work out, I'll be glad to send someone my raincheck, only problem is, it says the name of my city on the top, so who knows if it will be accepted at other Targets.

Today I've gotten FF:CC, Mario Party 5, Pikmin, and X2 at Game Rush and Block Buster. I love them.

You shouldnt get a raincheck for this. Rainchecks are only for advertised items, not temporary price cuts. They might give you a raincheck, but they are wrong in this situation.

I don't have Target's policies stored in my head for reference  ...I went and asked for a raicheck and they gave me one...It's not like I forced the employee to do anything he didn't want to do. I wasn't going to make a big fuss if I didn't get one.
Anyway, do you work for Target or do they have a policy against this somewhere where I can read it? I just want to know for future reference, I don't want it to sound like I'm dogging you or anything.

My sarcasm detectors aren't on this late so if you really want to know about policies for stores, there should be a thread with several stores policies somewhere. 8)
So about this Circuit city deal... when was this?
I'm not sure. The guy never responded. :?

Well, we've come a long way to see the gamecube go from $250 (in Nov 2001 at launch) and now at $69.99 (here in June 2004)! :) And someone said $40 at CC, I've never heard of that....must have gone under the radar of this website 8) !

Consider yourself lucky to get this system that cheap, its definitely worth every penny! (I got mine for 139.99 in christmas 2002 and I thought that was a good deal ) I hope the xbox comes down for $60 or $70 soon too ! :p

The official Target policy is they can only issue rainchecks for items in the weekly sales ad. Temporary price cuts and special purchases don't count. However, if you type the item number into the register it'll issue a raincheck for any item with any kind of discount on it, including temp. price cuts. A lot of Target employees (especially the front end cashiers) are not aware of the policy so if you give them the item DPCI they'll issue a raincheck for it

Last week they did have Gamecube plus Luigi's mansion for $99.99 at Circuit City. It's really only $10 more than this deal. The best thing about that deal was you could get any color cube and they did not run out of games or systems.

Gamecube's launch price was $200 not $250.

I sort of remember the $40 deal. Zany Brainy was clearing out the Gamecube systems at that price and some people got Circuit City to price match it. It was very YMMV

This is a legit offer guys. I went to my Target armed with the UPC. None in stock (they have not seen the Indigo one in ages). They scanned, and it came up $69.99. I now have a rain check.

Good thing about it is they have a policy where you can substitute from the same category. Thus, I can get a black or platinum one for $69.99!!

I will pick it up next week.

In response to the post below, I just did this 30 minutes ago. So it is still on today.
So this deal is still going? I thought that the 69.99 deal was for 6-15 only?
I also thought that but I guess not.
Sj41, did you get the Zelda disc also or just the Gamecube for $69.99?
Just the GC. I was thinking that I wouldn't get one unless I could find the bundle but once I saw that it was the last one out of 2 stores, I just had to get it.

Deal is still working. I just picked up a raincheck at the target in Carson, CA. Way to go on the deal Raiden

Yeah, if I needed another GC I would get one, but I don't. But it would be a cheaper way if someone wanted one for Modding or something. Don't really know what you could mod it with other than physical stuff. But I would like to have a remote control On/Off button for my GC like I saw on Screen Savers for the Xbox. That is a feature that just should be put into the next batch of systems.

I just paid $99 for a platinum gamecube at Best Buy about two weeks ago. Can anyone tell me if and how I can go through the Price Match process with Best Buy on this? I'm not sure if I can since mine isn't indigo, and I'm also not 100% sure how the process works. (How do I get any kind of documentation to show BB employees that the deal exists, etc.) Any advice would be appreciated.

Out of curiousity, would an Xbox be considered to be in the same category? :)

the one on sepulveda? if so how many left?
He said he got a rain check so that means none are left. A rain check might be better since you can get whatever color you want. :)

Well I'm going to Target
The raincheck won't let you get an X-box for $69.99.. it will be for 33% off. Although it will still give you a new X-box for $115.50, not a bad deal really.

Heh, yeah, I know it wouldn't get me it for $69.99 :D

But where did you get $115 from? 33% of 150 is 50, so it would make it $100.

You guys sure a raincheck on gamecube would work on xbox? The prices are not the same and different system. If it work you could get a xbox for about a 100.5 and Halo xbox for 113.9.

Well this deal is most certaintly still going. My friend pulled it off today, we printed out the barcodes for the indigo cube and black cube. When we got to target tjhe indigo cube scanned for 69, we went up told the cashier and after a little bit of convincing she printed out the raincheck. Then about 2 hours later we went to a different target and my friend got a platinum cube for 69.99 with no hassle at all. I managed to pick up a 45% off raincheck on any game thanks to the target being sold out of ghost recon.
