Chopper 2 just launched and is $2.99 for a while. It's universal so you get it for iPad and iPhone/iPod Touch. He also has retina display optimized visuals for the iPhone 4. If you have an iPad and an iPhone/iPod Touch, you can use that as the controller for the iPad version. I tried it just now. It works really well!
price drops:

Splinter Cell Conviction HD ($9.99)

Thanks, picked up Master of Alchemy HD.

Already have Babo Crash HD and it is a great game, especially for free. But even for $.99 it is worth it.

I'm glad Gameloft finally released SC:C for iPad. They announced its release for the end of June a few months ago but must have run into problems. I'll pick it up whenever it goes on sale.

I know I must be a heretic but I thought Splinter Cell Conviction was the best of the Splinter Cell games thus far (360 version). It did away with a lot of the trial and error and made the stealth feel a little more fluid.

I'm really tempted to get the iPad version but I seem to always be a little let down by gameloft games. They look decent and while they are fun (more so for example when I only paid $.99 for BiA2) the gameplay feels a bit stale and janky. Very "Samey" if that makes any sense. They also seem to be either extremely easy or too hard due to control or tech issues.

Gameloft is getting aggressive with the ipad pricing, that is the 4th game of theirs that has dropped to 99 cents in recent weeks, wish I had passed on Brothers at Arms and Iron Man though, but Dungeon Hunter is a solid game. When will we get OS4, I need me some folders?

agree.

also, I just added Gangstar.

dungeon hunter is one of my favorite iphone games of all time, been waiting for a sale on the hd version to pick it up.
let me know how gangstar is. looks kinda cool.
Its a pretty decent GTA clone for .99, similar to any of the other Gameloft copies. I think there is a lite iphone version to try. I'd say it's definitely worth .99. I like dungeon hunter a lot more though.

Also, haven't seen Promini HD for 1.99 mentioned before(it says its a launch sale from 4.99). Its a very good Lumines clone that adds power ups to the game play. The controls took me some time to get use to because you swipe to rotate and tap to drop, I feel like it should be the other way around. But, I really like it(lumines is probably my all time favorite psp game).

Picked up Dungeon Hunter HD and Gangstar HD. Already had both of the iPhone versions of these when they went on sale for $.99 (thinking that iPad games rarely go on sale for so low) but I don't mind double dipping for HD at this price.

Btw, Lets Golf HD has been $4.99 for a while now (in fact, I don't think I ever saw it at $6.99).

Yes, Promini HD is a good Lumines clone, but the controls take some getting used to. Even with practice you can't control it with the speed and accuracy you would want for a Lumines game. I picked it up for $.99 and am happy with it. It would be interesting if the devs implemented on-screen virtual digital controls to see if they allow for better control then touch gestures.
And it is awesome!
Tunnel Shoot reminds me of N20 on the original PS (all it needs is the Crystal Method soundtrack.) Good times...

azkend hd is on sale for 1.99 from 4.99, a very good puzzler. A must buy for fans of the genre if you do not already have the iphone version.

Samurai received good reviews, lite version is out there for the ipod and it was free a couple weeks back on ipod; however, I have not played it yet. 99 cents seems like a good deal on that one.

Awesome deal on Nova HD. I bought it at full price ($6.99) when I got my iPad and was surprised how well a fps could control using a purely touch interface. A must buy at this price for fps fans.

Greatprice of Nova HD, I too bought at full price. I didn't expect to see price drops this fast on these top games so I guess I will have to be more patient. Kinda sucks to have to upgrade so many Iphone games that I already had bought but if they make them cheap enough I'm sure I will. I'm talking to you Angry Birds!

I have to learn to be more patient, I love my ipad and tend to buy games that look cool as soon as they come out. I could of saved alot of money at this point had I waited on all the price drops. It really kills me when I buy something and a few days later it drops in price, has happened to me 3 or 4 times so far.

Dang, good thing the thread title was updated. I hate activation, I don't even have an iPad, and I'm STILL being tempted to get Nova HD

James Cameron's Avatar for iPad is now on sale for a limited time ($7.99 -> $0.99)

Its nice to see the iPad finally get some love on the sales front. I'm normally pretty critical when it comes to gameloft games (not a lot of updates or bug fixes for one thing) but I really enjoyed Brothers in Arms 2 and Dungeon Hunter (for $.99) so at that price point I think I'll give Avatar a shot thanks for the heads up.

Yeah but we're still getting hosed on iPad vs iPhone app prices. Supposedly we're paying for "HD", but the new retina display is pretty damn close to the iPad in terms of pixels (1024x768 vs 960x640). The app market needs to start evening out the prices and offer more universal apps.

why, when they can squeeze 400-500 percent or more from you {.99 vs $4.99} and in some cases even 1200% for the same exact thing?

They wont even it out because its too easy to make that kind of money when people are willing to pay it.
