Apple iPhone & iPod Touch games in the App store are constantly going on sale. While I originally posted games and prices in this post, it's become almost impossible to keep up with it all. Feel free to post in this topic on good deals and games you enjoy. Developers are also encouraged to join in, especially if they are running promos or sales.

If you want to check out a particular game, try the following review sites, or ask in here so fellow CAG's can assist you.

App Review & Price Drop Sites

Important Notes:

 1. Make sure to check for periodic updates either in iTunes or on your iPod\iPhone. For each release of new firmware, theres is usually a bunch of games updated right afterward.
 2. Some applications also go on sale by their authors when they reach 1 million download and similar milestones.
 3. Apps often have specials the day before, during, and after holidays, regardless if said game/app is related to the holiday.
 4. Newly released apps will often have a % or dollar amount off for a limited period of time to gain a large following quicker. While browsing the app store you can go to a particular type or genre and order according to release date. This can make finding new app discounts faster.
 5. Make sure to backup your purchases in iTunes to CD/DVD for safe keeping. You can do this by clicking File-->Library-->Backup to Disc. Then choose all purchases, applications only, and full or incremental backup. How often is up to you, but I do this monthly, or more often if I buy alot of apps.
 6. Apps can be redownloaded without incurring an extra charge if you previously purchased it. This is good if you have a crash and forget to backup your purchases. I don't know if this is a pernament feature so backing up regularly is still important.
 7. I strongly advise not to buy iTunes Gift Cards by 3rd parties unless you know they can be trusted. Retail stores, receiving cards as gifts, etc are the best ways. There are many credit card scams, stolen cards, hacked cards going around, especially on Ebay.
 8. If you are the victim of a iTunes Card scam or get your account locked due to one not all hope is lost. Apple has been fairly lenient on these issues. Call Apple directly at 1-800-MY-APPLE, or check the iTunes Store support site at http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store. Also going to your local Apple Store to discuss it can help. The account locking is an automated process and can be reversed. This can take time so be cautious if you use gift cards from 3rd party sources.

Keep an eye out for EA's free Lemonade Tycoon. I seems to come in and out of the app store.

I'd give is a 9/10 and is far superior to any other lemonade style game on the iPhone. Advertisements do randomly pop up, but they do not detract from the game experience at all.

It features the most customization, many upgrades, animated scenes, multiple locations to sell, weather variables, etc.

Also, there is NO lag and the fast forward button allows you to better monitor your supplies and customer's thoughts. Like Roller Coaster Tycoon, they have little bubbles with expressions that pop in, dollar signs or sad faces, and if you tap them they will tell you what you are doing right or wrong.

You can upgrade appliances and your stand, hire workers to help, and advertise on three mediums - flyers, newspaper, and tv.

Multiple locations to sell cost you rent depending on their popularity. You may sell at the park, ballpark, amusement park, marina, suburbs, mall, tourist spots, train station, etc.

The game is VERY addictive. Look our for it in the US store soon. Considering it is free and the ads are minimal (they just pop up in gameplay and you can skip them immediately), there is no reason you should not download this.

Great job EA!

As a matter of fact, I just downloaded it last night. Pretty addictive.

I would really really REALLY recommend Space X, but for some reason it keeps crashing when you get to a certain point. :(

I emailed the company.

Edit: figured it out... I have to turn off all my winterboard stuff. I'm jailbroken.

I've been trying to get it for weeks now with no success. Just tried again right now and it's not there. This looks just like an iPhone-ized version of the game I love back on my Motorola years ago. Hope I can luck into it soon.

The Bobby Carrot games are on sale currently. Bobby Carrot Classic 1 and 2 are available for a buck each, and Bobby Carrot Forever is only 2.99.

I highly recommend Bobby Carrot Forever. It's a fantastic puzzle game, and as the app store description says, is kind of like a Zelda game without the action elements.
flight control is $0.99! buy it!
Def. worth $1! For those who already have FC, there's a nice little update that lets you attach your FC scores to your Twitter account and compare scores around the world.

Also the best feature in the update, pause and resuming if you exit the app!

I don't know... I think it's taken too long. I've now played the Mac version quite a bit. If this was going to be Peggle Nights it would be a must-buy as I haven't played that, but at this point do I need a version of Peggle Deluxe on my iPod touch? Well, maybe....

anyone try iFPS Online? Kinda fun and also proves the iphone/ipod touch has better analogue sticks than the PSP ;)
Drop7 now has a lite version. Full version is $3
Drop7 is REALLY good..I play it often
Lemonade tycoon is back on the app store. Get it Free before it disappears again!!
Downloading now. Thanks for the heads up! I've heard a lot of people rave about this game. :applause::applause:

Also, Tiger Woods PGA Tour hit the App Store today. Launching at $9.99, initial word is that people are impressed with the depth and visuals of the game (despite what the screenshots look like). I'd say that's too steep for me, though.

installing on my phone right now...hope its good
Wolfenstein 3d is $1.99 now.
Though for anyone that knows how to do it (I don't), the source code is free and can be installed on a jailbroken iPod touch legally.

Wolfenstein is well-worth $2. I picked it up at $5 and have no regrets.

re: Lemonade Tycoon: Any hints on recipe mixtures? I can't seem to get people to like my lemonade consistantly.
Treasures of Montezuma, a Bejeweled-like game, 99 cents.
This game is challenging, but is pretty fun. Great pick up and play since the levels are timed.

Always have lemons equal to double the sugar (eg, 14 lemons with 7 sugar or 16 lemon with 8 sugar). Adjust the ice according to the weather, more for a hot day, less for a cold day. Also, be sure to hit the train station as soon as you can afford the rent, you make a ton of money there. After about a month there, I was at the ballpark permanently and made thousands a day.

Ah thanks for the hints! :D

Also just picked up Puzzle Prism (50% off atm). I played the lite version first but could tell within the first few minutes I was going to like this game. Worth $2 imho.
Is Peggle on the app store? I can't find it.
May 12th is the word. Only a couple weeks left!

Ball slam is free for a limited time and looks pretty good as far a a brickbreaker game goes. Worth the download since it's free. You can always delete it later.

To anyone with geoDefense, don't update to 1.2. Something is wrong with the update and it won't let you play the game after updating.
Has anyone tried TapDefense? I love this game, its free, simple strategy game but good fun.
Its alright, but there are much better tower defense games if you are willing to put down a little coin. Frontrunners is great and its cheap now at $2.99. Also Square Enix has one called Crystal Defenders that is supposedly real good. And Iv sen a preview of one that takes place on a 3D globe called Star Defense.
