Since the old thread was getting too large, I made this new thread to continue.

Apple iPhone & iPod Touch games in the App store are constantly going on sale. While I originally posted games and prices in this post, it's become almost impossible to keep up with it all. Feel free to post in this topic on good deals and games you enjoy. Developers are also encouraged to join in, especially if they are running promos or sales.

If you want to check out a particular game, try the following review sites, or ask in here so fellow CAG's can assist you.

Apple iPad Information

Important Notes:

 1. Make sure to check for periodic updates either in iTunes or on your iPod\iPhone. For each release of new firmware, there's usually a bunch of games updated right afterward.
 2. Some applications also go on sale by their authors when they reach 1 million download and similar milestones.
 3. Apps often have specials the day before, during, and after holidays, regardless if said game/app is related to the holiday.
 4. Newly released apps will often have a % or dollar amount off for a limited period of time to gain a large following quicker. While browsing the app store you can go to a particular type or genre and order according to release date. This can make finding new app discounts faster.
 5. Make sure to backup your purchases in iTunes to CD/DVD for safe keeping. You can do this by clicking File-->Library-->Backup to Disc. Then choose all purchases, applications only, and full or incremental backup. How often is up to you, but I do this monthly, or more often if I buy a lot of apps.
 6. Apps can be redownloaded without incurring an extra charge if you previously purchased it. This is good if you have a crash and forget to backup your purchases. I don't know if this is a permanent feature so backing up regularly is still important.
 7. I strongly advise not to buy iTunes Gift Cards by 3rd parties unless you know they can be trusted. Retail stores, receiving cards as gifts, etc are the best ways. There are many credit card scams, stolen cards, hacked cards going around, especially on Ebay.
 8. If you are the victim of a iTunes Card scam or get your account locked due to one not all hope is lost. Apple has been fairly lenient on these issues. Call Apple directly at 1-800-MY-APPLE, or check the iTunes Store support site. Also going to your local Apple Store to discuss it can help. The account locking is an automated process and can be reversed. This can take time so be cautious if you use gift cards from 3rd party sources.
 9. If you somehow break your iPhone or iPod Touch, you have some options. If you bought the Applecare warranty it should be covered for most items. If your Applecare ran out or you don't have one, try these sites for do it yourself replacement parts & fixes.

^^^ya, tilt to live is just about to get a whole lot better...easily one of my all time favorites already too. plus, they are promising even more modes/power ups in the future. Chop Chop ninja for free is a must download.
Due to memory/slowdown issues. It keeps all the icons pre-loaded in memory, so when you change pages, everything is there instantly. (I assume beyond what they allow, the device will begin having performance issues, even if minor at first.)
Mine already has performance issues, and I just have 5 pages.

I don't know if this has been mentioned before, as it's a game that's been out for awhile but ...

DexIQ http://www.dexiq.com/

http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/dexiq/id343820907?mt=8

is awesome ... it's kind of like a warioware type game and the graphics and minigames are impressive and fun. Plus it's developed by the iphone game branch of the company Spicy Horse, which is called Spicy Pony. Why is this significant you ask?

Well because American McGee (of Alice and Oz fame) is involved with the company ... so who knows, maybe if we support their first efforts we could see things like a port of American McGee's Alice on the iphone (yeah I know controls might not be ideal ... but it would still be cool).

So go check it out ... it's only .99 cents!
so um, this definitely makes tilt to live worth $2, it was on sale for $1 at a point i think, OH IT STILL IS, best get it now. but i dont know if it's going to be a content pack, I have no idea how those work since I've never bought one.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gKc76y1hu4
Looks good.

Sort of reminds me of the Ghost Houses (ghosts moving clockwise in a circle) and Castles (rotating fire and crushing) in Super Mario World SNES. Wouldn't be at all surprised if that was an inspiration of sorts. ^ ^

We Rule is up on the US itunes store: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/we-rule/id339274852?mt=8

It's a free to play app that's been up on Canadian itunes for a little over a week. It's sort of similar to Farmville, but it's less annoying to manage since it's portable. There is of course an option to buy stuff (mojo), but it only speeds along the process. Not paying doesn't really hinder the game in my opinion.

If anyone plays, my Plus+ username is thomasrl.
The Free App a Day game today is Chalkboard Stunts (http://www.freeappaday.com/app.php?day=21&month=03). OpenFeint is featuring 3 Point Hoops Basketball (http://itunes.apple.com/app/3-point-hoops-basketball/id306597349?mt=8). Great App a Day is promoting Volkswagen Think Blue (http://www.greatappaday.com/details/volkswagen-think-blue/). Finally, the Free App Calendar has Dead Strike Special Edition (http://www.freeappcalendar.com/details.php?id=69).
We need someone to make this post every day and update it for us. It saves everyone time and gets our asses 4 apps a day. ^_^

Okay, that's cool. I'll do it. I keep kind of weird hours sometimes but I'll do my best to keep it refreshed every day. I've gotten so many free and cheap sale apps through this site that it's the least I can do.

Sounds good Dimsdale buddy!!! 4 new apps a day ya'll, we will all end up with over a thousand apps before the year is over!!!!!

Good morning! Your Monday foursome includes the following:
Today's Free App a Day is actually a photo utility called Color Magic (http://www.freeappaday.com/app.php?day=22&month=03).
OpenFeint is offering BaDaBoo (http://itunes.apple.com/app/badaboo/id314835719?mt=8).
Great App a Day is touting Matching Match (http://www.greatappaday.com/details/matching-match/). . .now with 3D (you supply the goggles).
Free App Calendar has Spikey's Bounce Around (http://www.freeappcalendar.com/details.php?id=77).

Thanks for the list Dimsdale!

BaDaBoo is another bogus OpenFeint "freegameoftheday". It has been "free" since July of last year. Further, it's not really free as you only get one game mode. In-App purchase is required to get the full game. In part I blame Apple for this kind of thing, though. The game should be listed as costing $1.99, but with a free demo that can be unlocked for the listed price. That all in one listing. Like on the Xbox.

Color Magic is actually Color Magic Deluxe, and that is a legitimate free app of the day. Normally costs money and is free today.

Matching Match appears to have been free over the weekend, but is no longer free. It changed to $1.99 today. It was 99 cents on release, went free this weekend, then up to $1.99. I expect it will drop again.

Spikey's Bounce Around is a legitimate freebie today. I got this the last time it was free (last year) and it's not bad too. Nothing great, but it will entertain you for a while. Certainly worth free!

Price change info pulled from the infinitely useful http://appshopper.com/

Guts is pretty damn cool. I've only played with it for about 15 mins but I like the art style and humor. It reminds me of the Neverhood games in tone.

They need to port Neverhood to iPhone stat!

50 in 1 Appzilla: 50 apps in one for 99 cents... Amazing. I bought it.

You guys GOT to get it!!! The price will raise soon the developers say. I also bought Pocket God for 99 cents!!

"jungle jump-the mother of all jumps" is free right now, as I am sure you'd guess its a doodle jump style game, looks kind of good.

Ok I need a little help, my 3Gs connects, updates, restores, syncs fine in iTunes but it's not being seen in Windows, or Ubuntu for that matter, so I can't get the pictures or videos off of the damn thing. I have iHD which will let me do it one at a time and I have to name every single one which is a pain in the ass. So I'm looking for a free, or really cheap, app that'll either let me connect directly to my camera roll and download the to a pc or at least let me transfer multiple files to a spot on the iPhone that I can connect to and download them from there.

edit: Oh yeah one other thing, the GF's 3Gs works without any problems on the same pc ...

And a bit more on-topic, has anyone tried Ghost Stories? It looks like Tales From the Crypt/Creepshow meets Zombies Ate My Neighbors.

What could Blue Block possibly be requiring a newer FW for? I've got 3.1.2 (7D11) installed, but it won't install the latest update.

Also, off topic but input would be appreciated, if any of you remember, I replaced my out-of-warranty 1G touch a few months ago because the home button stopped working entirely. Well now my new 3G touch is starting to do the same thing and it's only about 5 months old! Is this something I can get the unit replaced for? I'm hoping to wait till closer to the end of my warranty to take it to an Apple store, or as soon as the button gives out entirely. It really is obnoxious because it usually takes 3-4 clicks to register the press at all.
Free App a Day is featuring Hottest Apps (http://www.freeappaday.com/app.php?day=23&month=03). It gives you the latest sale apps and lets you track stuff; kinda like Bargain Bin.
Great App a Day has the previously-mentioned Guts (http://www.greatappaday.com/details/guts/).
Free App Calendar has the puzzler Jam Packed! (http://www.freeappcalendar.com/details.php?id=56)
Here's a different link for the OpenFeint title, Grab 'Em (http://www.freeappcalendar.com/details.php?id=56).
Thanks for the post man.

Thanks for all the updates Dimsdale. Rest assure I am checking for your post almost daily as I have found some great games I wouldn't otherwise have known were free or on sale if not for your posts. Must appreciated.
Hahahaha, wtf?
That's pretty funny. I hadn't noticed the price history. Better snag that bargain, guys! Who knows when they'll decide to raise the price up to $100. . .
The Price is Right 2010 is $.99 down from $3.99
Reviews say it crashes. I stopped reading there unless there were update notes (which I didn't bother to read).

and props to malik, what was your time?

Don't waste your time on Quizical. It is probably the worst trivia app I have downloaded. Deleted.

Does it bother anyone else that has Iphones, when a developer uses your ringer volume instead of your regular ipod volume.

All these free games makes me want to buy an Ipod Touch. I do need an MP3 player so its not like I would only use it for gaming. Anyhow are those cheap now? Can those be jailbroken like the iPhones? Or is it cheaper getting an iPhone w/service plan or something? Just a few advice, dont need to derail thread. Thanx

Also keep those free games coming! Im building my collection so when I get either the iPod touch or iPhone, ill have some cool apps ready.

I'm steadily deleting all these damn apps. It's cool to collect them at first but once you start to play them you see they are garbage. I gotta scale these hoes down. But I'm keeping the really good ones and the ones I paid for.
parachute ninja is really fun! anybody buy the full game???
Yep Got it awhile back, definitely worth the $0.99!
