Is being in the U.S. illegally right or wrong?
I was going to respond at lengh to each one of your ridiculous statements...
No you weren't.

To me if you're here illegally, criminal or not, it's wrong and against the law. What I would suggest that we do is microchip illegals coming here the first time they're caught. Then if they are caught again after being deported toss them in jail since they will obviously keep wasting taxpayer dollars by breaking the law by re-offending no matter how many times they're deported.

And for cripe's sake, repeal the anchor baby portion of the law that makes it such an appealing proposition for whole families to come here. Illegal mother and father, illegal kids when born. No more of the patsies in gov't letting the whole lot of them stay here because they don't wanna deport them.

That is the worst idea I have heard about this matter.

Microchip them? What are they? Dogs?
Put them in jail if they are caught a second time? Great, now they are a real burden on us with no room for improvement. How is keeping them locked up not a waste of taxpayer dollars?
Also how long do we keep them in jail? Forever? If not, what happens when they are released? Deportation? You just said that they'll keep re-offending no matter what. What's the point of locking them up for years before paying to send them back to their country when they will just come right back?

I agree, fuck those kids for having the misfortune of being the offspring of illegal immigrants. What you think being born on American soil makes you an American? AHAHAHAHAHAH You can fuck right the hell off with that idea

I know it's illegal, but I'm glad my parents took the risk to cross the border. It gave me opportunities, I wouldn't have gotten if born in Mexico.

What are you talking about?!? To run across the border when you're 8 1/2 months pregnant, give birth in a U.S. hospital and then immediately start collecting welfare was exactly what our forebears had in mind, a sacred constitutional right, as old as the 14th Amendment itself.

 How did I know that I would get a response like this? As for them being dogs, no they're not, but there has to be a better solution than the cycle of deportation and re-deportation. How about we label them terror suspects and lock them away without trial for years and years like we already have with a number of people. Keep them down in Guantanamo and who'll really give a fuck about them if they're locked up there.

I'm just sick and tired of hearing Spanish everywhere I motherfuckin' go anymore. I would have ZERO problems with them if they would properly assimilate into the nation they choose to invade. But they want their cake and to eat it too and due to the fuckin' pansies they're getting just that.:whistle2:#

Because you know you posted a stupid post?
:As for them being dogs, no they're not, but why even deport them in the first damn place if they're just gonna keep coming back.
So, again, how does placing a microchip in them and/or placing them in American prisons keep them from coming back?

lol

(-edit More specifically, have you ever looked into the history of immigration in this country? The first generation are considered different/out of place but after two or three generations, their offspring are completely assimilated into "the nation they choose to invade".)
Deport all their asses, put up an electrified fence, dig a one mile deep trench and fill that mf'er with toxic waste and/or acid. If that doesn't keep them from trying to come here, then welcome to America(but learn how to butcher English like the rest of us).
nice try trying to edit this section out

If your only issue with them is that they don't speak English, why aren't you calling for a federal program that could teach them the language once they are in instead of deportation/microchips/jail/death pits? Wouldn't that be a better use of taxpayer dollars?

Stupid post, huh? I'm just sick of people catering to them and sick of hearing Spanish spoken all over the damned place.

It doesn't, but it keeps them from costing the taxpayers money repeatedly by continuing the cycle of deportation and re-deportation.

I realized that that section was more than a tad cruel and over the top, so I deleted it. As for a federal program to teach them English(and how to butcher it like a true American;)), that too would be a waste of taxpayer money unless they use it 24/7. Besides which, why should taxpayers pay for them to learn the language when they themselves should want to learn it in order to 'fit in'.

If they don't want to fit in, then they don't belong here.

By spending taxpayer dollars on....more costly and ultimately useless tactics that wouldn't do anything besides slightly delay the continuing cycle of deporation and re-deportation?

Microchips, prison and a mile deep trench full of acid on the border aren't free. ;)

And you are also assuming they have the resources to take a basic English class and choose not to. You are also ignoring the fact that it is much harder for an older person to pick up a new language.

I actually dated a Hispanic woman about five years ago. Funny thing was she spoke fluent English and knew NO Spanish while her own brother was here illegally and only spoke Spanish.

As for them not having resources to take English classes, why can't they learn English from other hispanics already here who have learned the language?

I think a new citizenship test needs to be administered. I know someone who can not speak and understand english well and passed the test. I think she had cheated or had the answers memorized somehow beforehand. There are lot of shady ways to pass the test if you know the right (or wrong) people. New questions should be like "Where is the home of the Whopper?" and "Who is Zack Morris and what is his girlfriend's name?".

There's no way you are going to pass this unless you are truly American and or obsessed with useless trivia (which I believe is American). Knowing the original 13 states and etc. doesn't make you American because you crammed for a few days. I have to take this test soon and I SUCK at history but I am probably more American then 95% of the people that take this test.

I agree with you. I see alot of people that are not even trying to adapt to life here. I understand immigrants are used to how things are done in their country but once you come here, try to not stick out by speaking your foreign language and selling flowers on the freeway ramp.

I wish there were a way for everyone to get along but Americans are getting hit HARD by illegals. I remember like 10 - 15 years ago the number of illegals weren't that high and today there is a very significant difference. Imagine another 10 - 15 years later.

2000-2005 has the highest number of new illegal and legal immigrants at around 8 million than any other 5 year period in our history.

I didn't even know this to be a fact until now. I was just saying it because of what I have seen in my life and to be correct about it is absurd!

http://www.cis.org/articles/2005/back1405.html

Here is another kicker.

The 35.2 million immigrants (legal and illegal) living in the country in March 2005 is the highest number ever recorded -- two and a half times the 13.5 million during the peak of the last great immigration wave in 1910.

Although the proportions match up to the native population back in 1910, it is curious to see that these lines you all complain about to get into the country, really haven't affected immigration, at least in our history.

I don't have first hand knowledge of an 8 1/2 month pregnant woman crossing the desert in the night. Most women are not that stupid and couldn't make the journey. But they sure can at 3-6 months pregnant.

I personally know two girls (neither hispanic) that came here on visitor/student visas and did all they could to get knocked up while here so they could stay. Their plan succeeded. Sadly, this is the easiest and surest way of permanently immigrating here if you are female and want to be here.

I don't really blame them, I blame us. We have ridiculous laws that are written practically to have neon signs built in on how to abuse.

It's not any worse than 10 to 15 years ago. You just didn't care back then. Also, CNN was just getting used to filling three networks with 24 hours worth of bad programming. Faux News was actually fair and balanced and MSNBC was just getting started.

Also, the illegal immigrant population will stabilize as our population stabilizes. The illegals that can't find work will move onto the next country that has work.

Watch. India and China will have HUGE illegal immigration debates in the next century while we wonder what happened to all our illegals. You'll thank you lucky stars when you find someone that will cut your grass while you bitch about politics and your prostate.

1. I think you meant original 13 colonies, not states.
2. America does not have, nor to my knowledge has ever had an official language. If you'd like one (or more) official language(s), please go elsewhere. This is from someone struggling to learn Spanish, and I still wouldn't dare try to force someone to speak any language.

Having an official language isn't about forcing anyone to speak anything. It's about the cost associated with supporting multiple language throughout Government functions and/or eventually requiring private business to do the same.

Are private businesses required to translate anything now? As of right now, I can barely get someone that speaks our particular dialect of English much less Vietnamese, Farsi, or Urdu when I get customer service on the phone.

LOLZ...As if having multilingual employees is seen as a detriment to a business. If anything, the broader the audience you're able to reach, the more you can sell your product despite higher upfront costs. Try again.

edit: depascal22 is also correct. If it was so important to speak english, corporations wouldn't have customer service farms in non-native english speaking countries.

It's in any businesses own self interest to be able to communicate with as many people as possible. I don't think they should be forced to support multiple languages, but it's in their interest to do so anyway. Knowing a foreign language also improves the value of a person to a company.
