Is it better to ebay rare games before or after christmas?

Does anyone know if it is better to sell used games before or after christmas? I have a bunch of stuff I have collected from pawnshops and used games stores such as a bunch of copies of Marvel vs Capcom 2, rare RPGs and the like. I've been saving them up all year to sell all at once, however it appears that prices have seemed to drop once the christmas season began. For example, MvC 2 routinely went for over $70 earlier in the year, and now its down to about the $50 level. Maybe this is because everyone is buying new gifts? Should I wait until after Christmas and capitalize on kids with christmas money? Or is the used older game market simply in a downturn?
 
I would think they would sell best when people want to buy gifts but there might also be more people selling at this time...
 
i would say after. Either way its still rare. plus now people are going after the xbox 360 it makes these games seem like nuthing. People are going crazy for the nintendogs ds, mario dance, xbox 360, hard drive for it plus so many other games. wait till after the holidays.
 
some people may lose interest in some of these games and just move on to more recent games (xb360)...that may be why some of the prices have dropped...dunno though
 
Interesting topic...

If a game is rare, or for an older system I would think that not many 'mainstream' buyers will be looking for it and it may be better to list after the holidays. People may have some money they got as a gift, or from returning EA games to the store, and then they will go looking for Radiant Silvergun, or whatever game theyve been dreaming about all year. Of course theres all types of gamers and I could be way off.

But if you have a more mainstream item like an Xbox360 or something, def put that up there in time to be delivered by Christmas. I have a iPod nana 4gb on ebay right now and Im hoping to get a good bit of cash for it.
 
i think rare games is year round but anything towards christmas IMO is the best time to sell off.

i agree with puffa on mainstream games.
 
I was thinking for used games that are fairly common, go for afterwards so you get people who got money for Christmas. People don't want to buy used games to give as gifts (unless they're rare).

New games, before Christmas. People have money and want it, you can give it to them.
 
i sold a Firefighter FD 18 game a couple months ago for around 26 and i sold one last week for 46.. i say check the listings if there is a bunch of the same title. wait until they end then post it. i say if its a saught after game, it won't matter when you post it.

Jeez, its just an opinion, I think most people wouldn't want to give a USED game to someone for Christmas.
