Well I want to purchase these games from www.japangamesnow.com for a total of $60.63 is it worth it and has anyone dealt with them? Thanks

King of Fighters 94 JP AES
World Heroes 2 JP AES

Added just picked up also for $18 super sidekicks 2 (awesome game, me and my brother played it for 5 hours straight)

I haven't dealt with them, but that's a pretty decent price if it includes shipping. A bit cheaper than eBay.

Unless you're a collector and they're complete and that's the price for both I'd say pass. You're only going to play the game once then shelve it. Trust me.

I considered getting a Neo Geo a while back, but realized that I'd never play it. Kinda like how I bought a TG16 with a handful of games, which I played maybe twice before never touching it again.

Yeah, I get stuff like the Sonic collection or Mega Man collection (good deals) and then play them once and put them aside.

I think the thought of playing classic games is more fun than actually playing them. I've got my PS2, Xbox, and GC all wired through a cool Pelican switcher and I have wireless controllers for each. Usually the idea of hooking up a classic system is too much work . . . once in a while I'll go to the trouble.

That said, get them if you think you'll really dig them.

That could be said of modern games also! :)

I dunno. I just started replaying Super Mario World for the first time in probably a decade+ and am having a blast. That game is truly something special. I even think the graphics look pretty good when compared to today's games. (It is 2D after all.)

Now a few weeks before I picked up a Genesis 32X with a bunch of games and you couldn't pay me to play any of them for longer than 5 minutes or so each. And it had some decent titles like the Sonics, a couple shooters, etc. But then I've never been a fan of the Sonic series.

So I guess for the vast majority of old games I wouldn't bother, but there are a few gems that still stand out.

Yeah, most games really don't stand up to the test of time. But Nintendo games always do. It's their mentality of gameplay first and everything else comes after. If more developers thought this way, we'd have far better games even if they didn't look as pretty.

Carefuly with the word "always".. I agree many Nintendo games stand up to the test of time, but just as many age as poorly as your typical "classic game".. which is to say like a 95 year old woman that spends 18 hours a day in the sun.

This is true, but most of the games that I buy now are either because they are A) really cheap or B) highly replayable. I also play my games to death before putting them aside. However, with my TG16, I played Bonk's Adventure for like an hour and a half and like 2 games of Hit the Ice hockey and haven't touched it since.
Plus, I have everything I feel is worth owning from SNK on my Dreamcast. The only Neo Geo game that I would like to own that I'd want to play on the Neo Geo is Metal Slug...but I already played that to death when I had the import for my Saturn, and I'll probably just get Metal Slug Advance to fill that void in my gaming collection.

perhaps that's too descriptive of an image that even an unimaginative individual like myself can conjure up. and now it's stuck in my head.. .:(
