Is this game hard to find/worth playing?

Today I was browsing through Wal-Marts videogame section and I saw a copy of Shadow Hearts Covenant lying around. I was wondering is this game worth playing and adding to my collection? Thanks, and have a cheap ass day.

I saw this today at my CC, brand spanking new for $29.99. That seems like a decent price for that game.

Maybe a PM with a GGC combo is in order to get it at BB for $24.99....hrmm....

It's a good game, but if I see one more of these "Is it rare?" threads I am going ot kill myself. It has been said a thousand times, who cares if it is fucking rare? It means nothing. If you are trying to use videogames as an investment, I pity you.

No I am not using this game as an investment. Personally I think people that take advantage of our addiction by hoarding hard to find games and than trying to sell them for ridiculous prices is criminal. I ask if the game is rare beacuse if it is, I would like to snag a copy before it becomes impossible to find, like Gitaroo Man or Marvel vs Capcom 2.

It's worth about $50 sealed on ebay however I expect the price to drop since the sequel has dropped quite a bit. I don't think it will be rare in the future.

All the copies I've seen are only going for about $30.

Yeah I read it really quick and thought he was talking about SH, notice how I said the sequel had dropped in price. ](*,) Oh well don't buy it if you are looking for rare things.

This game is out less than a year so it is hard to tell. And if we can figure out which games are going to be rare we might as well quit our jobes and buy all the "rare games" and wait for their value to go up.

It won't stop though ... they will just keep coming ..... though I can hope.

Again, I am not interested in keeping a sealed copy of this game. Read my second post on how I feel about using videogames as investments. If you want to invest, put your money in the stock-market. MY intentions on asking whether this game was rare or not, was based on the somewhat difficulty of finding good solid games, not to hoard the copy and try and make a killing on ebay. Heck, I don't even use ebay. Simply put, I buy games to play them, not to leave them seald for a couple of decades in hopes that their valuse will sky rocket. Thank you, and have a cheap ass day.

Seems to me SH:C is easier to find than SH. And with its price drop to 30 bucks, that makes it more attractive.
All three of the Ebs near me claim to have it in stock.
I don't think it will be as 'hard to find' as say Rez or whatnot.
It was rated very highly, and was a contender for best RPG of 2004 on many lists.
I haven't played it yet, I just got the first one and will prob pick up Covenant a little ways down the road.

Amen! When people ask this question everyone always jumps to conclusions that the person is trying to make a buck! The constant rare/valuable joke and the flames people take for posing the "hard to find" question is more annoying than the question itself! Lighten up people!! The question is not if the game will hold it's value, but will it be available if you try and wait for a price drop.

Very true. I wanted to ask the same thing about Shin Megami Tensai Nocturne, but didn't feel like fighting off 5 flames to get 1 good response. I want to buy games to play them, however if they're not going to be rare I put off buying them until they hit the 20-30 buck range.

Yeah, its rare enough that if you hold onto it for 5 years and don't open it you will be able to make a $20 profit, or the equivalent of 4 hours work at minimum wage. That's totally worth it.

I think most people just want to know if they should get the game now before it is too hard to find. Especially if it is something they have seldom seen on shelves or have heard good things about.

About SMT: Nocturne, I told people in another thread that they better get it now instead of wating for a prices drop. Atlus games almost always hold their value or go even higher thatn original value on auction sites. That game is becoming harder to find in stores. I only saw one in a 50 mile radius last week and I got it. I'd rather pay $49.99 now than $100 later.

No one should ever be afraid to ask any questions here. That defeats the purpose of having a community.

Why is everyone here so effing lazy? Somebody pull out their crystal ball already and tell me if this game will become rare/valuable in the future. I want to know if I should rush back to the store and hoard all the available copies. :)

Always good to see someone who either didn't read the thread before posting, or just didn't care what anyone else said and made some random comment.
Hey Dead of Knight, I have always wanted to ask what your sig image is from. It's pretty dang cute.
Actually it's from Shadow Hearts Covenant. Well, the Japanese site for it, anyway; www.shadowhearts.net

Thanks Dead of Knight, your answer is exactly the kind that I was looking for. To all the people that flamed me, read the entire topic and subsequent posts before flaming me for asking a darn question. Thanks and have a cheap ass day.
