Is your Wii on an HDTV?

CAGiversary!
Pretty straightforward question. I just wanted to see the number of people who have a Wii and are running in HDTV.

Jeez, I really didn't expect so much criticism over the choices. For those of you without a sense of humor, I'll translate the last one for you, "WTF IS HD?" means, "No, I don't have an HDTV."

but of course. What other way could I get by playing Dead Rising? I thought mine could do 1080i, but I haven't been able to figure out how yet. Still I get 720P.

I have an HDTV but the Wii's support for it is horrible.
I'm constantly fiddling with the settings when playing different games, using the menu, or my lone VC game.

I was shocked that not every game has 480p and 16:9 support.
They should have that as bare minimum before starting the game.

I've got SDTV, so I chose "WTF is HD?" even though I know what HD is. Why the three normal choices for HDTV and one choice for SD that makes that person out to be stupid?

I have two HDTVs right now and plan on upgrading one to Sony's new XBR 1080p set when it comes out soon. I was going to buy the XBR2 till I found out it just got discontinued.

I have a shitty ten plus year old tv. Don't really care about all this HD stuff, as long as I can get a clear visible picture I'm happy.

Your poll is messed up. There is no option for no, but I know what an HDTV is. And 480p is not an HDTV, it's an EDTV. Also anyone with an HDTV capable of 720p, 1080i, or 1080p could still answer "Yes, Though only 480p." as that's all the Wii supports.

And I have neither HDTV nor Wii.

Well....with our Wii's it doesn't really matter as they can only ouput 480p if you use the component cables. My TV can do that and it it technically an HDTV since it can also do 1080i (but it is old, so unfortunately not 720P).

Unfortunately I just read where the friggin PS3 does NOT upconvert 720P to 1080I (as the 360 does) so hmmm, will I be paying twice as much for a system that can only ouput (on my TV) the same resolution as the Wii? Uhhh....NO

720p/1080i HDTV here.

Wii + Component cables = Looking FANTASTIC.

Anyone who says Zelda's visuals are bad are wrong.

The Wii currently does not output 720p.
Wish it did though, here's to updates.

Your poll also has no option for an HDTV that has 1080i and no 720p which is what many/most of the early HDTV's had.

I use a 480i, 480p and 1080i TV with my Wii. I'm happy with the video quality of the composite cables that came with the system, though I do plan on upgrading to S Video when those cables come out. I only have one set of composite inputs, and my 360 uses those.

Umm I guess I gotta go with the last option. I have an 27" SDTV, and have no HDTV. Then again, I'm in a college apartment... so ya...

My TV supports 720p and 1080i, like many HDTV's, but sadly it will only be utilizing 480p with the Wii...:puke:

It does, however, go full 720p for my Xbox 360!:applause:

I am displaying my Wii in 480p on my 16:9 plasma and it looks pretty good. Not jawdropping like Gears of War does but Zelda still looks decent enough to play and I don't notice the blurry textures or jagged edges or anything. Wii Sports looks OK too but I think the graphics could have been MUCH better if they put any effort into it (and I'm not talking about the style of the game, which I love).
