Nice update to the thread title, ryo. I've lived in Chicago on the North Side my whole life (almost 27 years), and I while I consider myself a Cubs fan, it don't mean I gotta hate the Sox. I'm damned proud of them and I watched or listened to every game of the playoffs.

Yeah your probably right, but I can't stand bandwagon fans. I'm not saying that you are but it's annoying to see people excited for a team they didn't even like 4 months ago.

No way. The Sox deserve respect for destroying in the playoffs, but if it was Cubs vs. Sox for 100 years in a row, I'd want the Cubs to win 100 times.

I was offered a Sox shirt for free at work today, the guy knowing I'm a Cubs fan. He asked me if I'd ever wear it. I paused a second and said no. People are throwing shirts at me left and right. Where were these bastiges in '03?

I want 2006 to start right now. I just hope the Cubs can bring fire to the NL, but, remarkably, I'm pessimistic.

I was watching TV while making dinner and saw a kinda funny commercial for US Cellular that flashed a supposedly real person's Chicago-area phone number on the screen. I went to Google to see if there was any blog info about it.

Games? I don't have anything really Chicago-related. I finally rented SSX3 and have been enjoying it for the past week. I have the demo disc (from a link here) for 4, but don't plan on trying that one for a while either. I think the next time there's a BOGO around here I'm gonna pick up the first two for oltimesake.

How did Chicago CAGers make out on the TRU deal? I stopped at the one on Western near Lane Tech on Monday or Tuesday, but all I wanted was SMT: DDS 1 or 2 and they didn't have either.

Wow, lil rant, btw I scored Dynstay Warrios PSP, and World Tour Soccer PSP at the Kbtoys in Woodfield mall today. They also had THUG 2 RM for PSP, but it was not marked down to $10. Nothing else there now seeing as there was about 5 other people grabbing shit all around me. hahaha

I didnt price match it yet, but you can PM it with a receipt. I did that before with Freedom Fighters last year.

Heya! Where did you pick up Dynasty Warriors? I went to the Joliet and Orland Park stores yeterday. I picked up some stuff but they were both pretty picked over. Nothing for PSP at either unless I missed something. I'd be interested in a DW if you can get another one. Not sure I have anything you want, but I'd pay some $$$ for it if not.

I was the one who found Dynasty Warriors, and it was at the kbtoys in Woodfield Mall. But it was the only copy left.

Probably just going to use ebay, since ticketmaster is a little on the high side and stubhub is the same.

Btw did anyone see that amazing Bulls game last night??

Also going over to Target really quick to check for darkstalkers for PSP.

I saw the score at halftime and changed the channel, but I decided to check what the score was and notice the comeback at the end of the fourth quarter. It was a great game and hopefully the bulls could win games by doing the scoring and playing defense throughout the game. Games like this make me nervous :).
 
Hahah same here man, but I love those 4th quarter comebacks. Btw wasn't this like the Bulls biggest comeback in team history??

And on a side not, the Target I checked out had not one of the PSP titles marked down, but I didn't look too hard since I didn't even see Darkstalkers.

I went to my nearest gamecrazy store (norridge) and none of them had the 3 for $15 sale going on. It might not be on their system because I had them total three classic games and it came to a total of $34 and the clerk said that their is no such sale going on. The clerk said that next week their will be an ad showing alot of promotions.

I got outrigger (DC), marvel vs capcom 2 (DC), and time crisis w/gun (ps1) at the Niles store.

it's going on, don't buy their bullshit. it's even in their ad for this week.
 
I was planning on heading to the Niles/Skokie Walmart on Touhy Ave monday night before the midnight 360 launch - it's my best bet without a pre-order. Any other Chicago CAG's interested?

We can coordinate a good time to start waiting and any DS/GBA/PSP games to bring to pass the time. I figure we can grab some lawn chairs from the home/garden section and some stuff from the snack bar and make an event out of it.

I will probably be waiting in line at Best Buy in Lombard, unless Frys can pull through with some amazing deals, it looks like I will be buying all my stuff at bestbuy this year.

I just got back from Miami, FL (cousin's wedding) and I went to a local best buy and they had a nice little clearance section with games and accesories priced at 50% off like: high def cables for the xbox, offical xbox memory card $12.50, donkey kong bongos and game for $20, mad catz controller-remote-gameshark lite combo for the ps2 for $5, intel xbox controller for $6, metroid for the gba $3. They had other games that were recently released priced at 50% also. I wonder if alot of best buy stores will be doing this soon to open up space for the 360 system and games.

Yeah, shrike reported they were doing this at one of the St. Louis stores near him. I checked the Joliet store and I didn't see any clearence stuff. :sad:

That's cuz the Joliet store sucks! (I really hate that store, I can never find anything good there, and they have almost no strategy guides)

They have classes there but there's also a few buildings on Wabash that belong to them - not sure if admin/dorms or more classrooms.
 
So did anyone get a xbox 360? If so, whats your story?

I will not get until the system goes down in price and I have too many games that have yet to be played on xbox and ps2.

I got arrested development season 1 for $16.20 at best buy
I got street fighter anniversary (xbox), call of duty (xbox), mega man legends (xbox), and taito legends (ps2) for $37.41 at gamecrazy on their buy one get one free deal.
