Ok, here is what I know so far.

Bestbuy in Burbank on 79th South Cicero

I scanned in order

operation flashpoint
Tetris
popcap collection

It gave me the middle game free, not the most expensive. I will be returning later tonight to try and put operation flashpoint as the middle game.

Bestbuy on belmont/ near kedzie by the expressway.

Scanned in order:

Rock Revo xbox
Operation Flashpoint
Rock Revo

I got the first game free. Will try again later tonight to see if I will get Operation flashpoint free if placed first.

Bestbuy on Elton

Scanned in order

Operation Flashpoint
Rock revo xbox
rock revo xbox

Success. Got Operation flashpoint free.

Please post any success/ failures in the city or near suburbs. We only have 2 days left of this sale and I would like to get in on this deal some more.
Sounds good to me. I'll probably need to get rid of some games by that time. What burb is it exactly?
It'd be in Niles. This is all tentative, so don't get crazy if it doesn't come about. I'm just tired of us not being able to set a date and location for a meet up.
My house will be pretty empty come mid-November, so it'd be after then.
I have a PS3, a 1080p 50-inch tv, a 720p 32-inch tv, a 36-inch CRT tv in the basement, and wireless internet. It's not a technophiliac's dream, but there's enough room and tech here to have a good gaming time.

I noticed you can't even find RR on the BB website now. I'm stopping by the Elston store before work to check it out, but I'd assume corporate will have this sorted by tomorrow.

Did you go? Did it work?
going to best buy at 10AM in joliet, hopefully the scavengers left a few rock revos for me :p. will post my findings in afternoon.
Cool, I can't get there until later tomorrow night or saturday. Thanks.

I'll be damned, but it worked. Halo ODST, Borderlands, Brutal Legend, Tekken 6, Forza, and Batman for $60 + our ridiculous sales tax. Oh, and 12 copies of Rock Revolution that will likely end up at Half Price Books.

If you're going to try this, forget Evanston and Elston. While it lasts, try North and Sheffield or Belmont and Kimball. I had success by bookending the RRs and making sure they're different (360/PS3).

Good luck CAGs!

And no, I'm not gonna shed a tear for BB losing money due to their own programming ineptitude.

You could have at least bought a $20 game instead of using all those RRs. Do they have any RRs left?

N&S has plenty of both and I had to scrounge at B&K to find a 360. Some of the BBs I hit had none of either.
Did you buy all the rock revo's? Dude, you could have saved some for others.
You can't really blame him... it is an amazing glitch.
Well, I was the one to report to about the store. He could have left some for other cags.
Do you have a reading problem?

I bought from 4 different stores; 2 copies of each from 2 stores and a pair from the others isn't that much.

Last edited by a moderator:
Its not a reading problem. I was there and I remember there being a mess load of RR's for ps3 and xboxes. Seems strange to avoid that store when I was just there the night before. Relax.

Avoid the stores at Elston and in Evanston because the cashiers/mgrs are aware of the glitch, not because I cleaned out the store, jackass. Read before you start accusing.

See, you didn't state that and everyone also assumed you used up all the rock revo's idiot. I wasn't the only one.

How about next time, you post better details and not make a vague post.

Come on, guys. If you were able to take advantage, then that's great for you. Please cease and desist with the name-calling and bickering.

I know a way to settle this. Estebon and dfg come to the meet-up at Amerijapoxicano's for a DDR competition! The best dancer shall be crowned the king of ChiCAGo!

Crestwood store is the one in the middle, avoid a game that has to be moved from the cage. No RR's either.

87th Dan ryan is the middle. All games must be removed from the cage and no RR's. Very hard.

Burbank should be the middle one, also a cage for new releases. No RR's.

That's all I got for you. Good luck to all today.

Countryside had tons of Demon's souls, and the second game is free. However, cashier in cat in the hat outfit was wise. Scanned rock revo second.

However, they have plenty of rock revo's and you can exchange higher priced games for them. Take care.

I tried the glitch at the BB on Golf Rd in Niles. The guy started asking me why I would want a $5 game if the third is free. I said I had no idea it'd be free and said it was fine anyway. He scanned the wrong one first though. I felt weird hanging on to the other two games while he was asking me questions. Whatever, I'll just return the three games soon. I would have kept the $20 copy of Bioshock, too. Thanks for the heads up anyway, duderz.

Oh, and I beat Uncharted 2 on crushing. I'm such a dork that put me in a good mood since it'll mean I can Platinum the game. It'll be my first Platinum. Woopee. Now I just need to find a girl to jump on!

Yes, and I went back to elston and did it 4 more times. Thanks for your accurate reporting skills. Next time I go to the trouble to save chi-town cags gas and time figuring out how the "glitch" worked and at which stores, i'll remember you being a stupid fuck and not post any. If it keeps you from getting less than you would have scored, i'll be happy.

You mean, the next time you go to the trouble to drive around Chicagoland to normal CAGs' neighborhood Best Buys and hoard, and then hypocritically and ignorantly post here complaining about someone else? With that attitude, you should probably fuck off to SlickDeals where you belong.

edit: Oh yeah, and I hope next time us CAGs manage to "figure out how the glitch works" without your amazing sleuthing skills.

Slickdeals lol!!!

You've been the guy who has a stick up his ass just because I didn't "know" you didn't use all the RR. You had such a detailed post, I guess I should have known.

You went to elston because I reported it. I report about the details on 5 more locations. Burbank, Crestwood, Elston, Dan Ryan, Countryside etc. I did this so that all the chitown cags could see i''m cool, and I want to help everyone out. I'm not part of your little cliq, and you singled me out when 2-3 other people asked you the same thing about the RR's.

I'm basically done with you. You've probably got a ged equivalent education, and
still bitter about your burger flipping job. I've got a lot more info to share (playntrade TIV's I know someone who works at one) and so on. I started posting here to help cags and I got to deal with your stupid ass. You don't speak for everyone (thank goodness) but until you shut the fuck up, I won't post any details about anything again here. I saved you time, effort, and gas by telling you about how to do it at elston and probably a bunch of others as well. I don't expect a thank you, but I expect you to back off because we're not mind readers and misinterpet your lousy vague post. I'm amazed you were able to pull off the deal so many times since you're a fucking mouth breather.

I stopped at Belmont, Elston, North and Sheffield, and Clark and Diversey, not because of you, but because they're all off the Kennedy on my way to work where I actually teach GED and ESL to adults and kids like you who have a poor command of the English language, and who obviously have the time to drive their mom's car around Chicagoland hoarding and bragging about their video game store clerk connections.

By the way, your uberleet mad reporting skillz about how the first game must be scanned at Elston was wrong, and I have the receipt to prove it. So without your brainpower (and never mind the 100+ page BB thread in the main deals forum), I guess us Chicago CAGs will have to fret about how we'll ever again be able to find a deal in this town.

Ladies and gentleman, physical evidence both that Chicagoans pay a ridiculous amount of sales tax AND Estebon is a cocky yet retarded douchebag. Where's my Pulitzer?

What's that expression I hear my students use so much these days? Sick burn?

nb: Best Buy #814 in 60614 is the Elston store

Those kids must all be handicapped since those are the only people I can picture you teaching.

My moms car. LOL!!! Next thing I know, i'll be living in her basement.

Another lol worthy response was that i was a "hoarder". If I was a hoarder, I would have kept my mouth shut. I reported about Belmont, and Elston the day before you went so you already knew how it was going to work. You've got terrible reading comprehension skills so I can only assume two things. 1) You did the opposite of what I posted to you, and your stupid ass thinks you got it free or 2) you got lucky and got it free.

The report about Elston was accurate. I have the receipt as well to prove it. Post your receipt, I could give a shit. I reported the stores and how they worked. The 100+ page thread had no real consistency on how to do things. It was a massive hit or miss. I reported accurate results to chitown cags and thats it. I've had several people pm me and ask for help. I have helped them. Don't you find it odd you're the only asshole in this thread. You can't even man up and admit your original post was vague and left people to assume things. Instead, you'll just throw a massive bitch fit. Like I have stated, you've singled me out because I don't post here much. All the others that assumed you also used up the RR's you've left alone. fucking coward.

To the other chi-town cags, i'm sorry about all this. Dickless here has some emotional problems and can't let shit go especially when he was the idiot who can't make a simple detailed post explaining things. This is my last post on the subject. Happy Halloween, and I hope plenty of you got in on this deal.

Ladies and gent's, more proof that dfg is as retarded as the class he teaches. Please note the date of both receipts. The playntrade guy left you a farewell message on the receipt dfg.

Also, to any cags without sticks in their asses. The Gina Carrano ESPN "The body issue" is a big seller on ebay for some reason. Anyone seen any around? Apparently, there are 5 different covers and not all covers were distributed in every city. If you see one, see if you can sell it quickly on ebay.

lol @ fighting over scanning games. Shit. It's 3AM guys. Go rage on the stacks of cheap ass games you bought instead of uploading receipts trying to get blowjobs fellow CAGs :)

And if neither of you can list me the names of the people at the counter, their blood type, your fingerprints on the BB door as well as counter, how many people were in the store (exact number), how many CDs were under the S section, and video tape proof of both of you at each location, I refuse to believe you guys got the glitch to work. ;)

I'm sorry estabon, but you've failed the reading comprehension part of the exam.

If you'll review the text (especially the bolded part), it was never claimed you did not get your $60 game for free; the 10/30 receipt was posted to refute your assertion that without your "telling you about how to do it" the glitch could not have been exploited.

I recommend extra time for studying, getting some tutoring, and perhaps seeing a mental health professional about your persecution complex. And perhaps a dictionary to understand that last bit.

Jesus, I'm glad I don't work on Sundays.

You said I was wrong, and I posted the receipt to prove that I wasn't Jesus fuck, you're a goddamn idiot.

It appears that you got your free game by using a different method. Some store reports did say that they somehow changed the free game in different transactions in the 100+ page thread.

Listen guy, just fucking stop already. You posted a vague ass report, called me a liar, and I just keep shoving my foot up your ass time and time again. No one else has a problem with me and this all started because you're a stupid fuck and didn't do a detailed report on your trip to elston. You keep avoiding that fact.

You were wrong that it must be the first game scanned. As implied by your "without me you'da got nuthin'!" statements.

The only vague thing about my report was whether or not there were any copies of Rock Revolution left and I answered that after the first response. Hence my initial question to you about your inability to read a thread.

Normally I get paid for arguing with and correcting stubborn and ignorant people, but this is tedious without the monetary reward. But I admit it is funny to see you get so angry and use insipid ad hominems to defend what little intellect you possess.

Blah, blah, blah, arguing on the internet, retards, etc. Hope you lurkers are getting your bandwidth's worth of entertainment!

I was wrong about nothing. I got the game free, this "glitch" was nowhere near consistent, and every bit of information helped. Maybe corporate tried to fix it and instead just switched it around. Who knows why it worked both ways. In the main thread, it happened that way a few times, but mostly never.

You didn't mention why not to go to Elston and 3 other cags (myself incuded) assumed that you had used them all up. Since I was just at the store, I knew that store had about 20+ copies total of the games. Which is why I was shocked. You didn't explain yourself about the employees being "hip" to the glitch. You started acting like a little bitch, and wouldn't let it go when I had. You started the petty name calling and it just went down from there.

Look, i'm not trying to be an ass. At this point, theres really nothing more to dicuss between us. Things could have been better if both of us had not jumped the gun. Seriously, i'm willing to drop this and get back to the deals. Thats why we're all here.

I don't teach math, but nevertheless here's a math tip for our readers:
You can quickly gauge the level of poster's intelligence and sharpness of their wit by the frequency of shaq-fus in their posts.
Inversely proportional.

Nite e'body!

Last post deleted for attempted-civility's sake.

You want to drop this, fine. I was provoked by your accusations of hoarding. The first respondent to my report did not accuse me of such (if you reeeeeeead it carefully); you did.

Look, if you right here state that you saw 20+ copies, why would you assume I cleared out the store, when I mentioned that I went to multiple stores and that I had 12 total copies of Rock Revolution? Furthermore, I responded almost immediately to the question of how many I'd seen left.

OK, my Halloween sugar rush has expired, my head is starting to pound and this is quite honestly a ridiculous argument.

What I'd like to leave you with is that it's impolite to start accusing people of hoarding without having taken the time to read everything and/or ask questions. I reported for the benefit of my fellow Chicago CAGs, so did you, but I didn't start slinging accusations of SD/FW-ery.

For some potentially useful CAG-info: the Half Price Books in Palatine has copies of Vagrant Story, black label FF Tactics, Legend of Legaia, and Parasite Eve 1 and 2, but they're as usual priced high at $50 a pop.

G'nite folks.

Fair enough on the hoarding. Like I said, we both "jumped to conclusions".

Ok, brand new deal to speak about.

To anyone who is a BB Premier Member, sign in right now. There will be a special screening at Yorktown for "New Moon". You can get 2 free tickets if there are any still available. My niece is all about this "twilight" garbage and i'll be uncle of the fucking year for getting tickets to an early screening.

Do this ASAP. If just got loaded up now.

Anyone check out a Blockbuster going out of business in the area? I keep driving past them and thinking about stopping in, but I don't imagine they have anything good. I'd check the other forums, but nobody is talking in here. Why so quiet?

checkout PLay n trade in cicero p.s i didnt know a chitown thread was active on cag. good to know now.
