Just stopped in at the store in Ogilvie - now it's 90% off and pretty much completely cleaned out. A few cds left and some cell phone accessories and that's about it. Oh well, thanks for the tip anyway.
Damn... so close, yet so far away

The 7-Eleven across the street from work has VG tie-in stuff everywhere... ME2 on the Slurpee machine, GoW3 ads at the register... it's a bit odd.
Anybody been to the Admiral Theatre? Are the girls really completely nude? Just curious.
Last time I was there was 2004 and I do think there is Full nudity.

I'm guessing it's not Chuckie Cheese's:)

admiral sucks compared to diamonds. (admiral is not fully nude either..just topless) I believe they both have 20 dollar cover charges though which sucks. Ive only been to both each one time and it was a while back. I'm not sure what club is full nude anymore.

also, ive never been to a meetup, but id like to meet up with some of you sometime.

Yo, I'm down for an Admiral meet up.

The entrance fee was $25 and they do have the one drink minimum which costs $6. They don't serve alcohol but have Red Bull!

I was there yesterday. It is full nudity.

Lap-dances are $10 and $75 for personal time with one of the chicks. There were certainly some hot women, and others not so much.

So yeah, it's full nudity.:D

Hell yeah! :D

Just a heads up. During the Superbowl, one of those Miller High Life commercials (with that fat black dude that goes around to various places and replaces the beer there) will feature some Chicago guy named Tim who owns a baseball card shop in the city, which he plugs in the commercial. Apparently the guy got noticed by scouts for the commercial or something. I saw it on the news last night. The guy will be getting national exposure for his baseball card shop. That's pretty crazy.

Does anyone have an xbox 360 HD transfer kit I can borrow? I'm thinking of upgrading my 20 gig to a 120 gig since there will be people going from 120->250?

I actually live not too far from Evanston and upgraded from a 20 to a 120 in '09. Let me know when and where you wanna borrow it and I can lend you the cable and disc. (I'll just have to dig them out of a box I have....)

Anyone braving the snowstorm tonight to go to hollywood palms for a possible dante's inferno free game? (raffle). i just might seeing as i live only 10 minutes from that, but any further and i doubt id go.

I'm at the dantes Inferno event now. Its snowing balls outside. I'm crazy to be here but oh well, will keep u guys updated on events here
To quote a man here, "no ones gonna beat me. Ill challenge anyone" at a single player game. LOL

How many people are there? They gotta be nuts to go out on a day like this.

Ok just got back, id say there were probably around 35-40 people there. It was so/so. Not everyone got to play the game, and i dont know for sure, but i think it was almost manditory that you had to order at least a drink there (4 dollars). Pretty much the whole 2 hrs (7-9) i sat there watching people play.

they gave out around 6 or 7 games total, and the rest of the prizes were gift cards to hollywood palms. I didn't win, oh well.

What disturbed me though was that people brought their little kids, ranging from 2-8 years of age to watch violence, nudity, sex, bad language, and scenes of hell. Especially in the lust level, I am just a bit bothered by that.

Now I don't feel so bad that I didn't get to go!! About the parents thing, I don't know I'm kind of torn by that because society says don't show kids that young those kinds of images but on the other hand my parents always used to take us (kids) to R rated movies and what not and we turned out fine.

I live in Aurora and felt the quake. Shook the hell out of my bed. Woke up, wife said "was that an earthquake, I said "don't know" waited a few seconds and then went back to bed, LOL!!!!! I thought a car had hit the house (because unfortunately I have felt that before).
I felt the last one a few years ago (in Chicago), but I slept through this one (in Mt. Prospect).
I didn't feel that one a few years ago, of course I was further out at the time in Oak Park. I'm much closer this time.

I didn't feel the one from a few years ago. But, the one from this morning was AWESOME! I never thought I'd actually feel an earthquake. I thought it was something in my house that blew up: water heater, furnace, car, etc. Maybe it was a plow that hit something in the street. But, I didn't think it was an actual earthquake. I ran around the house checking on everything, but nothing was out of place or exploded.

I forgot to mention that I live in South Elgin, almost due east of Virgil.
Anyone feel an earthquake or something? my whole house shook and other people on the ign board that are in Illinois said there was one.
Yeah, I did feel that last night! It was weird as hell, never having felt an earthquake before while in bed. The other one that was back in 2004 or 5 was less extreme and just felt like a truck was driving by the house.

Glad you guys confirmed this. I was going to ask this thread the same thing.

I think I remember feeling it, but not being sure if it was a dream or if I just think I remember it because I heard about the earthquake. I also have slept through almost every single 4th of July parade that passes down my side street every year, not to mention bad thunder.

What's the good word, men? I'm still planning on having people over for some gaming. Maybe we can do it in early March. Holler.

What exactly do you have in mind?

Heads up for those in the Fox Valley area, the Sony outlet store at the Chicago Premium Outlet center has all PS2 games for $7.99. I picked up a copy of Yakuza there. I didn't look that closely at the other titles, but they seemed to have a decent selection of brand new stuff.

Damn. I was gonna post this. The selection is okay, they have 20+ copies of Rogue Galaxy.

Holy crap sometimes you can find great stuff at resale shops. Grabbed a whole bunch of cheap guides and games this weekend, including a copy of Raising the Bar for 6 bucks.

Damnn!!!! Which ones you hit up?

I made a circuit of almost all the Half Price Books, and stopped at a Goodwill and a few Salvation Army stores. I need to update my tradelist now.

ironic and awesome, because i'm going there today, thanks for the heads up!

FYI - I was in the Thrift Store (Salvation Army) in MONTGOMERY, IL (on Douglas Rd.) and they had a couple of COD: Modern Warfare 2 games for the Xbox 360 for $30. They were in a glass case so not sure if the discs were in good condition though.

This isn't much of a video game deal but last year I found on CAG if you signed up and test drive a Ford they would give you a $50 gift card, good to use anywhere.

Ford is doing it again but requires you to go to the Auto show. I know there is only a few days left...but for those attending this weekend, head over to the Ford area. Someone there will have a tablet to take your information.

You will recieve a email confirming your address...then in a week or so you will get an email to print out to test drive a ford & recieve a 50$ gc. One per household so bring a friend.

Was at Woodfield earlier, and the Gamer's World (formerly Gamer's Paradise?) has a buy 2 get 3rd item 50% off for everything in the store, but I couldn't find any video game stuff (over the holidays I grabbed some cheap 3rd party ps2 controllers). Preface to a store closing?

Haven't been to the one on Harlem in over a year, but I think the website you looked at is of a different company: Videogames, Etc. vs. VIDEO GAMES ETC!.
