Spielbergs first film wasn't Duel it was Night Gallery Sneaky or you could go even further than that to Amblin if you want to be technical.
Night Gallery was a TV series pilot actually and Amblin is a 25 min short IIRC. Duel was his first major feature-length film (which was made for TV) I believe so people commonly call it his first film even though he did some other projects when he was a teen. Of course none of those where made for major studios.

Yaeh, that makes sense. I must have been thinking of something else when I mentioned Night Gallery and I personally think that Amblin was truly his first film. I guess you could count Duel though.

Our Hospitality
Sherlock Jr.

A pair of classic, hilarious Buster Keaton movies. These are the first Keaton films I've seen, and they were everything I could have hoped for. Definitely worth a viewing, if you're interested in some great silent comedy.

12 Monkeys - Second viewing. Awesome movie. I love Terry Gilliam (sp) movies. The scenery, the setting, the atmosphere, he does it all right.

Batman Begins (again - this time with a girl since I saw it with my buddies from college the 1st time)
War of the Worlds

BASEketball. fucking hilarious.

So, pigfucker, can I call you pigfucker?

No, only my friends can call me pigfucker.

Gonna be watching From Dusk Till Dawn Next.

War of the Worlds
- exactly what I expected. And goddamn is Dakota just about ripe ... ;)
 That's terrible, she's a very good actress though. Just saw War of the Worlds and she did a great job. Also watched Land of the Dead, nice zombie flick.

eXistenZ
weird/interesting movie - it's almost like virtual reality in reality where you can't tell whether it's real or not. i liked it

Godzilla: King of the Monsters - kinda boring. I just bought the "ultimate godzilla dvd collection" so hopefully the other ones are better.

I watched the pacifier and thought it was so funny how disney does good to not show any violent images, so of-course no one really gets hurt in the movie when in real life people would have died in simular situations....
Me too! Watch it on TCM?
I saw Touch of Evil weeks ago. Damn noobs. ;)

His Girl Friday. Not bad.

Oooo....I've been meaning to find/watch His Girl Friday. I think I've seen that one for a $1.00 at Target and the dollar store/s. So what did you think of it?

Hide and Seek.... wow. lame and cliched.

apparently dakota fanning is the new haley joel oswhatever. the 6th sense kid...

that girl works more than i do.

The Machinist , This was an amazing movie, I really liked it. I also watched Being Ron Jeremy, which is also a pretty damn funny spoof of a movie, it was short and made me laugh.

Frankenstein

A classic.
Me too! Watch it on TCM?
Nah, DVD. I get so many DVDs out from the library, I don't really have a chance to check out TCM.

Well, I'm a big Hawks fan, and His Girl Friday is widely regarded as a classic film, so it'd be wise to snatch it up for a buck. I thought it was a very good film in most elements, but a lot of the plot bothered me. It's just a personal thing, I really can't see the characters making some of the decisions they made, given their situation. But, as a film, it definitely works in every other way. It's a really enjoyable, entertaining movie, and worth a dollar without a doubt.

I just finished up Stanley Kubrick: A Life in Pictures. Glad I finally tracked down a copy, because there's so little on Kubrick out there.

Ocean's Twelve

A side note: One explosion in the beginning of the film was so damn loud that my DVD player shut itself off during it. I've still yet to have my sub bottom out on me, though.

Earlier: Black Sheep

Then I finished Sword of Doom, as I said above. Also finished the Clerks animated series.

Currently watching Sleepy Hollow. Not sure what I'll watch after that.

Hide & Seek - 1/5 Wow H&S is a pile of steamy dog poo! First 60-70 min. of the flick was good, then came the borring, holey, Shining rip off (without the spirituality) plot twist. Great acting bad flick. Watch Identity or Secret Window instead of H&S!

I HATED Secret Window. It was trite and predictable, though it was based off a Steven King novel....

A Dirty Shame - 3.5/5 John Waters does it again. Waters returns to his Pink Flamingos glory days. I didn't like the last few Waters' movies (Pecker=shit) but his newest movie made me laugh so hard I was blushing. If you are over 17 and not a prude rent A Dirty Shame now! I loathe Tracey Ullman but I couldn't see anyone else playing her part.
Hostage. This movie surprised me, it was actually pretty good.
Well, thats good news. I won a DVD copy when I went to see Dark Water. Movie was better than expected. If you like scary movies its worth seeing but won't blow your mind. Jennifer Connoly is always fantastic.

Every time I have gone to rent that, its been out. It sucks, because I have heard good things about it and would like to see it. But I guess its all good, because when I get it from Blockbuster, I too will keep it for a long time.

I will agree with what people have said about Hide and Seek, terrible movie. The acting by Bob and Dakota was great, but the movie was ok until the end of it, then it just dropped a huge load of crap and copped out.

On a side note, Blockbuster has to be kicking themselves in the nuts for the end of late fees things. That lost them a big chunk of change. Just my thoughts on something thats been going on most of the year due to a court settlement, if memory serves me right.

Raiders of the Lost Ark

Movie one in my six movie trilogy. The new transfer in the DVD set is incredibly good. Movie never looked so good.

I didn't HATE Secret Window, but I really didn't like it that much. Far too predictable. I understood the plot about a quarter of the way in (I want to say from the beginning though since it really is easy to undertand). After that it just became sort of boring though I must admit that Depp plays excellent in the film and really tries to make it work out, but the script really isn't that great. I'll give Identity its due props though. That was a film that I really enjoyed and the acting was very good, even though I understood the entire plot from the beginning with the psychiatric documents and the convict. The plot twist at the ending kind of through off guard though.
Done with Sleepy Hollow (great flick), now on to Total Recall, which will make 6 movies and one 6 episode series in two days.
That's not bad. I'm going through by backlog of movies as well. So far I've seen 3 movies in one day (yesterday) with some more today. Not sure what I'll watch today though. Something like a American Psycho, etc. etc.

Watched Hellboy (taped off HBO or whatever movie channel it's on.) So-So movie.

Last in a theater was War of the Worlds. Really liked it.

Yep, and we all know Stephen King is neither trite nor predictable ever...

Last movie I saw was Batman Begins. Next week I'll probably go see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, despite the fact that I am fairly certain it will be bad.

Ah, you misunderstood. I was implyng that I should have been expecting it to be bad, as it was based off one of that hacks novels.
