looks like some people are going to have to wait until monday for the maps. Supposedly it is like .5% of people which i seem to be part of

I must say, that I'm not too impressed with the maps right now. Then again, I only played them for a few minutes the other day, so I can't really give them too much shit.
 
Desolation's kinda lame, but Derelict always was. Tombstone is a pretty faithful remake of Hang 'em High though, so I'm happy with it.

Now they just need to throw them in matchmaking.

Dude, Derelict was the shit. Free for alls were amazing on that map. Killtacs out the ass, son. Backpack reloading ftw. I like Desolation, but I can see it being lame with default starting weapons.

And yeah, I double posted, big whoop, want to fight about it?

The snipes/teleporters/camo made it tolerable, but this version's missin' them all.

Nothing says "I don't give a fuck about my personal appearence" like a beard that big, uncombed hair and some Sears khakis with a blown out elastic at the bottom of the pant legs. Just because you can still fit into pants from Jr. High doesn't mean you should still be wearing them.

Maybe we should have an intervention, Led could come in and tell you how much better his life is since he shaved that crumb catcher and bought new pants.

you're right about almost everything, except i'm wearing jeans.

i was shaved for a bit, but shockingly my gal prefers the beard so i keep it bushy.
 
yes, yes, unflattering picture i get it. makes me look like a chubby slob, whereas i'm only unkempt from the shoulders to the top of my head in reality.

zoo, i'll see what i can do about a match. though you best believe i'm trying out for that extra spot in EGM now ;-)
 
good news and bad news for me. i believe i'll have full access to the beta on the 11th after the press event, but i'll be out of town from the 16th-22nd, so i won't be able to join you guys for the first week :whistle2:/

wow there goes another 300-500 hours of my life. The snow effects were my favorite part. If that is as rough to the final build as some betas are I think GOW is losing its crown as best looking 360 game.

Hey Trak is that VIP gametype an escort type of gametype? That would be kick ass if it is like the version that was on TFC
 
VIP is an awesome new gametype. The VIP gets an overshield, and you have to both protect your VIP and go for the other team's VIP. Throughout the course of the game, the VIP will change to each team member. You can a crazy amount of kills during these games, but only VIP kills count towards the 10 you need to win.

Territories and Assault have changed as well. In territories, there's now an offensive and defensive round. There's 5 territories on the map. Once a team takes control of a territory, you can't get it back. It's 2 offense/defense rounds and whoever captures the most territories wins.

In Assault, the bomb now plants right away, and there is a 15 second countdown. You basically have to defend the bomb and let it arm. Both changes to these gametypes actually make them a hell of a lot more fun. Territories especially - now I don't despise it, I actually welcome it.
 
How's the ranking system changed, you lucky bastard, Trakan? I see you're a sergeant right now, are they all actual military ranks?
 
I don't know exactly, there's two different ranks. One is an actual level system and one is the military rank. It's hard to tell how the military rank levels up.
 
I rented a crackdown with the beta so I can play a bit before I leave town sunday. When can crackdown folks download the beta at midnight?

That sucks even more. I would've try to do it in the morning if it was at midnight PST, but at 5 AM PST, I'll be at work, unable to start the download. That means I'll have to compete with all the East coast kids getting out of school and downloading it. Oh well, it will be worth the wait.
