Yeah I am trying to give it time to sink in but I am not feeling it as much as the first journey. The instrumentals are always nice to have though.

Didn't know that so now I can pick up some of the other ones I have looking at like Ace & Edo or Diamond District. I have almost 300 albums in my save for later list so I will have something for backup.

Gave it a listen. It's better then the Rock and other crap he has been putting out recently. Overall thought it was ok.
Any DJ's similar to DJ Kentaro anyone? Been listening to his mixes for awhile and I need some new flava.

You could always hit up the early Ninja Tune releases from Coldcut, Funki Porcini and the DJ Food releases. And then there is always Invisibl Skratch Piklz, Dub Pistols and Scratch Perverts. You can also check out people like Paul White, DJ Baku, DJ Sushi, Dday One, Dert, Azat, Budamunky, Diverse, DJ Hide, early DJ Vadim, Floyd the Locsmif, Onra, Forest Hill, Freddie Cruger AKA Red Astair, Kankick, Ras G, Samiyam, Steinski, Suhov, Supa Koopa, Unagi and a bunch of other people

is the official download of No Ceilings have the audio volume levels fixed? the skits were incredibly louder than the songs... and the songs were all low.

I downloaded the not final product I guess, those last 5 tracks weren't on it.

That's funny, I'm grabbing some stuff from Ninja Tunes right now and DJ Food's entire collection (Before you posted up). I've been trying to track down the Clifford Gilberto Rhythm albums but so far only some cuts on other mix cd's.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDFwIadFKc8

I'll check out those others man! So far I've only listened Floyd the Locsmif, Scratch Perverts, and DJ Baku.

FB hit up most of them but here are a couple of more like Ill Sanity, Beat Junkies, A-Trak, X-Men (X-Ecutioners), DJ Spinna, DJ Stretch Armstron, DJ Shadow and Ruckus Roboticus (possible my favorite DJ album of all time).

yeah, I've got a problem with giving recommendations. Outside of the standard responses, I always tend to focus more on the lesser known people. Which I have to admit isn't that great, especially if say some one is just getting into something.

another name I forgot which is a durrr moment is 40 Winks who are one of the best out there

also, 40oz of Funk was a killer mix

Hell yeah I can tell you how much new people I have found out of you from here or SOTM that I would not have probably heard if you didn't mention them. Most of my stuff is considered underground but not your style so people should check for both.
i just saw this thread....if anyone has some spare time...my brother and i are producers and we're trying to get noticed...check out our beats at www.myspace.com/dachemists...

we would want some feed back if u feeling the beats...
Didn't really know what to expect from your beats but I was surprised because you definitely have some bangers. The ones that stood out were: New Day, Champions and Close My Eyes. If you guys want to get noticed you could put out a mixtape or album of beats and send it around to some websites like I don't know PotholesInMyBlog (talk to guy named Marty ;)) and other big blog sites like that so people can hear your sound.

I don't want you guys to take this the wrong way but if you are not committed to your name Da Chemists I would say change it because it just reminds me of the Alchemist.

I was thinking the same thing.

I'm digging the new Felt album. Definitely doesn't follow in the footsteps of the previous two albums, and I can see how it would turn some people off, but I'm a fan of the way they can just change up their flows and content to fit in with Aesop's darker, more industrial-sounding production.

Friend referred me to this today, can't find much about him though. He was discovered by Raekwon and he put out an excellent debut album this year.

i got "silenced" so i couldnt respond anyways, about this Alchemist/da chemists, thats actually how we got the name cuz he's one of our fav producers, yea i know its corny and shit,

on the other note, we've been trying to push our beats all over the country and people really dont notice our beats, local cats just rap over our beats without any regard for human life, (meaning they just rap and not put in the work needed) any suggestions would b cool if u guys have them

Yea the one you downloaded was the fake/pre release, the official was released a day later

been going back through this year's releases to get ready to post my best of 09 list and man, this year has been really fucking weak for music. Don't get me wrong, there has been some phenomenal albums but they sure have been few and far between
Produced entirely by Prince Paul.

Good lookin'. I haven't felt SoM since the absolutely classic 93 Til and a few rare cuts back then so it is refreshing to hear something new I can fuck with. I'll definitely check it out. Btw feel free to plug as much as you want. You've certainly earned it considering your overall knowledge and frequency of contributions to this thread IMO.

^Got Clipse in the mail, haven't listened yet...

what do you guys think of "Rebirth?"... I thought it was cool, nothing bad but nothing great. the song with Eminem is pretty dope I thought.

oh wow

i didnt know CAG had excellent taste in Music, Hip-Hop at least.

Recently i been listening to Hieroglyphics. And by 'recently' i mean january - may and summer.

I spent too much money this month >_< gonna wait til next month to snatch it off emusic.

that said, final pick-ups of the year:

Cunninlynguists - Strange Journey 2
Edan - Echo Party
Gift of Gab - Escape 2 Mars
Muneshine - Status Symbol

Just hope you know that Edan joint is a 29-minute mixtape of old shit...and not anything new by Edan.

Well, to be fair, he does mix and glitch some stuff, but nothing new from him, per se.

2009 hasnt been so great, hopefully these records close the year on a positive note
I enjoyed, but I doubt it will change your outlook of the year. Thanks for the site!

i read some of these posts and there are some good tastes in music on CAG. I personally prefer old shool (80s - 90s) but like some of the new shit that comes out. Im a bboy (break dancer) although i havent rocked in awhile so music with rakim, bob james, underground beats, etc are my favs. Since this is a hip hop thread, all u (if any..) gaming bboys and bgirls represent!

check out
bob james - nautilus
if u havent heard this by bob james, im sure u have from the others that sampled parts of it. but the original is so chill.

im gonna hafta check out some of the beats posted here by CAG members. didnt expect that at ALL.

whoo! Count Bass D is always good!!

since Im here... favorite albums of 2009:

Red & Meth - Blackout 2
DJ Quik & Kurupt - Blaqkout
Reks - More Grey Hairs
La Coka Nostra - Brand u can Trust

other stuff I remember enjoying:

Diamond District - In the Ruff
Royce 5'9 - Street Hop
OC & AG - Oasis
Raekwon - Cuban Linx 2
Micah 9 - 1969
Mos Def - Ecstatic
Masta Ace & Edo G - A&E
Tiye Phoenix - Half Woman Half Amazing
Phil da Agony - Think Green

that's all I can remember off the top of my head... everything else I can think of atm ranged from sucks to above average... which is unacceptable!!
