Welcome to the Japanese niche games deals and discussion thread!  Feel free to talk about local and import Japanese games here.  Our goal is to maintain a thread dedicated to active deals on niche games including RPGs, Visual Novels (VN), Shoot'em ups (Shmups), Musou, etc.  Also maintained are pre-orders for standard, limited and collector's edition games with key release dates provided.

I've wikified the thread to make it more friendly and open to others that can actively update with important information. You can find the wiki post directly below this one.

NOTE:  Please, leave the censorship discussion away from this thread.  It's common for japanese games to have questionable content outside of the country.  We want to keep discussions to the game itself and not about cultural/societal tolerance.

You can basically friend any of our members, or any moderator, and you will be able to request to join the community under "Communities friends are in" tab, and a mod will approve your request.

You can also leave your PSN ID in the thread, saying you want to join, and we can invite you directly as well.

Below you can find some pics of the my Euro CE of Estival Versus. The box is really well made and durable and the coloring on it really stands. The character cards don't seem to be as good as the US version, but the soundtrack and artbook are really nice touches. On to the daki...IT'S GLORIOUS. While not favorite characters from the series, the material is really nice. Would be great to actually sleep on, not that I will sleep with it. I'd say its about the equivalent of those really expensive Japanese dakis.

For $100 shipped i think it was a pretty good deal. It has my seal of approval.

Thanks for the pics. The packaging is definitely a lot better. Not just the reversible cover, but the cd package as well.

 
Mildly interested in Hellblade, but then I saw it's being made by Ninja Theory.  Capcom isn't there to make sure their gameplay is at least sort of okay this time.

So, I've figured out the keys to getting a prompt response from NISA's email contact. Polite emails and waiting a week or whatever are totally not the way to go. They're getting a large volume of emails to manage (a whole 250 emails a week, golly), so you gotta stand out.

Step 1: Fill out the subject line of the email form ALL IN CAPS AND ANGRY!!!???!1!

Step 2: For the body of the email, try to insult them. But don't swear (that's rude), call them incompetent morons or something.

Step 3: There's a pulldown box to select the theme/reason for the email. Don't bother choosing, you can pick them all by copy/pasting your message to multiple email submission forms.

Thats been my previous experience. Which is mediocre, but passable. I contacted them on the first when Hundred Knight obviously didn't ship out, then waited a week with no response, sent more messages cutting wait times down till I was sending them daily messages the last few days. Their new sale pissed me off, if they're slow enough to need to do sales, they can answer their damn emails.
It's possible they only checked their email because they're running a new sale....

I played 13 strikes of Aegis Earth tonight. Really enjoying it so far, the first boss battle was a little more involved than I expected in a good way.

Nice to see it up, though without an LE there's no need for a rush. I understand putting that there's less of a need for it with the box from the first game, but they still could have put one out with a soundtrack or something.

Amazon doesn't have the 20% off listing yet though. Could it be... I placed an order just in case. If I don't get the double 20 off then I'll cancel and hold out for awhile.

 
I should try getting back into the Atelier series....I kind of jumped off the ship with Totori. I guess I just don't like them as much as I felt the Atelier PS2 series (other than 3...which was average) and Mana Khemia were just funner. I would love another Mana Khemia.

I'm somewhat in the same boat. I didn't mind it in Rorona Plus because everything seemed super straightforward at the same time, but in Totori it irked me a little. Although I hear Meruru is better..

It's been that price since they were posted months ago. Best Buy is listed at the same price. That might be the final price, but it's not new.
