Welcome to the Japanese niche games deals and discussion thread!  Feel free to talk about local and import Japanese games here.  Our goal is to maintain a thread dedicated to active deals on niche games including RPGs, Visual Novels (VN), Shoot'em ups (Shmups), Musou, etc.  Also maintained are pre-orders for standard, limited and collector's edition games with key release dates provided.

I've wikified the thread to make it more friendly and open to others that can actively update with important information. You can find the wiki post directly below this one.

NOTE:  Please, leave the censorship discussion away from this thread.  It's common for japanese games to have questionable content outside of the country.  We want to keep discussions to the game itself and not about cultural/societal tolerance.

You can basically friend any of our members, or any moderator, and you will be able to request to join the community under "Communities friends are in" tab, and a mod will approve your request.

You can also leave your PSN ID in the thread, saying you want to join, and we can invite you directly as well.

Nice. I have her too. I saw the Totori figure at Bookoff once for $65 but I didn't bite and the next time I went, she was gone. A little regret.

I think you should wait. There's too little known on whether it's good yet. And with TK's trackrecord of releasing improved versions with more content and how DOA5 got so many releases, you may be better off waiting to see if they'll add more characters in a rerelease. I don't believe their DLC claims anymore.

P4DAN:CE is $45 on amazon. It might be steadily dropping. Dunno. Might wanna keep an eye on it.

Apparently it's also available by the barrel fulls in any Asia Country. I enlisted a person from Singapore who snapped a photo of 7 copies on the shelves. Just crazy seeing as how those copies going for $120 plus on eBay...

Is it just me or are these really the most generic, 'meh' actresses they could come up with? The chick with the hat is the only one that stands out to me, and that might just be *because* of the hat! Eh, maybe "Sora" too, hopefully it's not "Kingdom Hearts" resonating with me.

Just imagine what you could do with the right connections. piece meal them onto the internet and you'd probably more than make your money back. I could see less scrupulous people selling them as the na version or something too.

Disappointed in no local co op for Ninja Turtles. But still interested in the game. Good thing my Turtle partner lives 7 hours away from me anyways. Now if only he repair his ps3 bluray drive so we can play. (He has a ps4 and I dont and neither of us want PS+ as it's not worth it to us)

Shantae: Risky's Revenge is getting a director's cut on the Wii U, but it's not really Japanese and has already released on other platforms (PS4/3DS/PC). Apparently last week Rising Angels: Hope (VN) & Verdict Guilty - 유죄 평결 (Fighting) slipped through on Steam. Could've sworn there was another I saw a few days ago, but I'm not seeing it anymore.

Yeah, I probably could've made it a little more clear on the actual Vita release date rather than just saying 'upcoming Vita version'.

Aaaaaaand of course I received an email about my PS+ expiring today about the time you quoted me.

Inb4 anyone asks that "Yu Ayasaki" looks similar to Miku, even the comments section on that vid mentions that very character as a "Discount Miku", lol. Yes guys, bring on the gifs, lol. X3

(But honestly, why not actual Pixel Miku in Mario Maker, she was in Mirai DX after all, and that was localized. >.>)

they run through amazon now so if you have exp with amazon then there you go. What sucks is despite them running through amazon they don't take amazon credit :(

Well, they seem to also deliver on behalf of Square Enix, and I know people have recently been happier with their orders from SE. So seems like it shouldn't be a problem. Thanks for the help!

I've actually found Pepita to be just as bad if not worse than Digital River was for Square. Bad packing jobs and totally non-existent customer service.

 
Hmmmm... wonder why they don't use Amazon anymore. It wouldn't have anything to do with being cheap now, would it?

Said it many times... when companies cut cost, the first place they start is customer service/customer care.

wouldn't surprise me. Plus when tohr came out everyone cancelled their gamestop orders and ordered through amazon instead.
