Welcome to the Japanese niche games deals and discussion thread!  Feel free to talk about local and import Japanese games here.  Our goal is to maintain a thread dedicated to active deals on niche games including RPGs, Visual Novels (VN), Shoot'em ups (Shmups), Musou, etc.  Also maintained are pre-orders for standard, limited and collector's edition games with key release dates provided.

I've wikified the thread to make it more friendly and open to others that can actively update with important information. You can find the wiki post directly below this one.

NOTE:  Please, leave the censorship discussion away from this thread.  It's common for japanese games to have questionable content outside of the country.  We want to keep discussions to the game itself and not about cultural/societal tolerance.

You can basically friend any of our members, or any moderator, and you will be able to request to join the community under "Communities friends are in" tab, and a mod will approve your request.

This collector's edition is going to be sold for a fortune in secondary markets.  Hell, you can piece out and sell the stuff you don't care about and make all your money back while keeping the important items.

30k is the global number I believe, so it's not too surprising to have it sell out of the NA region's allotment.

Yeah, no. That CE is ridiculous expensive and putting character art from the game on it is also a big no for me this time around. I'll get the deluxe probably. Which by the way is back up at Amazon:

Yeah, but the name change didn't click with me until later that day after posting as it looked familiar to me. There was little point in going back and editing that post after. I still would have added it to the weekly release list as it did come out this week on PS4, just like I listed Resident Evil 6. Though I would've done some light digging for other reasons and figured out it was Finding Teddy 2 before posting and commented that it previously released on PC.

I don't feel like I ever fully appreciate art books or soundtracks (usually look through them or listen to them 1-2 times), so the UCE of FFXV isn't that enticing. The figure looks cool, but since we know very little about the game Noctis could end up being a crappy character for all we know.

I do appreciate a good steelbook though, so I'll probably pick up the normal Deluxe edition. I'm not sure if I'll pre-order or not though, since the value of the FFXIII LEs tanked...

Wasn't her moonlighting job selling saucy pictures of herself with Nintendo hardware? She also tweeted something extremely inappropriate for an employee of what's essentially a toy company.
 
Personally neither ff15 or p5 have shown anything really good yet.  Though I do like kyuubi  Carbuncles and the one artist from p5's characters at least.  If there was a platforming dungeon made out of food from that one picture in the magazine that says don't put this in your mouth I'd probably get the game over there...

If so5's guest characters wern't better designed and looking than the party members I would be down for that one.  Still mad jade curtis look alike with white hair is a guest instead of a regular party member.

The Play Art's Kais are pretty nice though, but not on the quality of something like Hot Toys, but for it's price its really good. I would love the Noctis to go with the Lightning one I have, but other than that no, I'd say the Female to Male figure ratio I have is like 100-1. Only have the Venom Snake and the Scorpion one from the MKX CE.

Edit: Actually, Noctis kinda looks like a girl... so Idk...

Edit 2: Betting it now, there's gonna be some kinda easter egg/weird event where he turns into a girl. Actually all 4 of them do.

Exactly this. Besides her tweets and her college thesis defending pedophilia and pedophiles, (even going so far as to condone it) she was moonlighting. She said that Nintendo's policies don't prevent this.

I'm pretty damn sure Nintendo's handbook has a policy that reads something like 99% of every other large corporation's policies. You can work another job or side job, as long as it is not in the same industry. For example if she worked for Nintendo but then also worked at a fast food joint, it would be just fine. If she worked for Nintendo and then also worked for another gaming company, website, or Gamestop though that would NOT be ok.

She's just trying to get people to drum up support for her in the hopes that those people won't look into the actual policies, or hope that people are ignorant enough to not think about it.

That being said, it's still a shame she lost her job. I wonder how many tweets she is getting asking for the scoop on the NX now that she doesn't work at Nintendo. They probably had her sign an NDA when she left though.

If you can consider Gundam Models gender specific.. I'd say I have a few "male" figures :whistle2:

But the first "human male" Figure I'll own is probably the Kaito Fig from the "Acute" video coming out later this year.

 
It's crazy how many different ways a comment can be interpreted.  The basis for that comment being I know that people here predominately collect girl figures.  

It's nice to hear differing perspectives from figure collectors though.  I'm actually shocked that some people correlate gay tendency with dudes buying male figurines.

amusing you say that i was thinking i was playing KH with better graphics. the demo while very nice to look at, was very bland an did not really have much going on.

not sure how they could handle it differently since their going with a open world game, they mit had issues locking content an not spoiling to much. personally i would love if they just made the first 20 mins hours playable, with a save that can carry over. even if 40 mins of demo was a cut scene...

 
I love that there's a gameplay timer on the main menu. Do they think people are going to play the demo so much that they need to keep track of time spent on it?

 
They should've announced Diva X tomorrow, then everybody could've toiled trying to figure out if it's real or not. Technically it's tomorrow in Japan already though. What a missed opportunity.
