The following thread are for niche-based Japanese video games by smaller companies such as Atlus, NIS America, AKSYS, XSEED, D3 Publisher, KOEI/TECMO, SNK Playmore, Ignition, Natsume or any sweet deals for those who are passionate and hardcore about Japanese video games even from the bigger companies like SquareEnix, Sega, Bandai Namco, etc.

But to avoid any messiness of links everywhere, we'll focus on games within the last 2-3 years as opposed to the last five-ten. [although, if you do see older titles on sale, please post them regardless].

The theme of these deals are Japanese video games distributed in the US by the smaller niche companies. The thread is literally for those who love Japanese games.
There will be a few Korean games that you may see on this list, such as the "DJ Max" games.

If you see a deal, please post!

NOTE: Please check the most recent page for the latest deals.

And I want to thank many of you in advance who submit their deals and their support!!!

Wait, what if you're over 13 and don't wear a fanny pack everywhere you go but are also 30+ and obese?

That is correct. However, if you are 30+, don't wear a fanny pack, and are not obese, then you should buy both the 3ds and vita versions. Also, you should buy both versions if you are between 13 and 30 and don't wear a fanny pack. Furthermore, if you are exactly 13 or under, then you should buy the 3ds version.

People that have immature minds and poorly thought out opinions feel the need to express them with gusto and vigor to make up for their lack of substance. That's the root of a lot of it. :3

That is quite possibly the best description of that situation that I have ever heard.

I applaud you, humbly bow to you, and hope to pass on your wisdom to others.

Seriously. No sarcasm intended.

Any other good deals out there guys?

The Time and Eternity is not a bad one though but even at 20 bucks I have heard so many bad things :(

It is not the greatest, and starts off horrible.
But, I found it got better as I went along.
No awards. But if you can get past the first hour or two, it gets much better. Especially when played in chunks instead of a marathon session.

If you have a murse you can carry anything and everything you want.
I've always been jealous of women's societal ability to carry purses.

I have to wonder why NISA bothered with Time and Eternity. They weren't the developers in Japan, and there's so much stuff out there, so... why? Maybe they didn't realize it was cruddy until it was too late.

Got my order from Aksys games.  Ordered all 4 packages.  Thought I was supposed to get 2 soundtracks, only got 1.  I shouldn't complain seeing how it was a great deal and for a good cause.

I also got my order from Aksys games, the Jubei plushie. I was surprised it got here as quickly as it did considering how far from them I am. Right on my desk he goes.

Aquapazza is $24.72 on Amazon. Did anyone pick up this game? I'm a bit reluctant since I'm a casul fighter.
I'm waiting for it to go down. I was going to buy it for $30 plus $10 Newegg giftcard but my backlog is too big.

If are a fan of any of the characters then you should enjoy the game.

I really wanted an LE of that game but I guess the company didn't want to make it.

How big is the Jubei plush?
Like the size of my hand. I can't find a measuring tape right now.

I got my orders today. The comic shipped with the plush and the comic was in bad condition because the packaging was awful. It's just a document mailer with tape on it. It's like not even a mailer. I'm not sure that it seals by itself.

The comic was trash anyway. Do not get the comic.

It got a physical release? I thought it was only available digitally.

Here's a bit of a size comparison:

Man Aquapazza stinks...I'm leaving my game case open cause it smells really industrial and gross....does anyone's copy smell really bad too? It smells like kind of like old oil...

Yes, my copy also has that weird odor, which isn't normal per se, I also read (in other forums) that they too have that same bad odor in their copies too. >_>

Just got my Jubei plush. I don't know if anyone posted the size or if anyone was still interested, but he is about on par with a Vita game case. A little thicker, but thats it. I'll post a picture comparing the size if anyone is that interested.

It looks like the Silver Anniversary Edition of Ys: Memories of Celceta is available for preorder from Bestbuy.com (and priced at $47.99 for GCU members). It's possible that an order may get canceled, but I also have it preordered at GS and I don't have much to lose.

I just find it more attractive to use a $20 BBY certificate and BBY credit to get such an awesome CE for $27.99+tax over using a $20 PUR coupon at GS (though I'll do that via return/rebuy if my BBY order is canceled).

What...I want to know more about this odd situation and how it happened...

I hope the game is good, or the whole thing will be sadly ironic.
The game is good, its just when u get to open a new copy, It just has a weird smell that doesn't feel like a new game smell. So yeah, must be some weird chemical imbalance either in the game case or the manual. >_>

I'd be all over the Silver Anniversary Edition at $48. $60 is a bit steep. I was hoping NewEgg would have a coupon but no luck.

It probably comes from the case, not the disc.

I had an issue with a toxic case with a 1990s Korean DVD. It made me sick.
Yeah, it was the case (or manual. etc.), not the game/disk/etc. I just had to let it out if that worked, maybe, maybe not...>_>

This is really good news!  All of my fears of Etrian Odyssey never coming over to the US again are just about gone.

It seems like Atlus is busier than ever.  I just hope the quality doesn't get lost along the way.
