The following thread are for niche-based Japanese video games by smaller companies such as Atlus, NIS America, AKSYS, XSEED, D3 Publisher, KOEI/TECMO, SNK Playmore, Ignition, Natsume or any sweet deals for those who are passionate and hardcore about Japanese video games even from the bigger companies like SquareEnix, Sega, Bandai Namco, etc.

But to avoid any messiness of links everywhere, we'll focus on games within the last 2-3 years as opposed to the last five-ten. [although, if you do see older titles on sale, please post them regardless].

The theme of these deals are Japanese video games distributed in the US by the smaller niche companies. The thread is literally for those who love Japanese games.
There will be a few Korean games that you may see on this list, such as the "DJ Max" games.

If you see a deal, please post!

NOTE: Please check the most recent page for the latest deals.

And I want to thank many of you in advance who submit their deals and their support!!!

Looks like they gave Koromaru the UMVC3 Missile treatment, i guess he'll be part of Ken's Specials/Supers. I guess they won't budge for the FeMC now since they gave Ken the polearm thing. Game is looking very good though, almost good enough to justify the $60 price tag.

Wait... I just noticed something, the farthest downward screen shot to the right, isn't the guy in the blue's name "Theodore" or something (too lazy to look up). Isn't he supposedly non-canon...
It's cheaper if you get from Best Buy if you have GCU.

The most you can hope for is a FeMC palette swap. But let's not fret, we still hope for additional character announcements!

It's Theo, Elizabeth's and Margaret's brother, don't remember if he's the youngest or middle brother. He's canon, as he's been referenced in Persona 4 Arena.

I like Ken's design and Shadow Koromaru is interesting. I wonder if the dog would talk if I think the shadow is you-know-who.

My Drakengard 3 CE arrived today. I can't remember the last time I was so relieved to receive a package delivered to my house.

Buying stuff from Digital River is not good for my health.

Oh I just realized my Drakengard 3 CE didn't ship cause I bought those stupid Tumblers and they come out June 30th LOL. Thought they were out already..

Are good about keeping shit for people or am I going to get screwed over?

I bought some tumblers too. But their release date was quoted as "2/27/14"

Holy shit wow. They delayed the release of those tumblers by 4 fucking months? And not a single email saying "LULZ SORRY, Your order will be delayed even more now!"

That's what I get for buying all this crap in one order to get free shipping.

I'm going to call them tomorrow and if they don't let me cancel that part of my order.... i'm just gonna fucking cancel the whole thing and just buy the DG3 regular edition on Amazon and hope amazon hasn't gone out of stock of the FFXIV PS4 CE

Does e-mailing them work? I've done that the last 2 times I wanted to cancel something. The only time I tried calling I waited on hold for 30 minutes and just gave up.

is tales of hearts R a gamestop exclusive? It says that on its page, but theyve been using that term for stuff that isnt actually exclusive to them lately. I dont see it on amazon or anything so either its not listed there yet or it really is GS only

Anything from Digital River for some reason goes directly to my spam mail folder in GMail. This is not something that I've set as a filter... perhaps GMail knows something that I should have come to realize in the last year or so. You may want to check your spam folder to see if there was anything from them in the past.

I just thought that to mean that GS is offering exclusive content, not that they hold the exclusive rights to the sale of the game. I could be wrong though.

Just realized Square is charging $5 for the Japanese Language pack with Drakengard 3. Not that I was going to use it but now there is no chance of me downloading it, lol.

What else have they used that term for? I know their new-release copies of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and Splinter Cell: Blacklist were coined the "Gamestop Editions", but I can't think of anything else branded as "Gamestop Exclusive" like ToHR.

I remember that Tales of Graces also had a similar exclusive branding... did that end up being an actual exclusive? I don't remember tbh.

Yes. The vita physical release is exclusive to Gamestop just like One Piece Unlimited World Red (the PS3 and 3DS versions have listings on Amazon).

Elminage Gothic coming to steam this summer. I can't wait. I loved the Elminage Original on psp. Hopefully this one has a better translation as that one was pretty shitty.

Has anyone ever updated/changed their address or billing info on GS.com? Senran and Tales R both come out after I'll move and I already have my pre-orders in.

Why can't more retailers be simple about this kind of stuff? It's ridiculous how difficult it is to do something so simple as to change the shipping address or billing method.

It never works when I try to do it, so I always have to just call and do it that way.

NISA is really good about this, they emailed me last night about that Hyperdimension Neptunia : PP CE was two weeks away from release date and to go over my shipping/billing information. I had to change my shipping information and add a gift card I got form Mugan Souls Z CE. They changed all of this within I would say less than two hours after I sent the email.

Personally I would just call GS.com to sort all of that out. I have never ordered from GS.com though.

Call them or if they have a live chat, do that. It sucks but then again GS.com isn't the greatest site ever.

Even when I called and had them update, they still had issues. They said the credit card company rejected their request for payment; the credit card company said the request was for $0.

Ultimately GameStop left the order open and over time I received DLC codes from the preordered items, but the items themselves would never ship. Once the last pre-order was released, the order finally closed itself out.

I feel if you're going to deal with Gamestop just do it in your local store, saves the hassle, easy to cancel if needed, and they seem to be able to change things easier in person than otherwise. Just my 2 cents and I hope you get your hassle orders figured out (this is one reason Digital River is so disliked because it's hard as heck to change any information once the order is out).

I don't know where I'm moving to (just the general area) but I know it'll quite a bit from my current place so I can't just do the in store route.

At least USPS has mail forwarding, which has been decent for me. UPS's stupid system won't let me change my address and I have no idea as to why. I'm thinking it's based off of my driver's license but I don't know how they'd get that information to verify my addy in the first place. I know FedEx has a similar system but they are by far the worst in terms of customer service.

I have sent NIS like 2 emails about changing my shipping address on HDN, and still no response days later
You have an account with them correct ? Go to their store and log in. Under your account there will be a support option. Click contact support and fill out the appropriate information there. It is like opening a ticket. If you have any other problems or have already done this I would call them.

Thats what I did, I sent my first ticket on the 17th, and another one last night. Usually they respond within a day or two, so I guess they must be busy or something. If I don't have a response by tomorrow I'll have to end up calling, but I always find giving addresses over the phone annoying

YEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAH PS4 version for me! :whee: :whee: :whee:

Wait, $49.99 for the Vita version?! Or is that a combo price?

EDIT: Never mind, the Vita version will be $39.99 according to this article.

It couldn't have, because I got the email with the DLC codes just fine.. Just checked my spam from the last 2+ months. Nadda

I emailed them last night. Still no response. I'll give'em a few days and if not. I'm gonna be sorely disappointed.

ALSO: ELIMINAGE, YES PLOX

I hope they do another physical copy for Elminage but it looks like they have only announced it for PSP. Had I known they took international orders I would have got the first one.

So far I have SAO and Senran Kagura preordered. I'm starting to venture into Japanese Niche games and Tales of Heart R has me interested. I read that the Tales games aren't usually related except the direct sequels. So I should be fine getting Tales of Heart R as my first game in the series?

All Tales games I've played aren't related to each other (Xillia 2 is related to Xillia 1 though), so you should be fine getting and playing Tales of Hearts R.

Sweet, story is pretty important to me, I still haven't played second son because I want to play the first two infamous games first. Looks like I'm going to gamestop tomorrow then.

second son has nothing to do with the first two infamous game story wise.

I have all of those pre-ordered as well. I've sadly (awesomely) had to create a spreadsheet to keep up with all of the releases this year, when they come out, and whether or not I've purchased them.
